The Be My Therapist Meme

Your characters have been trapped in a strange but comfortable room, with a big desk and couch, and now have to spend some time either talking about their problems or listening to other people's problems and trying to give good advice. Both is fine, too.

The room itself will compel them to at least try to play those roles, and will only release them after they do what it wants them to do.

The problems can be silly or serious, deep or shallow, it's all up to you.

[The List Of Possible Problems]

1. Small but still sucky problems that are just bothersome- They've gotten bad grades at school, they have a bad hair day, they fought with a friend about something really silly, etc etc.

2. Love, relationships and family problems - They're fighitng with their SO, they think their spouse might be cheating on them, they have Mother/Father Issues, their siblings are their worst enemy, etc etc.

3. Lifechanging problems - They flunked out of school, they find out they have superpowers, they find out they are the only one who can pilot a super robot, etc etc.

4. 'Our world as we know it is in danger' type problems - The Dark Lord is raising and is trying to take over their world, they have zombie problems, the Evil Space Empire is coming for their planet, their experiments with time travel ended up unraveling reality, etc etc.

5. Work related problems - They have to deal with the boss from hell, how are they supposed to defend the Earth with all those budget cuts, etc etc

6. Money problems - They have to deal with budgeting, inheritance problems, etc etc. Or maybe they just can't afford that fancy car...

7. Trauma related problems - Something bad happened to them, be it the deaths of important people or being trapped in a warzone or anything else, and they have to deal with the resulting trauma.

8. Really cracky problems - I hate my superheroine uniform, my brother always chews my slippers when he turns into a werewolf and I wish he'd stop, etc etc.

9. Something else

[How To]

1. Post as your character. (Please write down the name and canon/fandom of the character in the subject line, and also if they're canon, AU, crossover or OC, etc.)

2. Please choose your character's role - Therapist (Counsellor) or Client - and set the first scene. Setting the scenes for both is fine, too. (It is also all right for the characters to take turns being the therapist and the client, if that's what you want to do)

3. Tag, thread and have fun!

He waves it off.

Rikku lays on the chaise lounge improperly off the side, her head hung playfully with her long blonde hair folded on the pale carpet. In her hands is a pen and notepad, and she watches as she draws a stick daisy.

"I know, I know, wrong chair, but I just thought we could do a little 'reverse psychology' today."

She peers up, looking at her patient who, in her position, is upside-down, and gestures to the therapist's chair.

"Have a seat, kiddo!"

Alielle was new to this whole 'therapy' deal, but she desperately needed help!

So, upon hearing Rikku's instruction, the blue-haired girl quickly took her seat. The way the therapist was positioned was fairly odd, but then again, what about this situation wasn't?

"Uh, yeah...'reverse psychology'. Okay." She said simply, feeling a tad fidgety. Wanting to get straight to it, she held out her hands. Two fingers on each hand were connected by a Chinese Finger Trap, and despite her best efforts she couldn't get her fingers loose.

"Do you....think you could help me with this? It was fun at first, but I can't get it off, and it looks kinda silly now." She admitted.

Lucifer lounges on the couch as he waits for the therapist to enter, usually it was him that was late but this was urgent and he needed to rant to someone that was unbiased to who he was.

Was this Odin's new form of punishment? As if solitude hadn't been enough Loki had know been ordered to see a therapist to talk about his 'issues', not that Loki thought he had any that weren't justified by everything that had been reviled to him, making his whole life a lie.

"If you're expecting me to come to some miracle revelation, you will be waiting a very long time."

Elaine Belloc smiles when he makes his cynical comment. It's not a sneer, it's not a mocking grin, she just smiles and lets him talk. That's what he's here for, right?

"That sounds like resignation, you know," Elaine says, placing the notepad on the desk next to the pencil. It's like she has no plans to write up anything. She doesn't need it either. If he wants to play the waiting game, she is patient. She also happens to have a lot of time in her hands. If she doesn't, she can always stretch a moment to last an eternity. "Learning that one is adopted feels waking up one day and realizing the sky is painted outside the window. That nothing makes sense or is real anymore. And finding out this from any other source but your parents can shatter your trust in them too."

She isn't judging him. She looks in his direction sympathetically. She knows how that is.

"But what would you have preferred? To be their biological son? To learn this sooner? Or to not be adopted in the first place?"

Therapist

Neku isn't exactly a paragon of emotional openness- but after being refined three times over and generally learning a lot about himself and people in general through the Game he's actually not a bad ear or shoulder when it comes to it. And while he's not excited about having to do this, he's gonna at least try.
