Hurt/Comfort - Hurt/comfort is a fan fiction genre that involves the physical pain or emotional distress of one character, who is cared for by another character. The injury, sickness or other kind of hurt allows an exploration of the characters and their relationship.

1. INJURY. You've been injured. Broken bones or bleeding out or maybe just a tiny little papercut. The choice is yours.
2. SICKNESS. You're sick and laid up in bed, at home or in a hospital. The severity is up to you.
3. FEAR/ANXIETY. Something is happening and you're scared beyond belief.
4. LOSS OF SENSES. Sight, touch, taste, hearing, smell, etc. You've lost some important sense or ability and now you're left to deal with it.
5. DESPAIR. Nothing is good or right anymore and you can't shake the depression. Maybe that friend of yours can help though...
6. BREAKUP. You've been dumped. You need someone to comfort you, possibly by the one who dumped you.
7. MAKE UP. Fight or break up, it's time to makeup.
8. RESCUED. You've just been held captive and/or tortured for however long and finally, someone has come to the rescue.
9. BAD ROMANCE. Fight, cheated on, abused, whatever the case is, someone else can clearly see you need comfort from someone who isn't your terrible lover tonight.
10. LOSS. You've experience a loss of some kind and need help getting through it.
11. INSANITY. You're seeing things that aren't really there, hearing voices, or you're just convinced you're at your wit's end finally and you're going to crack. Maybe someone can give you a helping hand.
12. TIRED. You've had a heard life recently and you're just worn too thin to really care anymore. There's no fight left in you anymore. Can someone help change your mind?
13. ADDICTION. Drugs, alcohol, sex, gambling, or any other type of addiction has got you in its grasp. First time or relapse. Will someone be able to save you?
14. INSOMNIA. You can't sleep anymore, no matter how hard you try. Maybe someone can give you company.
15. NIGHTMARES. Or, on the other end of the spectrum, you can't sleep without gruesome, horrible nightmares. Either someone is stuck in your dream with you, witnessing it or they're just waking you up, soothing you out of it.
16. BLACKMAIL. You've been caught doing something you shouldn't and you were blackmailed because of it
17. SEPARATION. You're going to be separated for awhile or were separated for a long time. Either make up for lost time or try to spend every last moment together.
18. VIOLATED. You've been violated in some way. Can include sexual overtones or not. Can someone help you through it?
19. STRANDED. You've been stranded somewhere remote, with no help of anyone finding you for awhile. Can you survive this together?
20. SINS. You're feeling the weight of your sins and guilt clearer than ever. Can someone give you absolution or lessen the ache any?
21. SECRET. It's difficult having to keep that secret of yours, be it a relationship or something you just don't want to share with anybody else. Maybe it's okay to talk about it now though...
22. ADDITION. Babies should be joyous things unless you're in a situation where you know you won't be able to care for them. Either you've adopted or found out you're pregnant.

[Sakuya wasn't physic, merely intuitive. Every night at the same time roughly, there was a quick checking up on everyone in the mansion. To replace stuffed animals, readjust blankets or even administer medicine without waking the person. Soothing Nightmares were usually either to wake the person up or try to clam them as they slept. It was the time she felt that she did her job perfectly as sleepy minds tend not to spot mistakes but even then..

Sometimes she was a bit lost on what to do. Seeing Remilia stuck in a nightmare let all that go out the window. It took a moment or two but finally the maid, in her own pjs because she was planning on going back to sleep and dealing with her own nightmares and dreamscapes after she was done, entered and lay down beside her mistress.Pulling her into a light, easy to break out of, hug and starts trying to whisper soothingly.]

Nurse Chapel had been recently assigned to the USS Enterprise and she couldn't be happier. Anyone who knew her knew that she had a dream to become a doctor and now she was well on her way to fulfilling that dream. Dr McCoy had even agreed to help her out every now and again and teach her a few things. He really wasn't a bad guy once you got past the grumpiness. Every time the crew went out on an away mission she got nervous that something would go wrong and someone would injure themselves. Of course she had faith in the ability of all the members of this team but things happened. I guess that's what they were there for. She was just about to finish her shift that day when the team were warped back on board the Enterprise, a minor casualty among them. It seemed that the Captain had been a little too eager to persue one of the natives that he fell down the side of a cliff. Bones looked him over immediately as he came in and just rolled his eyes when he realised it was nothing too serious.

"Nurse Chapel could you take over here? I have some data to input before the end of my shift."

Technically her shift had finished but....well she didn't mind. She enjoyed her job after all. She made her way over to Kirk who was covered in scratches and two particularly deep wounds on his upper arm and side. She can't help her comment

"Didn't anyone ever tell you to look before you leap, Captain?"

[John Watson was a doctor. There was a certain ethical code he was supposed to stand by. Of course, whether or not that code would apply to an assassin he and Holmes hadn't been able to prove was such... Well. That was the part Sebastian wasn't sure about.

Still, a gunshot wound would be reported immediately if he went to a hospital. He didn't need that kind of attention right now. He needed someone who could treat it without a full hospital and without all the paperwork. He needed a field medic.

Which was why the burner cell was used to send a message. A video complete with time stamp to prove it wasn't old footage being used to lure him out, showing the shoulder wound. Hopefully the good doctor wouldn't be able to just ignore something like that. He also sent an address of a discreet hotel and the name to pick up the key under.

Whether or not he'd come was entirely up in the air, but it was worth a shot.]

[Awareness comes in a surge, and with a headache. The blast - whatever it was - knocked him flat, and while he may not have been completely knocked out, it certainly disorientated him. More so with the realization that his visor's completely nonresponsive, despite its familiar weight on his face; honestly, though, it doesn't hinder his ingrained reflex if hunting for threats.

The area is eerily silent, aside from the smell of smoke and ozone. A few other tells imply it had an EMP effect, which would explain the lack of visor function...it remain secondary to a new need. That of checking on the other...

76 hauls himself up with a wince, head whipping about despite the lack of sight. If he was stunned, then Mercy...]

[ It's been a hell of a day. Every day is it's own special kind of hell anymore, but today has been particularly horrible. About the last thing either of them had anticipated was running into Maine of all people, and yet there he'd been... Or, what was left of Maine had been there. It certainly hadn't been the Maine that Wash remembers--not with the way he'd attacked them, with a special interest in York. Even the two of them together stood little chance against Maine, but after he'd managed to get the better of them long enough to steal Delta straight out of York's implant slot, it had been far too easy to get rid of him.

Wash remembers hearing...things about Maine, about how he'd stolen Eta and Iota from Carolina before killing her, how he'd been the one to try stealing Gamma... Maybe it shouldn't be such a surprise that what he'd really come for was Delta, but the fact that he managed to get the AI doesn't seem to bode well. Especially not for York.

Since they'd managed to escape, he's had to half-carry her, afraid she might just topple over if he let her walk on her own. She hasn't said a word, and Wash hasn't tried to make her yet, having been far more focused on getting some distance between them and where they'd been attacked. Once he's found them some dumpy, abandoned building for them to hole up in for a while though, he has little choice but to let his focus settle on York and feel the concern rise in his chest. Sliding out from under her arm, he sort of positions her near a wall so she has something to lean back against should she feel like she might fall, or if she wants to sit down. Only then does Wash come to stand in front of her, hands going to her helmet, fingers working at the clasps in order to remove it. He just-- he needs to see her face. Needs to check how she's doing. Losing an AI that suddenly... It's not good for anyone. ]

[ They're the first words to leave his mouth since everything happened, and yes, he realizes it's a stupid question. But he's not sure what else to say, and dammit, he's worried. ]
