The way a bomb loves a crowd

Love at Wrong Sight

Don't be so cynical: love at first sight definitely exists. What also exists is love at wrong sight. Both of you feel a spark, hearts a-flutter, magnetism in full force, all the tell-tale signs of an instant pull, so what's the problem?

Well, there are some big problems. One of you could be taken, you could be on opposites sides of a battle or movement, you have a duty that conflicts with romance, this could be the wrong place at the absolute wrong time, the attraction could be forbidden, or any litany of pitfalls you can imagine could exist. Oh why oh why are you having this sudden swooning now? Here? It's no use denying you're in a pickle.

The quandary is...will you avoid this flight of fancy or will affairs of the heart hit you square in the chest?

"And we do," Malcolm replied, "that's why we work so well together. We accept each other quirks, nightmares and all."

"Thank God," Mercy said prayerfully. "I don't know what I would do without the two of you. You're everything to me. And that's why I'm so determined that the three of us make this work."

"And we will," Malcolm promises, "slow and steady wins the battle after all."

"So... maybe we should let Jack know what we decided?" Mercy said. "He's probably on pins and needles waiting to see what you'd say."

Malcolm nodded. "I think we should though he doesn't seem like the type to worry about much."

Mercy leaned in to kiss him and take his hand. "Shall we go find him?"

He kisses back and twines one of his hands with hers before pulling away slightly. "Lets go find our lover," he mutters.

Something just went straight to Mercy's heart - and knees - at that last comment and she squeezed his hand as she stood, tugging him toward the door.

"Jack," she called quietly. "We want to see you."

Jack snapped his cell phone shut and turned around as he heard this lovers voices. His body is slightly tense but he's wearing an open smile as he watches them. "What about," he asked gently.

"Oh, you know," Mercy said lightly, but the joy in her voice was undoubtedly apparent. "Threesomes and things."
