Kryptonite. Depending on the color, it can do all kinds of whacky things to poor Superman. But for this meme, let's say that the rock just happens to work on your character. Or perhaps someone you really care about. Or just someone nearby. Maybe you sought the stuff out to use against someone. Who knows? Most people are totally immune to the effects but for you/them? There's nothing for it but to get it AWAY. So:

As for your options...
Red
You know that pesky conscience of yours? GONE. Say all those things you've wanted to say, do those things you've been too NICE to do. Let loose the (usually VIOLENT) asshole in you with some Red.

Orange
Totally normal human? Well, a bit of Orange will give you all kinds of powers and abilities. Of course, they probably have consequences and your control isn't going to be stellar, considering. Not to mention the chance of going mad with power...

Gold
NOT a totally normal human? Want a 'normal' life? Exposure to Gold will make those pesky abilities disappear forever. Of course, you might need them later...

Green
Green is pure poison. Makes you sick, makes you feel weak, hits your stomach like a brick, and your head is a MESS. Being anywhere near green will screw you RIGHT up and if you don't get away from it, it WILL eventually kill you.

Blue
Blue is a little like Gold... except the effects are entirely temporary. Feel like a break from hearing people's thoughts or tired of breaking every door you use? Blue is a nice vacation away from being special.

Periwinkle/Purple - Feel like loosening up your tie a little? Letting go of your worries? Periwinkle is just the thing to drop all of your inhibitions. Whatever you've been too afraid to do or say, those worries you've had weighing you down... not a problem while you're around Perwinkle.

Pink
My, you've never noticed just how attractive that one friend is. And you've never really found someone like them terribly attractive. That's Pink. Pink slides you around the sexuality spectrum. Where? Well, that's up to you.

Silver
Feel like taking a trip? Silver is a one way ticket to Hallucinationville, population you. There's also apparently a possible craving for brownies involved?

Black
Ever wanted to split yourself right down the middle? Black can do that for you. Exposure to Black will split your good and your evil sides apart into two separate people faster than you can say Doctor Jekyll. How do you become whole? There's probably something about accepting your inner darkness but, you know. You do you.
