Teammates?

Team Tension Ideally, a team works like a well-oiled machine, with all the cogs existing in harmony. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that two team members hating each other could easily lead to disaster. But have you ever considered the consequences of two team members liking each other...too much? Love or attraction can be a dangerous force, even when you're on the same side. Can you both be professional? Or is this a reason somebody needs to make a "no intra-team dating" rule? "Team" is pretty loose here. Superhero team, sports team, debate team, #squadgoals, I don't care. Just comment with your preferences and reply to others.

[Another mission completed, and they were back here again, alone in the weapons room. Mainly just needed to drop off and check on things. With how strange and powerful an enemy can be, or numerous, things weren't always going to be in peak condition.

Hei took off some armored gauntlets and set them onto the table with a sigh. Another Stark toy, meant to give him more of an edge with his abilities. Didn't work so great when punching near invincible people.]

Remind me to get Stark back on this toy.

[And off he went to take off his coat and wire belt. Really, weapons breaking was nothing new for him in the past. If anything, he was happier here being apart of the Avengers. He thought for sure they'd haul him off to jail for his own crimes. Why not? He earned a reputation as the Black Reaper in Japan and South America, even Russia. And yet no one seemed eager to bring him in.

Made him happy, even if things were chaotic. He'd rather be fighting killer robots than take one more life any day of the week. He glanced over his shoulder, spotting Natasha. More and more, he kept finding himself alone with her, but unable to say much. He wondered what was this feeling exactly.]

It's probably for the best that you make your own toys.

[ Natasha usually relies on her own gadgets. Not that she's an inventor, but everything has a use when applied correctly. For her, wire is more useful than a superpowered glove. Though she is partial to her widow's bite. She brushes her hair back, glancing at him. He worked well, as quiet as her. But Natasha has been in and out of the field for so long that she can't tell if that's a good sign. ]

It always is.

[ And when it isn't, she adapts. ]

I'm not so handy. These masks for example--[He holds one up.] Have a tendency to break often in real fights.

[At best, they did block a bullet or two. At least the gloves gave him the option of more long-range combat.

Next to come up were the knives as he held them up. Still good, still sharp. At least that remained consistent.]

Luck has little to do with our line of work. Why even use masks?

To block shots to the face, just in case. I prefer to be prepared for the unknown.

Wouldn't a mask attract attention to the face and make people want to shoot it?

My coat is bulletproof thanks to whatever the Syndicate did to it; likely Gate particles. My face is about the only thing left to shoot. What kind of person wouldn't aim for the most vulnerable spot anyway?

How you paint yourself in the eyes of others is how you live and die. People look at me and see someone ordinary. That's why they lose.

This costume was made with opposite idea of that, to give meta-humans a reason to be afraid. [He paused, realizing how bad that sounded.] ...Syndicate design. Besides, if I show off my face, going undercover, if allowed, would be a tad harder.

[He gave Widow a quick up and down look.]

You don't quite seem that ordinary to me.

[ Her smile stretches a bit far, an uncanny thing. She's not used to doing it in an honest context. ]
