Crosscanon CR Discussion Post

Lots of people LOVE crosscanon interactions. However sometimes it can be hard to approach
people in memes and open posts if we don't know them. There's always that little nagging worry
that the person being tagged won't know your character, or even worse... HATE THEM or the
canon they're from.

Even just saying, 'Yes I'm open to Crosscanon CR!' is in itself pretty vague. After all, someone
could say they enjoy donuts but it turns out the only eat the chocolate and the jelly filled ones.

So this post is designed to get a little more specific then that. Everyone has their own
crosscanon CR dreams, now it's time to let everyone know about them!


Start obviously by putting your character name and canon in either the subject line or in the
beginning of the body of your comment.

You can either reply to this free form and just talk about what you'd like to do, or you can fill
out the handy little form I've made out. You don't have to fill out the WHOLE thing, each part is
completely optional. Just do the sections that apply to you and delete the rest.

Cross Medium friendly: Very yes.

Canons: I like a lot of canons! Currently, though, my big ones are Supernatural, DC (comics, live action, & animated), Marvel (comics & animated), MCU/Avengers, Nolanverse, Yu Yu Hakusho, Dragon Ball, Disney, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, myths/legends, and...ponies. I guess. THIS IS HARD.

Type of CR wanted: I have to admit to being a bit of shipper (okay more than a bit), but I'm actually open to pretty much anything.

Other: I am probably going to be half the comments on this thing.

Specific Characters: All SPN characters ever, Persona 3 characters, um... Recently got into Teen Wolf, though I am unsure of how well the characters from there would mesh with the ones I play but open to trying...
Canons: Same as above, mostly, though I'm pretty open to most canon- Not too fond of characters that are really inhuman in appearance though, such as ponies, Transformers type characters etc.
Character types: Depends entirely on the character I'm playing.
Type of CR wanted: Shipping is awesome and I'm the first to admit that I am a trigger-happy shipper girl, though brotps are cool too and just friendly things in general.
Other: Just mentioning that my muselist can be found here for those of you who're curious as to who I have to offer. Not completely done, and the inactive muses are available on request so this is kind of a catch all post for all of my characters.

Canons: I tend to swing towards live action, comics (Marvel, MCU, DC, DCU, etc) and book canons, but will do anime/animated (think Avatar)/anything in between canons if the character meshes with mine.

Type of CR wanted: I like fluff and domestic memes a lot, but I'm down for smut and shipping and even straight up crack and gen. I'm very flexible.

I have to admit, I didn't really watch that much of DS9, having liked VOY and TOS the most, but I'd definitely be interested in playing something with these two. Even if they're from different time periods, one of them could always warp around the sun, right?

Specific Characters: Nope!
Canons: None in particular! There are canons I'm more familiar with than others, but I'll play with someone from an unknown canon happily if they don't mind me possibly being a little clueless. I also don't mind at all if someone's never seen Sherlock's canon- it's not like she's lifted directly from it anyway.

I prefer 'existed in the same world all along' to 'suddenly crashed through dimensions' when it comes to cross-canon CR, so canons that mesh with BBC Sherlock like that (however loosely, clearly I'm not exactly gripping white knuckle hard onto canon) might work best. I'm happy to AU my AU, also. Just watch me.
Character types: Any! When you think of Sherlock Holmes, obviously law enforcement, criminals, other people involved with crime in one way or another etc spring to mind and I'm definitely up for CR with characters like that because of the plot hooks they present and so on. But really, she comes into contact with an enormous variety of people as a result of her work and more.
Type of CR wanted: I'm getting vague and repetitive here but: ANY. I'm not really open to shipping right off the bat or possibly ever because Sherlock's complicated in that area, but everything else, negative CR as well as positive CR- she's intensely unpleasant, and is actually even more aggressively...Sherlock than her male canon self, so that lends itself nicely to negative CR.

I've seen the BBC canon, and I loved it to bits. And I have this character who works in law enforcement and who's quite as abrasive as yours. And we could work something out canonwise...

Well, this isn't a cross-canon so much as this bloke's an OC. He's a con artist with a penchant for extreme disguises via surgeries, make-up, etc. Usually I use him for espionage type deals, but he's also a sort of private investigator as well.

So it's an odd offering, but if you'd like to play at Sherlock having a criminal contact (he sometimes works as one of the Great Unwashed, so it's not totally unlikely he could be one of the homeless network) or if you'd actually like to have him as a guest star in some plot with one of your Janes to catch, I'd be up for it.

Specific Characters: None, I'm happy to explore all the things.

Canons: Man, the moment it comes to actually giving specifics and your brain just forgets all the "Oh man I'd love Tony to meet..." moments you have on a daily basis. Really, as much as I love MCU castmates (Y'all are great, seriously) I often get real hankerings for unexpected CR that can only come from cross-canon stuff and I don't want to say I'll only play with canons I know because that's restrictive. That said, I'm a long-term animanga kinda guy so I have no aversions to playing Tony with animanga types, the very opposite in fact: I'd love to bounce him off animanga characters of all kinds :') Of course, his reactions will vary depending on the kind of character (He won't, for example, automatically treat someone who says they're actually France or America or Italy in the same way he'd treat a shounen hero, magical girl, or mech pilot) but I love all the things, really. Admittedly, I would love to see some interactions with Leverage characters (If anyone wants to fling a Hardison at Tony? Yeah, that would be awesome, don't tell me it wouldn't be.), but really apart from that I don't have specifics.

Character types: I can work this guy with anyone, but that doesn't mean it'll always necessarily be nice CR since Tony can be an asshole and is sometimes a bit too quick with his honesty. Personally, I think the most worthwhile interactions come from people who can stand their ground or are willows-in-the-wind of arrogant and abrasive attitudes, people who will call things as they see them and/or call Tony out on his hypocrisies, his lack of social awareness, his bad humour and so on. But again, I'll roll with anything if it's interesting :)

Type of CR wanted: Complicated, messy, meaningful, emotive, all that kinda stuff. I tend to not be so into shipping CR or smut but I don't necessarily mind fluff and I would be interested in some kind of relationship break-up things, not in the sense that I hate who he is canonly with in MCU (I actually adore Pepper as a character, I genuinely do) but I'm interested in the tensions and pressures surrounding the actual reality of dating someone like Tony Stark, not just the rock star, billionaire, superhero stuff, but the flaws, idiocies, and big fuck ups. I kinda like the idea of break and rekindling, not necessarily back up to romance but with more wherewithal and respect toward the other people involved and whatnot. Perhaps related, I like CR that could make Tony face up to difficult topics or have to deal with actual emotions (good and bad), face the things he does/has done (especially politically) and push past the joker defence mechanisms or need him to step up his game and think outside of himself and his needs. Those are just some things that come to mind, but I'm game for many things.

Other: Perhaps this is less a cross-canon and more a cross-universe(s) thing, but I think I could quite like interactions with non-MCU/less common Marvel types. I would kill to play with a Peter Parker/Spider-man (not in a literal Superfamilies way, I hasten to add. The Tony-as-real-dad thing doesn't do it for me, but I love the idea of awkward mentor stuff) or a Bucky Barnes (I'd be especially interested in the possibility of interactions surrounding the topic of Steve.) and...yeah. Otherwise, the only 'other' to add is that I can be really slow at tagging (GMT timezone and busy schedules), and that I also enjoy OOC discussions on all these kinds of topics as well as/aside from the actual playing out. This got long, I'll shut up now :')

Cross Medium friendly: I have a heavy preference toward live action PBs, but I'm willing to branch out if anyone's interested in a thread.
Canons: X-Men, Avengers, Batman (Nolanverse preferably), Sherlock, Doctor Who, Star Trek, Supernatural, True Blood, Harry Potter, Nikita... those are the main ones, and of course fellow Heroes characters are always awesome!
Character types: Depends on the line, I suppose. I'm open to threading with all different kinds of characters. Heroes, villains, and everything in between.
Type of CR wanted: Plotty stuff, shippy stuff, fluff, smut, angst. Variety is the spice of life.
Other: I just want to say here that I'm kinda shy about initiating threads since I'm just starting to get active here on DW again. :3

Cross Medium Friendly: Well, yeah. 100% committed to this sort of thing. OTA is my best friend.

Canons: I do, however, have a slight aversion to live action chars. Other than that....well, having grown up with comics, I have a preference for all of the printed mediums such as manga (anime adaptions are kewl, too) and Western published. Doesn't really matter the canon, actually. =p

Character types: Depends on the situation of the meme...

Canons: While I'm trying my hand at more violent canons, I have no particular aversion to any of the other types, so come at me, bro!

Character types: Stubborn Jackasses who want to pick a fight are much loved, but I'll also take any other kind of person from the spectrum, especially the kinds that just make you want to bash your head in.

CR type: If you're doing smut, please build up to it first, I want to have some sort of history. (God, I sound like a woman right now.)

Cross Medium friendly: aw yisssss

Specific Characters: Nope! Open to anyone!

Canons: Other superhero-y types (Marvel/Image comics/etc, MCU, Nolanverse), assorted Whedon-verse, Doctor Who/Torchwood, and I dig a lot of supernatural shows (incl. Supernatural itself, and my kingdom for some adolescent lycanthropes). Honestly I am up for anything. The DCU has a precedence for multiversal travel so almost any other canon can work.

Character types: Action types probably work best, proactive people who enjoy beating things up, and Steph could always use more badass ladies in her life.

Type of CR wanted: Mostly gen stuff, either friendly or antagonistic. Am open to shipping but it's not something I actively seek out.

Other: This comment was kind of particular to Steph, but I have a muselist avialable for perusing here and they're also available for cross canon CR.

Specific Characters: No specific characters
Canons: Generally canons that have some kind of supernatural element, or things like X-Men, things where basically, while running into a werewolf might be surprising, he's not a total break from what you could imagine existing in that universe. I do make some exceptions if the idea just sounds interesting, though. Also, I'm a particular fan of Grimm, so crossovers with that fandom are always welcome. He can pass for a blutbad.
Character types: Friendly, evil, whatever. I like surprises!
Type of CR wanted: A variety! Interaction with werewolf hunters/anyone who would hunt the supernatural would be fun. So would friendly/helpful interactions, like with people also frequently on the run. Romantic is interesting (I see both m/f and m/m working with him, but I'm not a fan of role playing sex itself typically)

Cross Medium friendly: Absolutely-yes!
Specific Characters: Ones that are around the same age as Rue would be good though I wouldn't be against any adults tagging her as well; I'm not very picky, and the girl could use some friends.

Canons: While I tend to tag my favorites (Sherlock BBC, Doctor Who, Harry Potter for instance) I'm pretty open to most live action canons. I won't ignore an animated one if someone really wants to tag Rue. Again, not very picky. I am also willing to play AU, 'existing in the same canon' if the other mun prefers it.

Character types: I try to have Rue tag people that I think she'll get along with, or I think might be interesting for her to interact with.

Type of CR wanted: Friendship and/or family-type, no romance or shipping.

Other: Just as a warning, I am prone to slowtimes.

Cross Medium friendly: Yes!
Specific Characters: I have a muselist here, and I'm willing to play any of them. Right now my strongest voices are John (Homestuck), Rin (Ao no Exorcist), and Watanuki (xxxholic). Also I have a journal for Ivy (Parasol Protectorate) and I'm really wanting to play her, though I haven't actually threaded with her yet so her voice might be a bit shaky.
Canons: I'm open to pretty much anything really. I'll admit I do love supernatural things, so if there's something supernatural about the canon that can be carried over to what we RP that would be nice. That said, you don't HAVE to play from a supernatural canon, anything is fine by me.
Character types: I play mostly derps, so character types that play off of derps really well would be the way to go.
Type of CR wanted: This will pretty much be positive CR. Most of mine are impossible to get negative CR with (Rin and Iskierka are pretty much the exception to that). Fluff, ADVENTURE!!1, sad, what have you, I like it all.
Other: This will probably be one-on-one in my musebox, and if it's not a weekend tags will probably be slow coming. Unfortunately I work two jobs, so my time to RP can be limited sometimes. That said, my weekends are pretty much free most of the time, so we can get ALL the RPing done then.
