Grooming is an important part of many species' rituals. It keeps them clean, healthy, and content. And a good bath? It can change the whole tone of a day from terrible to relaxed and blissful. But nudity is sometimes viewed as a weakness - and it is almost always sexualized - so bathing is often kept a private matter. If you do share these moments with someone, they're almost always a significant other or a sexual partner. Like you're doing now. Whether it be after a battle or after sex (or before sex, even), the two of you are going to get clean. Be sure to help each other out with that, won't you? After all, there are places on the back that just can't be reached... [ Most of the time, they spend the later hours in Steve's room. There's less risk of worrying about whether or not the beds are going to hold them or rock them both out onto the floor, and the confined space of the egg bed makes it feel much more intimate when he wants to get close to him. Still, sometimes, it's nice to stay in Andyr's in order to take advantage of the private shower—not so communal as the rest of them or too open. So, when he doesn't find him in the usual place, he wanders the decks and lets himself into Andyr's room as quietly as he can, glancing at the drawings tacked on the walls as the door slides shut behind him and fills the quiet space with the sound of the shower. It's a vivid reminder of the days when they'd first met, when things hadn't been as easy as they currently are.

Now, there's not much to the fact that he strips down and joins him in the shower.

They'd seen each other naked more than a few times before they'd started this... thing. Maybe a relationship, though Steve is somewhat hesitant to put a label to it when he hasn't exactly asked Andyr if he'd be okay with it. Still, there's something completely different about easing the glass back and stepping into the large, steaming space, tile warm and wet under bare feet. Steve lets his fingertips graze the back of Andyr's arm as he closes them in, and then, his hand grips his elbow, stepping forward to kiss the line of his shoulder. ]

I thought we were gonna meet up in my room first. [ Said quietly against heated skin, and he just stands there for a second or two, grateful for the proximity and letting the spray soak him through as he leans against him. ]

(She usually had to check her entire room for any sign of Natsu, Happy, Gray and Erza before making her way inside her house. Once, she even found Cana in her tub! Still, Lucy couldn't help but let out a pleased sigh as she sank into the tub slowly.

The others were out on a job, and while normally she'd be all for the chance to earn something for her rent, this was a rare opportunity for her to relax before chaos rained down on her. Even Wendy was out, having taken a simple escorting job with Carla.)

I shouldn't get too relaxed...before I know it, something happens and I find myself caught up in whatever craziness Natsu has brought back!

[Natasha hadn't thought it through. Everything seems to have fallen into place; she's in hiding, and thus, she's free. For the first time in her life she isn't tied down to an agency. She has no shadow man to answer to or take orders from, and perhaps that had gotten to her head. Perhaps she had gotten ahead of herself, because in the terrifying high that she was experiencing with her sudden lack of limitations, Natasha had forgotten the good that came with being a cog in a larger machine. Particularly, medical attention.

She's not an idiot. She's been doing this long enough to know how to dress a wound herself, and she knows how to stitch herself up with little more than a needle and a large bottle of cheap vodka. This isn't an open wound, though, this is a broken rib; several, if she's going off of what she can feel with her fingers. If there's one way to make her useless, a broken rib is it.

She's been avoiding asking for help, lying in her safe house practically unmoving for days in the hopes that the pain would pass enough where she could do something. It was a waste of time though, she knows that now, and she also knows that she took the medical attention - particularly the pain killers and anti-inflammatory meds - for granted when she had full access to them. She can't leave. Even if she was capable of walking to and from the stores - she isn't - she's not willing to take the chance of being spotted by the wrong set of eyes. She can't run. She can't escape. She's locking herself away in the small, mediocre apartment not for her enjoyment, but for her safety.

But she has to get food, having just finished the last of the dry cereal. She has to get help re-wrapping her chest, because she can't do it on her own now with the way it's swollen. And damn, she needs to bathe. She's tried a couple of times now, but she can't manage to lower herself into the tub with the confidence that she'd be able to get back out, and Natasha Romanoff would be damned if she was stranded, naked, in a tub. She needs help. And at a time like this, Natasha doesn't have any allies to turn to, not ones that she trusts with her own safety.

Except for one.

Steve didn't want to be found but that didn't mean he couldn't be, especially by her. It had taken her a while but she had located him days ago, before all of this happened, and it was more for her own peace of mind than anything else. When family got worried, they called. When Natasha got worried, she traced. It's just the nature of who she is. She managed to get him a message, pulling strings from ancient unclaimed favors, and even then she didn't know for sure if he would show up. She hadn't seen him since they both slipped away. She thought about it more than she'd ever admit, but she doesn't want to see him again like this. She's vulnerable, and she's not comfortable with anyone seeing that, no matter how much they mean to her.

When she hears the door open her hand moves to the gun she has beside her on the bed, hand wrapping around it with her finger resting carefully on the trigger. She knows that it's him, though, she can tell by his heavy foot, and she waits patiently for him to find her in the bedroom where she sits on the edge of her mattress, wearing loose shorts and no shirt. Her chest is wrapped properly to keep her ribs in place, and when she sees him she stares wordlessly, eyes searching his face. She's looking for something. Anger. Betrayal. Annoyance. Something.]

I didn't know who else to call.

[ It's been a typical night in Hell's Kitchen. Which means Matt's bruises have bruises but there are sirens headed in the direction of the parking lot where he left a trio of unconscious thugs. He's actually getting back early, though, and looking forward to having an extra hour of two of not being on patrol for a change.

Of course, the moment he steps into the apartment, he picks up on a heartbeat that shouldn't be there, and the gentle sounds of water moving. A couple silent steps, and then he relaxes and chuckles to himself, recognizing the scents he associates with Frank.

He tucks the costume carefully away for safekeeping until the next night, then opens the bathroom door. ]
