He's pretty sure if it were common Maric would still have been ruling Ferelden during the Blight. It's an unpleasant thought for several reasons. But at least Kieran is less at risk from people trying to use him for it. Morrigan will keep him away from Flemeth and her sisters and any other magisters who might get ideas.

...He has to wonder if Morrigan knew that about him at the time or only figured it out later. That one question has raised so many more that Alistair isn't sure he wants to ask. He definitely can't start interrogating the boy (his son) about it so it's something of a relief when Kieran changes the subject.
