The Trading Places Meme

-Respond with your characters.

-People who want to tag you can hit up the RNG for a number.

-Whatever number you rolled is what these characters have "traded". Depending on the number and circumstance, characters can either be aware of it or not. For example, they may not notice if they suddenly have a whole different set of memories, but they will notice if they've switched bodies.

-Shenanigans. Everyone please play nice. =D

THE THINGS-

1-Bodies- The old and far-from-tired "freaky Friday" plot. You suddenly find yourself in someone else's body. Now is a good time to flip out.

2-Backstory/Memories- Maybe their personality and current situation is in tact, but now they remember having the other person's past and childhood. It might be hard to explain why a highly trained soldier remembers being raised by criminals, so feel free to point out that something is amiss.

3-Roles- Maybe the bad guy had to go stop the hero from doing something insanely stupid, or the damsel in distress has to go rescue him. Either way, things are opposite of what they typically are. If you're having trouble understanding, think of that one spin-off game where Princess Peach had to go save Mario, or The Prince and the Pauper.


4-Universes- A combination of the above two; this is an AU prompt where one character is now completely and totally the other. Maybe that annoying comic relief is now the hero who has saved the world countless time, while basically everyone thinks the hero is annoying. Characters may or may not be aware of this change.

5-Canon- Another AU prompt. This time, your character has been adapted to the rules and conventions of the other character's canon, and vise-versa. Maybe it won't make much of a difference aside from a few vampire sightings, or maybe it'll mean your character is another species altogether.

6- Abilities- This mostly applies to those with powers, but characters who are just better at sports or math can join in on the fun. One person has the abilities of the other. If it's supernatural, maybe they don't have any control.  This may be hard to come to terms with, but that's what you get for being jealous of someone else's talents, or making fun of the superhero with the lame powers.

7- Choose your own!- Choose your own, combine the two, or come up with your own idea.

[ she wriggles her eyebrows and makes a photo-box with her hands, then pulling them apart, just like she'd done with the fourth wall~ ]

compared to the planets of the last system we visited, at least!
that would make it very hard to get a good look at it!

[he laughs, and puts his hands together to make a vaguely squiddle-like shape before drawing his hands apart. He manages it more easily this time, making the squiddle about twice as big as it was before.]

should we take a camera as we investigate, captain?

yes that would be a good idea :o
lets see im sure mine is around here somewhere!!

[ luckily it's on a nearby shelf, and Jade waves a hand at it, summoning a breeze to carry it to her. her aim's still off, but she manages to catch it with a jump, like a puppy fetching a stick, then giggles as she brandishes it at John with victory. ]

[he has to suppress some snickering for the camera, holding out the squiddle kind of like he would a fish he'd just caught.]

[ aaand she snaps the picture with a thumbs-up, and the pose makes her grin wider as she intensifies the whirlwind a little so that the squiddles are spinning even faster. they'd be pretty tough to grab now, but still soft and not painful when hit. ]

but the smaller ones look harder to catch...!

[but yeah, they are giving him a bit of difficulty. maybe their size just makes them easier for the wind to sweep them along! but he is not giving up, and after a good number of attempts manages to snag one.]

but oh nooooo it looks like the others are angry now so watch out!!!!!

[ she mischievously aims the wind straight at John and lets the squiddles fly at and dog-pile on him. pillow plushie fight go! ]

[suiting action to words, trying to bat some of them away with the one he's holding]

... i mean, they are not going easy :o

[ true enough, the tanglebuddy attack intensifies! though she does giggle, silly john, squiddlekind is not your specibus and you can do better than that! ]

[popping up for a moment to try and get a grasp of the situation before falling back into the pile

and basically to get an idea where Jade is and try to teleport a couple of tanglebuddies over her way]

gosh joh--i mean, mr first mate that is a silly question!
obviously its because mmfhhdfm

[ and John just so happened to warp a squiddle right onto her face. awww this isn't the tangling she wants! she spits out a tentacle, bluh! ]

[popping out again with a look that is totally worry and not a grin of partial triumph threatening to take over, nope]

oh nooooo send the medicbots, quick!!!

[ shhhh what kind of spaceship wouldn't be complete without robotdoctors! she pretends to cough dramatically before falling backwards (onto a convenient pile of squiddles of course~) ]

[no spaceship that truly wants to be called a spaceship!]

they're coming as fast as they can!

[it's amazing how much the medicbots of the future still sound like today's ambulances, as John gets out of his pile and heads on over, hands out in front of him like he's holding on to a steering wheel.]

ummm i mean, barf??

[ what kind of sound do wounded people make anyway! she sticks her tongue out and holds out her arms like a zombie, trying not to giggle. ]

[probably mostly groaning and 'ow ow ow ow' and also strings of cursing or maybe 'oh wow that's kind of interesting' if they're that way inclined]

[John stops a little way in front, and does his best imitation of a worried beeping medicbot (it's not that good, unfortunately)]

the medicbots aren't sure they've seen this one before, captain, but they'll do their best! how are you feeling? [leaning in to examine her tongue]

[ don't worry dude she thinks that your imitation is perfectly fine! for now she'll obediently open her mouth wider, as if for a dentistry exam or a thermometer, showing off sharp canines~ ]

i think im feeling okay so far!
i just dont know how healthy it is to have licked a squiddle tentacle though, ehehe :D
