[ he's being patronised. jake's pretty sure he's being patronised. it's okay, it comes with the job territory. he scrunches his face up as he puts his coffee down, getting his own phone out now and following. ]

He tried to assault you. [ there's a lot of confusion there, but no skepticism. jake wouldn't put it past creeps and assholes to prey on women in alleyways, of course, but the whole car thing and the dude-running-away-almost-crying thing leaves a giant hole in the story. this lady is also way too untraumatised, though she also seems way too grouchy (and like too much of a hard-ass) to be a liar. he hovers there for a second, trying to decide what to do. he could call it in and get someone on the case, but the skeleton crew at this time of night isn't going to do much given that nobody's in immediate danger. which means, if anything's going to be done, jake's going to have to head it up himself. ]
