[ unlike caroline, matt doesn't need an explicit invitation to enter the homestead. even if he did, the key she gave him long ago would take care of that little requirement.

she's never quite sure what he wants, or what his intentions are, so she tries to plan for all eventualities. comfortable clothes, easy to slip on or off, and a mess of blankets and pillows on the bed for cuddling or something else entirely. the cable company had been gracious enough (or compelled enough, but who's counting) to extend her a plan with all of the channels, so matt can have his choice.

in the meantime, caroline is busy in the kitchen. snacks of all kinds get piled onto a tray. it gives her something to do with her hands while she waits. ]
