[it was Osomatsu who screwed up this time. not that hard to believe, considering he was probably the most useless member of the Matsuno Family. now he needed help fixing his problem, and, surprise, he's dragged his brother into his mess.

probably the most irritating thing is that Osomatsu doesn't seem worried at all. he's treating this day like it was any other day, not as though his life depended on his success. that's what happens when you're a spoiled jerk, you expect other people to clean up your messes for you while you continue coasting along. and that's what Osomatsu expects.

this person they were waiting on should have been taken care of ages ago. he owed the Matsuno Family money, but Osomatsu kept putting off his duty, and now the man had protection. he was almost always constantly guarded, so a lot of time was spent waiting around for this guy to be alone. and that was boring, waiting was boring.

It was not what she had signed up for. Her opinion had not been sought nor did she have a choice. When one was a translator and code creator for a major family, one's life tended to not become their own.

Kate Cordello was amazing at what she did. She had a natural ear and tongue when it came to learning languages. Even better, she could create codes on the fly. It had been a childhood hobby with her friends used for passing notes in class so that others couldn't read them. Childhood had then given way to adulthood and with it some very bad choices. Choices that she had thought right at the time but events had played out differently than expected. It was called hindsight for a reason.

She tried to make the best out of a bad situation. She got to travel. She got to meet interesting (some in the vaguest sense of the word) people. It wasn't completely terrible until they told her they were loaning her out. It wasn't forever. They needed her to make nice and work for a consortium in Eastern Europe. What they were getting in return wasn't made known to her.

There she was, in an flat in an city that she didn't want to be in. What was worse? She had a babysitter. Kate couldn't even have any wine because she might have to work tonight. The night could always get worse, she knew better than to even suggest a thing.
