You wake up, and you're living a different life. Whatever you had before, whatever you'd accomplished before, is gone. In their place is something familiar, but not the same. Maybe your friends are your enemies, your enemies your friends. Maybe it's the whole world, maybe it's just your household. The only thing you know for sure is that something's changed, and you're the only one who's noticed. But who changed? Them... or you?

1. Domestic bliss. You may not be used to being married to this person or anyone, but now you are. Who are they? Someone you know? Someone you don't know at all? Whatever it is, you seem to have made a life together here.

2. Black is white, white is black. Whatever side you used to work for, you don't anymore. Your friends may have just become your enemies (or maybe they're there with you, working for a cause that you remember as wrong wrong wrong). You might want to step lightly here, though. No one likes an apparent defector.

3. Career changes. Well, your resume's really fucked now. The job you've been doing for the last x years? Never happened. Your awesome space marines team now work at a Wendy's. Or a bookstore. Or maybe you and your retail buddies are now saving the galaxy. Who knows? Whatever, hope you pick up new skills quick!

4. Pet platoon. Oh christ, now you're not even the same species. Your life has been reinterpreted into animal-life. Whatever, human life sucks anyway. Go chase a squirrel!

5. Back in time. Most of the details are same, it's just the setting that's changed. Did you live in 2000? Hope you like the 1800s! Good luck with that whole 'no indoor plumbing thing'.

6. The time of my life. You've seen this movie. One minute you're living pretty as a twelve-year-old, next minute it's eighteen years later and you have to hold down a job. Or maybe you've just been slingshoted to when you were younger. At least you'll totally breeze through algebra this time, right?

7. Wildcard. Make up your own, suggest your own. Go to an A/B/O 'verse. Have an Everyone Is Toddlers party. Do whatever you want. The universe is yours! (Sorta.)

Pidge stared at Keith for a long moment before reaching out and poking him. "Brother, are you even listening to me? When are we going to the amusement park. You know you have to take me today. You promised mom and dad you would." Dressed in a cute skirt and shirt outfit, with leggings on underneath and hi top tennis shoes, Pidge almost looked like a girl again, except with hair cut short it made it hard to tell what gender the other intended to be seen as.

What the fuck.

Keith just stares at Pidge blankly for another long moment. Amusement park? Brother? Mom and dad?! He's not sure what's going on, but he's pretty sure someone had to've gotten hit in the head for reality to make this little sense.

He backs up a little to put some distance between himself and Pidge and ends up pressing his back against the wall of the room that definitely isn't his room at the Castle. "What are you talking about?"

"Hello, brother, are you in there." Pidge waves their hand in front of his face. "You got to bail on family night two weeks ago, to hang out with your friend, so now you and I are going to the amusement park." Each part was said as if Keith could barely understand the language, and full of the same sarcastic tone that the smallest Paladin was fond of.

"Stop that," he says sharply before grabbing Pidge by the shoulders and moving them back a bit to arm's length distance. He has no idea what the hell is going on right now, but he can't concentrate with Pidge in his face like that. He needs space. "Why are you calling me that?"

Pidge blinks, but doesn't try to move closer when Keith holds them out, respecting the want. "You mean calling you brother?" There was a concerned look on their face then. "Are you okay? I mean... I know step siblings can be awkward, but I've been calling you brother for a while now. S-should I go back to calling you Keith?"

"Don't you have to have parents to be step-siblings?" is the first thing to pop out of his mouth because seriously? None of this makes sense. None of it, and he'd really appreciate it if the universe would stop being crazy now.

Maybe it's a dream? A weird, hyper-realistic dream.

"I'm... not sure if that's insulting me... or you." Pidge said, staring at Keith. "Your mom, my dad... got married... you remember that? Do I need to call a doctor?"

"What mom?"

If this was a joke, it officially crossed the line - well, when it started. But telling an orphan that the mom he never knew married your dad is a new kind of low.

"That one." Pidge said, pointing to a photo on the wall that had both of them, as well as a man and a woman, and an even older boy, all in it, the woman bearing a striking resemblance to Keith.

"Are you feeling sick?" Pidge asked, still keeping distance but looking seriously worried now.

Well, he wasn't feeling sick until now. Now that he's staring at a picture of someone who looks a lot like he used to imagine his mom looked like.

"Uh - I need a minute." To plan an escape, maybe, because what the fuck what the fuck.

"Alright." Pidge says, but there is a clearly worried expression on their face, and they seem hesitant to actually leave Keith.

"I'm okay. Really."

He could use some work on his ability to be comforting and sincere.

"You... don't really sound like it." Pidge said, making sure to keep giving him room, but... yeah, no, he looked really pale, paler than normal at least.

[Museum? Why would he work in some museum? And why did everybody suddenly insist that it was the year 2000 now, when he knew it was 1600? Everybody's gone mad. That was the only sensible explanation, in Mitsunari Ishida's eyes. And who was that? Again, some total stranger was claiming to know him. Why? Why?]

No. However, since I woke up this morning, everything is wrong. Unless I'm the one who's wrong. What I thought was real - what if I had dreamt it all up, like everyone here says? I don't want that!

[almost snarls] That's no concern of yours, stranger. And if you, as several others in this mad place try to imply that my Lord doesn't even exist, my patience will finally run thin.
