Especially if the latter has the former wrapped around their finger, knowingly or otherwise. To avoid tl;dr - suddenly, a wild bae approaches! Their attempt to turn you into a puddle of goo at the knees, whether purposeful or not, is very effective. This meme is pretty shamelessly for fluff, opening up, dokis, and also more dokis. Iori continued idly plucking at his bass' strings, in the absence of Lú. But, he seemed to get angrier as the day dragged on. Louder. The passive insults to nobody in particular evolved into a seemingly one sided, full-on shouting match with himself. He wasn't crazy - well, maybe the new hole punched into the brick wall was crazy, but that was only to keep himself from doing something altogether worse than leaving himself with a bloody fist. It grounded him, and centered him back into thinking clearly. Shame about the rest of the place though.

Orochi was being a-- well. Nuisance wasn't quite the word.

Auing it to heck and back

[Crowded. Crowded and dark. Water leaking from overhead pipes that doesn't even remember the color it was when it fell from the clouds so many miles above and ages ago. The neon lights sizzle, old, reflect in puddles where they turn the oil on the water into brief slick rainbows that spatter under the rush of worn, scruffy boots and bare feet. The air smells like ozone and frying food and damp corners, like sharp, desperate hunger and apathetic despair, like multi-toothed fish in shallow water and mud. Doors open out of rusting walls, down a step from the street, dark holes or ones full of fickle golden light, hungry mouths of their own that offer items for sale, item depending on the darkness of the hole and the sounds that struggle out of it. In the perpetual twilight, the permanent three in the morning darkness, the crowds never stop moving, buried deep in the bowels of the miles high city above. Never stop pressing and jostling and grinding forward or falling sideways or slipping into thin alleys to sell their souls. No one sensible even keeps anything in their pockets to be taken down here, anything of real value hidden deep somewhere in the layers of ragged clothes worn to keep out the pervasive damp and watching eyes.

Bultar would kill for a bowl of hot, soupy noodles.

She's wan and she's worn and she looks smaller and frailer than she used to, hollows in her cheeks. Being on the run has stretched her thin, taken some of the light from her dark eyes, drawn her face into points and tight lines. She could use her skills to keep the pressing crowd away, to watch without her eyes for sneaking fingers at her empty pockets or hungry eyes sizing up prey but even down here there are hunters. Looking for her and people like her. And she doesn't want to fight and run again. Not tonight at least.

The hustling crowd doesn't overwhelm her though and that's because she's not alone. Instead she's all but tucked into someone else, in front, almost enveloped by the coat edges of the man she's with, one hand tucked up and into that fabric as they maneuver the neon dripping street. Her eyes never leave the press around them, the lurking shadows and the waiting doorways, moving constantly, aware and awake even in her thin face but she does crane her neck, head tilting just a little to speak to her taller companion without looking at him and her pale fingers on his jacket curl just a little more as she asks:]
