It was a mixture an idiot not paying attention to where he was walking, another idiot who doesn't understand that people on the other end of the cell phone aren't automatically deaf, and people moving at a damn snail's pace when everyone else is obviously in a hurry.

Yeah, people do that. It's not really fun, but you learn to ignore or move around them.

It's a little hard to just move around when somebody literally stops right in front of you.

It'd be a lot easier if I could just hit them and go on. Way more cathartic.

Except there's this little thing called that's illegal and then my father will have to try to arrest you or you'll have to leave town again.

The world would be a better place if I could hit those people. They deserve it.

I'm sure it would knock some sense into them. It'd benefit the Sheriff. There's no way that he doesn't understand the urge.

Be able to give you a pass after breaking the law, no. And honestly, it probably wouldn't do them any good anyway, plus they might decide to try to sue you or Derek, and then there's all the potential legal issues.

So, yeah, not hitting random people is a good thing.

It's such a minor infraction. It's not like hitting someone is attempted murder or that serious. I'd understand if I wanted to stab them or do real damage.

I think there's money to spare for lawsuits, but it'd be annoying.

And it's not random, might I remind you. Idiots. I'd only hit idiots.

Yes, but striking another person counts as battery. Technically, laying a hand on someone else without their consent also counts, and comes with a two thousand dollar fine and/or up to six months in jail.

A punching bag would be much cheaper. Derek can probably get you one.

I didn't hit anybody, or get arrested today. So what's there to work on? Though, texting you to complain only helped minimally, I don't think there's a true better stand in for it.
