Age of Sail

Age of Sail Meme
Welcome to the high seas and the Caribbean, in the Golden Age of Sail—and Piracy! Hoist anchors and set sail, because there’s adventure—and treasure—on the horizon.
Roles:
Piracy
A. Ship captain, of course, would you be found anywhere else? Command and the sea, those are your callings. Along with, of course, plunder.
B. Quartermaster, elected representative of the crew’s interests, and with power to veto the Captain’s decisions whenever the ship is not engaged in battle.
C. Crew. You’re in it for the plunder, and can’t be bothered with those pesky decisions. Unless, just maybe, you’ve got a mutiny in mind.
D. Cabin boy. Lowest in rank and newest on the ship, without any sailing experience of your own, but you’ll work your way up.
E. Stowaway. Whatever ship you’re on, whatever reason you have for running, you’d better hope you aren’t found.
The Law
F. Pirate-hunter. Maybe you’re working freelance, taking bounties where you find them, or maybe you are an officer of a royal navy, but either way, you’re tasked with bringing those lawless pirates to justice. There’s money in it, and glory for you.
G. Governor. You are the law, in your little corner of the Caribbean. Troops from the homeland, money and resources are yours, but anarchy is just one mistake away, and the pirates are always threatening your ships and those of your traders.
H. Honest sailor. You follow orders and don’t ask too many questions about them. Or the cargo.
I. Innocent Passenger. Honestly, you were just trying to get home, or to your new home in the new world. But now? Pirates.
Land-Lubbers
J. Innkeeper or Brothel Madam. When the pirates and sailors come into town, they’re going to need food, drink, and companionship. You’re here to provide that.
K. Shipwright. Ships and repairs, it’s all your business. You’re willing to serve any customer, and you don’t ask too many questions.
L. Wildcard! Who would your character be in the Golden Age of Sail?
Mix and match, pirates and pirate hunters, raid a ship or follow a map to treasure. Go get that horizon!

Raising sail!
So apparently, the great question of the Age of Sail was going to be ”who wore it better?” Unbelievable! The things a girl sacrificed for treasure…
Still, as their ship stalked the merchant galleon through the harbor on this moonless night, Nami found herself getting into the part. The gold embroidery was a cheap imitation, of course, and the blouse showed far too much belly for this cold evening in her opinion, and the leather leggings were cut far too low and styling her hair in that peek-a-boo look took forever…but looking over herself in the mirror of her quarters, Nami could see something of a resemblance. Halifar had told her to “think sultry and deadly.” Ha! Between her travels with Robin and Zoro, she’d have no want of inspiration there.
Her wardrobe complete, it was time for the Cat Burglar’s greatest heist yet.
As expected, the ship of Merchant-Prince Alfonso slowed in its passage past the lighthouse, where the fog ran thickest. The plan was to have “Miss Fortune” surprise the prince in his quarters, and in the confusion, Captain Halifar and the other six corsairs would punch a hole under the figurehead at the bow, slip in, and take over the ship. Nami’s navigational skills got them through the fog, and as Halifar and his corsairs swung quietly to the bow, she rappelled from their deck to the glowing window of the Merchant-Prince’s chamber, quiet as a shadow…and as her luck would have it, she wouldn’t even need her lockpicking expertise. The window wasn’t just unlocked, it was ajar. Alfonso’s idiocy was as legendary as his womanizing, apparently. Nami pursed her lipsticked mouth to mask a giggle. This was going to be more fun than she thought.
Now “Miss Fortune” made her entrance, leaping with a flourish into the middle of the lavish carpet of the well-lit chamber. Nami landed on her heels and had her flintlock (more or less) quickly out of its holster, and turned her eyes (well, the one that wasn’t covered by hair…) to the stately captain’s chair that had its back to her – and the figure slumped within it.
“Merchant-Prince Alfonso, good evening to you,” Nami purred. Had to purr, really, all the barflies in town swore Miss Fortune had a velvety quality to her voice, and Alfonso surely wouldn’t accept anything less. “So sorry for disturbing you, but the Blackwood Sails require some…emergency charity, and I’m afraid you’re the lucky donor.” She raised her flintlock to the level of her cheekiest smirk, aiming it at the chair that, strangely, had not spun around yet. “I hope you won’t be too cross with me.”
The chair did not spin around. Nami blinked. Maybe Alfonso had hit the bottle just a little too hard tonight? She tilted her chin back, clearing her throat. “A little too much whisky tonight, Alfonso?” she cooed. “It’s rude for a man to sit when Miss Fortune pays him a visit…”
Re: Raising sail!
Capturing the scum would be easy enough-their next target was obvious, the biggest fish left in their current pond, and the Merchant-Prince Alfonso was more than happy to cooperate. He even was willing to pay an additional tenth of the bounty assuming the pirates were taken alive-apparently, they had managed to offend a friend or five of his, and he though death would be too good. While capture was not necessarily Sarah's preferred method, if it paid that much extra, it was certainly worth pursuing.
Taking his flagship, the crew emptied it of all valuables and filled it instead with the fearsome sailors themselves. And his office? Well, it was made a simple task to enter, and a dummy version of Alfonso himself place in the chair, facing away from the only entrances-whether any invader took the door or the windows. When the sound of somebody landing on the floorboards of his office was matched by no other sound, Sarah made her way abovedecks alone.
Quietly entering through the door to the Captain's office, she was almost flabbergasted by the woman before her. Nami was, it seemed, dressed up as *her* of all people-and showed more definitively that she was attempting an impersonation with her words. Clearing her throat, and with Shock and Awe both drawn and leveled at Nami, the bounty hunter spoke up. "Perhaps Alfonso simply knows when he's dealing with a two-bit impersonator." If the voice-just as sultry as Nami had been told, though with a hard steel quality to it reserved for bounties that Nami had been lacking-wasn't enough to make it obvious who she was, turning around to face her would make it clear.
Re: Raising sail!
If this was who she thought it was, and she'd have to be an idiot to think anything else, then Halifar, the Blacksails, and her were all good as dead. Each patient stride of the woman behind her, with the heavy click of her heels on the carpet, seemed to make it more inevitable. Nami managed to close her mouth, hissing through her teeth. Of all the rum luck...a trap. And she'd walked right into it. Well, no, that brainless Halifar had walked right into it, but oh, seas, her reputation was shot if this got out.
Who cares about your reputation, the deadliest pirate hunter in Bilgewater Bay has her guns aimed at you!
Nami tried to still her breath, her heart practically bludgeoning her chest every second. Stay calm. Just had to play it cool, that was all. The harbor taverns called Miss Fortune a walking thunderstorm, as ruthless as she was beautiful...but there wasn't a storm Nami had met that she couldn't navigate her way through. So start navigating before she kills you! Swallowing carefully, she lifted her hands, finger well away from the trigger of her flintlock, her poofy white sleeves - a barely decent imitation of the two behind her - billowing in the night breeze like the white flags of surrender.
"Hey, come on...haven't you heard, 'imitation is the best form of flattery'? We went to an awful lot of trouble to flatter you. Don't even ask me how long it took to get your hair right." Nami dared to peek over her shoulder at the approaching huntress, her trademark wink paying a visit to her face. "Well...mostly. We were in a bit of a hurry and couldn't do justice to your - your incredible fashion sense. Really, this outfit? More of a summer ensemble, but I completely get it. A little tummy, a little upper arm, some leather, this incredible hair? You must breeze through all the boys' bounties..."
And now that the bounty hunter was close enough to the corner of her eyesight for Nami to see a wisp of her face, she winked again. "Maybe some of the girls too?"
So cool! Yes, Nami even impressed herself sometimes - all the more considering her brain was actually babbling keep talking, keep talking, oh please talk, please don't shoot, wow she's actually really pretty, prettier than me maybe, yes I should throw that in it might help me NOT GET SHOT come on come on...!
Re: Raising sail!
"Put your gun on the desk. Now." Clearly, Sarah wasn't exactly in the best of humors at the moment, or else simply not falling for Nami's charms just yet. Assuming the pirate had the sense to comply, the hunter would gesture with Shock. "And now turn around, so I can see you properly."
Well. Apparently the flirting wasn't the only thing she had right. While Nami's hairstyle was slightly lacking, and was of course not quite the right shade of red-and while the outfit itself looked more like the sexy Halloween costume version of her own attire, though it wasn't entirely fair to point that out considering Sarah's own outfit was fairly revealing-Nami did have at least one thing in common, appearance-wise, with Sarah. Her assets could easily match, and considering how dense Alfonso was, 'big tits' and 'red hair' would have probably been more than enough to fool him had the hunter not approached him first.
"Pity. If I hadn't gotten here already, you probably would have been successful. What's next-boarding, while Alfonso is 'distracted?'" Any pirates that did such would be met with rather overwhelming force-since the ship never intended to leave the harbor, her crew were outfitted with heavier arms and armor than the Blacksails would be, or than the Syren's own crew typically was. "That's not going to end well for them."
Re: Raising sail!
Nami slowly turned, arms in the air and trying not to sigh - and found no effort was needed. She blinked wonder at the steely gaze trained on her. Miss Fortune was...well, Nami hadn't been so taken aback or simmeringly jealous since she'd seen Kalifa step out of that bath before their fight. Wow...no wonder the boys never shut up about her. "Overpowering" was the only word that really described what a beauty Miss Fortune was. Nami was similar enough in physique to pass off the costume, but there was no easily replicating the huntress' natural poise and presence. Fortune was about as athletic, maybe moreso - Nami's curves had softened with easy living the last month or so. It was almost enough that Nami forgot she was staring at her up the barrels of Shock and Awe.
Or that Halifar and his men were probably in a hold somewhere by now, if Fortune hadn't already put them at the bottom of the harbor. Nami gave the pirate hunter a cringing smile. "Boarding and unloading was the plan...sorry, I know, we should have had a more exciting one." She gave a shrug of her shoulders. "I-I promise you, though, we weren't going to kill anyone. That's why I agreed to this, you know?" She gave another shrug, this one a full-body sort that flaunted the admittedly rushed outfit. "One look at Miss Fortune and the whole crew would jump overboard, and we'd have ourselves a ship and plunder. Not so much as a bruised knee. Clever, isn't it?"
And this was such a cheap trick, but Nami was desperate: she batted her eyelashes. "You have to admit, I'm more creative than most of the numbskulls you catch." Please don't be the kind to shoot the creative ones...
Re: Raising sail!
While her gaze remained steely as ever, it did roam appreciatively over Nami's form. Sure, she wasn't quite the fighter that Sarah was, that was obvious-but she wasn't entirely a slouch, either, and her curves were soft enough to add to her attractiveness in at least one fashion that the bounty hunter couldn't match. Letting Nami sweat the fact that Sarah was clearly angry for a moment, she soon opened her mouth again. "You're part of the crew, you'll be tied up with the rest." Holstering Awe, she kept Shock drawn on Nami while moving around her towards the desk, and grabbing the woman's own pistol. No reason to leave it remotely within arms reach, was there?
On the other hand, if Nami wasn't exactly a core member of the crew, Sarah might have been able to let her 'escape' without upsetting Alfonso. Not without collecting something in exchange, of course. "What do you do on the ship? If you can 'agree' or not to these raids, are you really part of the crew?" She was giving Nami an out, and she knew it-but having some fun, so long as it didn't cut into the bounty she was collecting, seemed much more enjoyable than just stuffing Nami with the rest.
Re: Raising sail!
Nami sighed. “I’m not a Blacksail. Or a Blackwood, or a Blockhead or whatever they call themselves! My name, it’s Nami. This thing with the Blackwits is…more of an arrangement. I wasn’t planning on sticking around with these dummies after I got my share. But…” She let a pleading look into her eyes, spreading her palms where she had them raised over her head. “Look, I’m not worried about Alfonso, I can handle a sleaze like him, but you know what he’ll do to Halifar and the others. They might be idiots, but they don’t deserve that…”
Okay, maybe the “pity for pirates” card wasn’t going to sway a pirate hunter, especially one she’d managed to totally piss off with this cheap disguise, but Nami had only so many options. If this had been a Mr. Fortune maybe she could get out of this with a few coy looks and a steamy kiss. The thought was a snare in itself. It drew her eyes to Miss Fortune’s lips, red and full. I didn’t get the lipstick right. That would be one way to fix that. Wait, was she actually considering this? Nami felt a blush creeping up her neck. The outfit, that was all, the outfit was just going to her head.
She collected herself with a deep breath. “Just, before you tie me up, is there anything I can do to convince you to spare them? Can we make a deal?” Nami tried for her usual mischievous smile. “One Miss Fortune to another?”
She colored almost immediately after that last line. Nami prayed to the seas that hadn't been the wrong thing to say...
Re: Raising sail!
Shaking her head slightly, she offered Nami something of a look of pity. "We can, but you're not going to like it. My men haven't had shore leave in weeks, with us tracking you lot, and I'm sure they all have fantasies of fucking me. If you're willing to fulfill that, I don't mind letting these friends of yours go. And then-after-if you'll let me tie you up for some one on one fun, I'll make sure you're let loose before Alfonso comes. You'd better not be lying about who the good ones are, though."
And if Miss Fortune caught them again, well, she'd probably not give them nearly as much of an easy time. Perhaps she was going soft, perhaps she held some pity for the rare female pirate-or perhaps she was simply thinking more with her sex than with her head. Either way, the offer was on the table, now-though there was one more thing. "They'll be fucking you in front of the Blacksails, too, so they know not to trust you. Keep that in mind."
Re: Raising sail!
"You w...want me to..."
After a few moments, she seemed to finally grasp what she'd just heard. I - I can't be hearing this! The thought of being thrown to the crew of the Syren was shocking enough, but the suggestion that she'd have to do it dressed like this, and used in front of Halifar and the others...?! Nami's heart beat against her chest with bruising force, the heat in her body reaching a feverish pitch. Her bare belly puffed and flattened in a rapid pace as she fought to reclaim her breath. Her rational mind tried to calm her down. She's bluffing, she's teasing you, she wants to know how serious you are about saving those idiots, she wouldn't really...
But those enchanting steel eyes silenced her thoughts. The way Miss Fortune was studying her scantily-clad body now turned the rosiness in her cheeks to a lush scarlet. Dignity told her to balk, but her conscience was too strong. This wasn't just her life at stake. The pirate bit her lower lip. She'd just - just have to stay calm. Maybe if she played along for just long enough, Miss Fortune would decide on some other way.
"If - if that's what it takes, then..." Nami closed her eyes, swallowing hard. "You can...you can do anything you want with me for...f-for tonight."
Unconsciously, Nami's leather-clad thighs had come together, their swells brushing anxiously. She tried not to think about the heat that had been gathering between them ever since Fortune's eyes had started combing her body.
Re: Raising sail!
Nami would hardly have time to steel herself once she'd given the go ahead. Holstering her other pistol, Miss Fortune approached Nami, patting her on the back before shoving her lightly towards the exit back to the deck. "I hope you're sure about this-you won't have any chance to back down once we're out there."
Assuming, of course, that Nami didn't change her mind, Miss Fortune would soon take her captive out on the deck, whistling to gather the attention of the Syren's crew. Just as she'd anticipated, the crew of the pirate ship-Halifar and all-were tied up and gagged so they couldn't so much as converse with eachother. Grinning widely, she called out to her men. "Good news, boys! They brought an imposter. And I know more than one of you wants to fuck me-yes, I *do* catch you looking, though I appreciate none of you being dumb enough to try and touch-so now's your chance." Pitching Nami forward, she'd barely have a chance to stumble before a quartet of men were immediately approaching, grins on their faces. "Just don't injure her. She's doing this for her freedom, and a couple of friends-but don't worry, we'll still get paid." Hopefully, Nami would put in at least *some* effort, maybe try to play off as seductive. After all, while her target was never her own crew, she *was* known for using her charms to capture pirates when the situation called for it.
Re: Raising sail!
But she had no time to give them the tongue-lashing they sorely needed. Five of the Syren's crew now approached her, all larger than her, armed with pistol and cutlass, varying in build between muscular and stout...and wearing the kind of grin Nami had always feared to see on Arlong's face. A tremble ran through her body. Miss Fortune had poured on the raunch in her speech and it had clearly inflamed the men's passions. Nami could feel their eyes on all the usual places: her lips, her heaving breasts, her trim but soft belly, her tiny navel, the swells of her hips and thighs and ass, the scandalous amounts of creamy skin bare to the eye...and all of it barely concealed by the attire of the woman they lusted after most on all the seas of this world. The men drew closer, sizing her up like the chest of plunder she'd been hoping to see at the end of this.
Fortune really was a fickle mistress, the forlorn Cat Burglar thought.
The tallest man took a heavy step toward her. Nami flinched, wanting to take a step back, but she could feel the heat of Fortune's eyes behind her. God, she's actually enjoying this? Nami had heard rumors of Miss Fortune's charms - no, she thought with a deeper blush, not just rumors anymore - but this was so...so dirty! Just play along, she forced herself to think. Surely the other woman wouldn't let this go too far.
"I...I suppose I should congratulate you on a job well done, men!" Nami said as smoothly as she could, flashing a coquettish smile to the crew. "You've done as I asked and captured the famous Blockheads...excuse me, Blackwoods. You really are the...hardest men I've ever known." She lowered her chin enough that her hat cast her face in shadow, leaving her light brown eyes to sparkle in the ship's lantern-light and allowing her long tresses to cascade over her heavy breasts. "Fortune will surely smile on you tonight."
God, Nami hoped she was winning Miss Fortune over with this performance. Her freedom depended on it.
