JRPG Scenarios Meme

Alternatively known as, "I've been through this too many times in video games already."
For reasons unknown, your character is now in your typical Console RPG (or JRPG) setting. If they aren't originally from one, they are now. Whatever role or purpose they have is up to you. Here's a list of the cliches found in them to help you get started. Or you can just dive in, pick or RNG one of the options below and have at.
Music links included just because.
The Rules.
1. Post with your character. Include name and canon and preferences, whatever you want. Set up your scene, or leave a blank comment. It doesn’t matter.
2. When you tag someone else, use the Random Number Generator from 1-20 to pick a scenario. Or cheat and pick your own, or make your own, it's all good.
3. ?????
4. Profit. Have fun.
1. Exploring the World. (Music) You're ready to face the world, so go out and explore it. On foot, by boat, airship, dragon... Make friends and enemies along the way. Break down? Fix your transpo or charter a ride! Just remember: don't ask how Johnny gets everywhere before you do.
2. Absurdly Peaceful Town. (Music) How this town remained untouched and so quiet is beyond anyone's comprehension, but it's the perfect place to settle down or just spend the day in an inn. Or maybe you're a resident of this here town and some strangers have come by. Won't you be a host? (This option perfect for NPCs and those interested in more SoL scenarios.)
3. Shopping and Bar Hopping. (Music) It's necessary. Stock up on supplies, buy clothes, sell unwanted things, forge weapons, or listen in on the gossip.
4. Looking for Comrades and Friends. (Music) You've been separated from your group or you're on your solo journey. Along the way, you might meet new friends, old friends, or...old enemies who want to be friends. Tl;dr this is the meet and greet option.
5. Camping. (Music) You're camping. The accommodations and conditions may not be perfect but you'll have to make do. Have a good night (if you can manage to sleep).
6. Romance. (Music). Nothing brings two people together quite like journeying and risking your lives. Otherwise known as the obligatory romance option. Go with it.
7. Creepy Crawling. (Music) Dungeons and towers and forests. Gotta love 'em. What's that shadow moving over there...?
8. Fight fight fight. (Music) Either you're wet behind the ears (or someone in your group is) and sparring is in order. Or maybe this is a random encounter with a monster? Oh well, experience is the best teacher, and your best teacher is your last mistake.
9. Character Death. (Music) Time to bring the mood down just enough. Someone dear or important to you has passed away. (Standard content warnings apply here.)
10. Let's Blow this Joint. (Music) It's inevitable. There's always a point where someone gets captured or the entire group is arrested or sent into something like the Via Purifico. Or the weapons are taken away and you have to get them back somehow. Whatever the case may be, it's time for you to get your shit and get out of there!
11. Sidequests & Grinding. (Music) While not exactly integral to your journey but it is still important to crawl through those forests, run those errands, raise that Chocobo, go for those rare items, and seek out those people who could be very valuable to your team.
12. Final Dungeon/Boss. (Music) This is it: the moment you've risked everything for. If you've any doubts, do it before you enter because once you do, there's no turning back. Hope you're ready for the Big Bad, too. There's at least three forms to this bastard. And somewhere, someone's going to give you some kind of speech for encouragement. Or a very helpful item that could have been handy earlier...
13. ESCORT MISSION. (Music) No, not that kind of escort. This one is the unenviable task of leading an otherwise helpless (or just combat-less) person of importance from point A to point B and having to put up with their shit while protecting them from danger. And there's tons of it. Too bad? Well excuuuuse me, princess!
14. Mini-games. (Music) Yes, there's a war going on. Yes, people are dying. And, yes, monsters are scouring the land. But you really want to snowboard!
15. Shit's Crazy. (Music). Someone's stuck in a Status Effect. Someone ate the wrong thing and now they're super Buffed. Little kids are stealing your super special items and pretending to be you. Or Those Two Guys are bothering you yet again. (This is the crack option. Have fun.)
16. Celebrate Good Times Come On. (Music) There's a party because everyone (incorrectly) assumes things are fine and dandy, and you're going to have a good time, damn it. I don't care if you'd rather gain levels.
17. At Journey's End. (Music) It's over, at long last. Your goal finally attained, the world is safe. Say good-bye -- it's time to go home.
18. And now for something random. (Music) Do whatever.
