THE AUTUMN MEME

It's that time of year again; Autumn.
Whether it's raking the leaves or running to Starbucks for a Pumpkin Spice Latte,

the season is back upon us and it's time to enjoy it before winter comes.
 

Scenarios: 
Look at all the pretty colors - Maybe you just feel like strolling down the street and looking at all the leaves turning colors. Maybe you're shopping for something to fit in with the autumn theme. Or you could be setting up an easel to try to capture how the trees look like they're on fire. Just enjoy the turning shades.

I didn't agree to be in this movie - Yes, it's that time again, fog time. It can be creepy or beautiful or both and guess what? You're trapped in it. Are you alone? Are you at home looking out the windows, or stuck somewhere waiting for it to clear so you can drive? Maybe you're walking home late at night and the fog is as creepy as hell and was that the sound of someone sharpening an axe?

Something to warm the cockles - Coffee house prompt. You want your pumpkin spice latte and you want it now. Or maybe you want extra nutmeg. Or maybe someone made a pumpkin cheesecake and you want the line to move faster before someone gets the last piece. You're in a coffee house and there's coffee. Have fun with that.

I just raked that - Yes, it's lawncare time. You've been ordered to clean up your yard and make nice efficient piles. Or maybe you're strolling down the street and you happen to see a nice pile just begging you to jump in. Or push your friend. Or maybe someone's dog or cat is hiding in one and is ready to jump out and scare the crap out of you. Only one way to find out.

But it's only so many days until Halloween - Oh. You're one of those. The ones that love Halloween and start setting things up as soon as there's a slight briskness to the air. Well, time to go shopping. Or maybe you need to start setting up the decorations in the window. Or the yard. Or buying candy to appease the inevitable hordes. Halloween comes but once a year, so get ready for it while you can.

Wildcard - There are plenty of autumn activities to do. Make some up on your own, be it strolling with a friend or curling up with someone special and enjoying something sweet

[Ginny's not one for shying away from things that don't necessarily belong to her. So when the dead-eyed barista calls out 'An-slee' a second time and then gives up, Ginny gives the abandoned cup a poke while she waits for hers.

A minute later, her own pumpkin-scented latte in hand, unsure if she's looking for a guy or a girl to hand this second cup off to, Ginny takes it with her when she steps over to the sugars-and-milk table. While attempting to drown her own drink in cinnamon, she hollers out:]

Ainslie!

[And shakes the named cup at eye-level. If whoever this cup belongs to didn't hear that, they must be dead, and Ginny is absolutely going to walk off with...whatever this ends up being.]

(don't know how these two met in the pandemonium that was the costume shop, but really boring halloween outfits procured, their attempt at a walk home is met with thick fog and an eerie october 30th background track. what time is it, anyway? way past his bedtime.)

It's okay, Matsuno-san. Next year, I'm sure all of the cool costumes won't be sold out.

[ The smell of autumn was welcome compared to the heat of the summer. The leaves changing was pretty, sure. The temperature getting lower helped a lot, definitely. But the scents that came with it all were probably Natasha' favorite thing about it. That included the seasonal specials rolled out at various places.

Stopping for coffee was a must while they were on the road. And when Natasha saw they had brought back the pumpkin spice drinks, it wasn't like she could resist indulging. Eventually, she carried both back out to the car, overcast above and the music becoming more clear as she got closer to the car. The chorus greeted her as Frank opened the door for her.

You're a shining star, no matter who you are.
Shining bright to see, what you could truly be.

She hands off one cup after getting in. ]
