Elena's bonds were a touch on the crude side, though they hold her fast. Heavy rope wound around her wrists and parts of her forearms keep her upright and suspended. The other end of it was tied off to a branch above-one sturdy enough, so far. Her left foot dangled inches above the ground. Her right leg was hoisted up, a knot around her bare ankle, giving Elena's body a slightly more horizontal orientation.

And from her body her clothes had been cut or torn away; this was a process that Valter savored immensely, and so by the end of it Elena was left without even a scrap of clothing. A few thin red lines marked Elena's bare body where Valter's knife had 'slipped', cutting just barely into her skin. One along her upper back, another near her navel, and a third one at her hip.

Valter had made her hair ragged with his incessant pulling and tugging, even though earlier he had only made praise for how lovely it was and the way that it smelled. Or perhaps it was a comment on how lovely she smelled.

While her head was pulled naturally upward by her hair, her throat was perfectly vulnerable to him. It would certainly be bruised later by the way Valter handled her, his strong fingers tightening around her neck until he had stolen the air from her. None of it gave Valter any reason to slow his hard, rhythmic violation of her. He had called her a treat, earlier, and she certainly was.
