It wasn’t long before Octavia fell for the kind man that took her in but it was longer still before she found out that Elijah was a vampire. The night before Octavia had watched Elijah kill a man from a hiding spot as she had become suspicious of the older male. She watched silently as Elijah killed the man and showed his true colours. It was that reason Octavia had ran away again. Her mind just couldn’t wrap around what she had seen.
So now she was in some beat up old motel room, having used Elijah’s card that she had pilfered, picking at her supper. She wasn’t hungry but she knew she needed to eat because in the morning she would need to get further away.
(OOC: I'm horrible at starters so I'm sorry.)

[OOC: Works just fine :) Sorry for the delay. ]
Naturally, Elijah had realized that Octavia would need to find out eventually. But he had wanted to choose the moment and the circumstances. He was Elijah Mikaelson. He had a plan. And in true Mikaelson fashion, that plan had gone completely up in smoke.
He'd taken in Octavia at a time when he desperately needed something and someone to remind himself of his humanity-- or at least, the vestiges of it that remained after a thousand years. The girl had been exactly the presence to bring him back from the red door in his mind that locked away his most violent nature, and for that, he had come to truly adore Octavia. Even including ways that were inappropriate for the girl's guardian.
Tracking her to the motel had been simple. Outside her door, Elijah steeled himself. Although he knew surprising her like this would not be how he would prefer to handle things, neither could he allow the girl to raise an alarm. Using the key it had been simple to bribe the front desk for, he unlocked the door, opened it, and stepped inside.
"Hello, my dear."

Octavia was up off of the bed and on her feet when her brain register exactly who stepped into her room. How had he found her? Was that one of his powers? Scared and angry, Octavia kept the bed between them, her supper completely forgotten.
"Get out. I didn't invite you in here," Octavia said, straightening her back and standing her ground. There was only one door out of the motel and Elijah was standing in front of it. Her choices were either to stand her ground or hide in the very gross bathroom.

"I only came to talk," Elijah replied calmly, raising his hands up in a placating gesture. "I'd like to think that you and I have become too close to leave things as they are." Naturally, he didn't mention not wanting to have someone running around with the knowledge of what he was and not knowing whether or not she could be trusted with the secret.
"I'm sure you're very shocked. I had planned to tell you in my own time, to make sure you understood that I pose no threat to you, or anyone who would not deserve it." He moved forward slowly. "Would it help you to know that the man you saw killed intended to very unpleasant things to our neighbors, and had done similar things many times before?"
no subject
Octavia trusted Elijah or at least she had until she had seen him kill the man. He had taken her in, taken care of her and showed her what the world could be like, and they had gotten close. Really close. Close enough that Elijah would get into serious trouble because of her age.
"You're a vampire. How don't you pose a threat to me?" Octavia demanded scowling. "You have kill people. You're a murderer."
no subject
Elijah stopped, but most certainly did not back away. It was a delicate path he was walking at the moment, trying to find a way to regain Octavia's trust, but he had a feeling the affections that had grown between them were stronger than her fear. He only had to remind her of that.
"You're right, my dear, I am a vampire. And in all the time we've spent together, have I ever threatened you or put you in danger? Octavia, if I were planning on killing you, then you would already be dead. Removing you from my life is the last thing I want."
His hands lowered, his posture becoming more casual and less guarded. "I could also easily make you come back with me, but I'm not doing that. I want you to come back with me because you want to. Because you remember how very much I care for you, and how you care for me. You can't tell me you've forgotten."
no subject
"Show me," Octavia said not moving from her position against the wall. "I wanna see them." The fangs. She was scare of them but also very curious about them. A lot curious than she should be.
no subject
There had been many times since Octavia had come into his life that Elijah had warned himself against the relationship. But there was too much strength and life in the girl, and too much need for him and the mature stability he could provide. Octavia had simply been too good to resist, and so he hadn't.
And as he had little success indulging the girl before, he did as she asked now. Elijah looked down for a moment, then raised his head again. His eyes went dark, and faint black lines appeared on his skin, radiating out from them. His lips curled back, exposing his fangs sliding into place.
no subject
But she was also very curious and maybe a little excited at the sight. Octavia wasn't one to play by the rules, not with her strict up bringing, but she knew she shouldn't be excited at the sight of Elijah's eyes and fangs.
"Don't move," Octavia ordered as she moved closer. She was nervous and scared but there was a glimmer of trust as she moved forward. She stopped about five feet away from Elijah, not daring to move closer, though she was tempted to touch. "You never wanted to hurt me? Never wanted to feed from me?"
no subject
Elijah stood still as she approached. "I never for a moment wished for harm to come to you, Octavia. You are far too precious to me." He paused a moment, then took a gamble before replying to her second question. "But I confess I have thought of tasting you... drinking can often be a very sensuous act."
no subject
"If you drank from me wouldn't that hurt me? Or even kill me?" Octavia asked watching Elijah like a hawk. She thought she had a chance at running, not realizing that Elijah was super fast and strong.
"And why didn't you tell me this? Why did I have to find out like I did?"
no subject
"If done skillfully, it wouldn't have to hurt any more than... other things you've asked me to do before," Elijah said, politely glossing over the fact that some of their intimate liaisons had not necessarily been of the slow and sweet variety. However, he was sure Octavia understood.
"And I am far too experienced to lose control and harm you."
The girl's next question, though, did disturb his balance, just a bit.
"The truth is, Octavia, I never expected to care for you the way I do. You mean far too much to me. I wanted more than anything to avoid what happened. But now that it has, I wish I could take it back."
no subject
"Didn't think you would care for the little orphan that followed you home?" Octavia asked and there was a hint of a smile on her lips because she hadn't given Elijah a chance to get away when they first met. "You said you wanted to tell me? Was it going to be soon?"
no subject
The blush was rather lovely on the young woman's face, but Elijah didn't mention it. Instead, he addressed her question.
"I've taken in young people before to help them over the years," he explained. "But I've taken very few of them to bed. Or into my heart."
Elijah could feel Octavia's attitude shifting slightly in his favor. Not too far, but in the right direction. "Soon. I was going to show you some of the more appealing aspects of my nature first."
no subject
"How old are you?" Octavia asked though she wanted to know how many others there had been. It was none of her business though and it wasn't something she could change either. "And what appealing aspects? Are you talking about feeding from me or are there other things?"
no subject
Elijah let the barest hint of a smile touch his lips. The question of age was always the first one that came out of the mouths of those fascinated with his kind and their legend. That Octavia's line of questioning had shifted to such curiosities was a good sign.
"I was born in what is now Mystic Falls, Virginia... around 977 AD." He let Octavia perform the math from there.
He shrugged as he moved on to her next question. "I was planning on introducing you to the further extents of my strength and, er, stamina that I've not let you experience before."
no subject
"Even more stamina?" Octavia proceeded on with his words. Even more questions filling her head. "You always leave me worn out and you're telling me you could keep going?" She couldn't believe it. Elijah would definitely have to show her.
"Do you give your word that you'll never purposely harm me?" Octavia asked as she moved closer to the vampire. She knew Elijah and she knew how much his honour meant to him.
no subject
The vampire snickered. "That I am, but I have been told I don't look a day over 600." There were most certainly disadvantages to living for so long, but being eternally in the prime of his life was not one of them.
Elijah was pleased to detect few traces of Octavia's fear and apprehension about his nature. Instead, he could feel her pulse quickening in a more familiar, pleasant way, and there was even just the slightest hint of near arousal.
At her insistent last words, though, his expression turned serious, but earnest. "I swear to you, my dear, no true harm will ever come to you intentionally by my hand. In fact, I will protect you with every bit of my power."
no subject
"Can I see them again?" Octavia asked and she lifted her hand this time, to touch Elijah's cheek. Now that her fear was gone and her trust back, Octavia was curious and maybe a little excited. It was fun to play with danger sometimes.
no subject
When Octavia came up to him, her manner changed, Elijah felt himself relax. There was acceptance in her expression, and relief at knowing that she was safe with him, even knowing his true nature. And it was the truth-- he would never allow harm to come to the girl who had become so precious to him.
And his relaxation was not complete-- her sudden physical proximity engaged Elijah's other feelings for Octavia, and his hands dropped comfortably to her trim waist. With a smile, he let his fangs slide into place with a low, suggestive snarl.
no subject
She trailed a finger over Elijah's bottom lip before touching one of the fangs, pressing her finger pad to the sharp point and breaking the skin. She gasped softly at the sharp prick of pain. "They're sharp."
no subject
Elijah's lips close softly over her finger, gently coaxing a single drop of blood out. It hits his tongue and nearly sizzles with a heady flavor. He smiles and releases her.
"The better to taste you with, my dear."
The hands at Octavia's waist tug her closer, and he leans down, his mouth seeking the girl's. A low, rumbling sound game from Elijah's chest as he felt a different kind of hunger for her rise inside of him.
no subject
She melted against the vampire, returning the kiss and wrapping her arms around his shoulders as she opened her mouth against his and her tongue flickered out against his bottom lip.
no subject
Elijah caught her tongue between his lips for a moment, then pressed his own forward, tasting the girl more deeply. "So, my dear," he drawled as they kissed, "are you interested in that demonstration now?"
no subject
Her hands rubbed his shoulders and neck softly as she spoke between kisses with Elijah. "I think so," she said because she was curious and she knew Elijah wouldn't hurt her. She just didn't know what was holding her back.
no subject
"So is this depressing little room acceptable, or do you have enough patience to come home with me first?" Either one was fine by Elijah. He'd enjoyed company in places far more unsightly than this, but he had been able to tell right away Octavia's distaste for it.
no subject
"Will you be able to wait until we get home?" Octavia returned the question back on Elijah because she wasn't sure if she be able to sit with him in a car. She was curious and eager though the hint of hesitation was still there but getting smaller with each kiss from the vampire.
no subject
"There are always things we can do to pass the time," Elijah pointed out, his eyes glittering with suggestion.
"But I suppose you have a point. I suppose I should just endeavor to keep you thinking about what we're doing, and not where we're doing it." He leaned down for another kiss, hands starting to roam over Octavia's body until he was caressing her through her clothes.

With the way Octavia melted into his kiss and his hold, Elijah could tell that the girl was sufficiently distracted from the venue. Reaching down, he easily swept her up into his arms, carrying her to the bed and laying her on it.
Carefully removing his jacket, he folded it on the back of a chair, then toed off his shoes before joining her on the bed. His mouth found hers again while his hands resumed their groping exploration of her young body.
