[The way Chara looks at the door so impassively hurts. They know what Frisk needs to do, and Frisk knows it to, but they don't want to. They really don't, especially after that last death and load.

Asgore's strong, and every time he lands a hard strike with his trident, it takes Frisk down. They're okay at dodging, especially after Undyne's spears, but this isn't like that. They can't run in the other direction, and Chara keeps looking at them and saying all you can do is fight, and the way Asgore nods pitifully as they keep fighting, as he keeps watching them die over and over and over.

Frisk thinks he's waiting for them to give up. They once saw a nature documentary, where a komodo dragon bit something and followed it for hours until it died. That's like this, but instead of poison it's the fact that they can't trick him into not fighting, and even if they could, his attacks are so bad it's hard to get far.

Frisk returns to the room where they saved, but they can't bring themselves to go back and face him. Instead, they turn back and slowly trudge back into the hall where Sans had met them, head bent as they sobbed.]
