The way a bomb loves a crowd
![]() ![]() Don't be so cynical: love at first sight definitely exists. What also exists is love at wrong sight. Both of you feel a spark, hearts a-flutter, magnetism in full force, all the tell-tale signs of an instant pull, so what's the problem? Well, there are some big problems. One of you could be taken, you could be on opposites sides of a battle or movement, you have a duty that conflicts with romance, this could be the wrong place at the absolute wrong time, the attraction could be forbidden, or any litany of pitfalls you can imagine could exist. Oh why oh why are you having this sudden swooning now? Here? It's no use denying you're in a pickle. The quandary is...will you avoid this flight of fancy or will affairs of the heart hit you square in the chest? HOW to PLAY

Jack had been about to encourage her to share her heart with Oliver when her actual words sunk in. "What," he says his accent slipping slightly into his natural one. He is rarely surprised. "What do you mean? If it isn't Oliver who is it?"

As strong as Felicity was, love was something that had the capacity to make her delicate and fragile. And if Jack didn't know already — if he was so surprised — then not only was she a fool, she was an unrequited, loving one.
"Jack. If you don't know the answer to that question. Then we- We don't need to have this conversation." She looked away, not even wanting to see how he'd react. "I'm not okay right now, but. I'll get over it. Eventually."

Jack can't think for a second, the words to respond won't come. "Felicity....I....," he takes a breath, "I told you I'm not the person you should be loving. And it's not just what I've done...it's what I am. You never asked me how I survived Oliver's first attack......Felicity I'm immortal. I can't die. Even if we could be together.......you will age and die and I won't....ever."
This was not how he'd expected to reveal this to her, but it was his last ditch effort to guard himself and keep history on track. His wants didn't matter, they couldn't.

"What?"
Now she was processing the fact that someone could live forever. But despite it all, her first reaction was the most clarifying feeling in the world.
"I don't care."
Don't her wrong. She's still shocked, you can see it on her face. But when it came to Jack and whether she loved him — him being immortal made no difference.
"Ja-" She nearly bites her tongue to prevent saying his name out loud. Oliver and John were still on the plane after all. So she starts over. "I'd still feel this way, even if you told me that you were going to die tomorrow. How I feel about you has nothing to do with how long you live for."

Jack stares at her for a long moment taking it all in. He realized finally that this woman was everything his mother always told him about and more. If he didn't make a move now he was going to end up hurting her worse. Whatever was in store they could face it together. He takes a breath then reaches for her hand. "Felicity," he whispers, "after I lost my last...lover I swore I was done. People tried to help me move on, but....when I don't want to do something I don't."
He chuckled softly. "Fate however had other plans...because your feelings aren't as one sided as you think," he adds, "I've been in love with you for years."

Her hand moves to meet his, for lack of better judgement. All it would take is for Oliver to walk over and they'd have to really explain themselves out of this one.

"Since our first conversation as a matter of fact," he admitted, "My heart was broken and you standing there and asking me why was the balm it needed. I wasn't living when I met you Felicity...I was surviving. I may seem charming and at ease, but when you've lived as long as I have even the person you are becomes a mask. You saw behind that...you saw me."

"You were always so mysterious. Like you knew everything about the world and we could never hope catch up." Honestly, that was probably true. "But every time you took off your mask ... I could tell it was like you were a completely different person."
She gives his hand a parting squeeze before letting go to keep up appearances. "You know. This is going to make hating you for the rest of this trip a whole lot harder."

He gives the small half smile he's perfected over the last few years so that anyone looking at them might think he's just plotting something. "I plan on being a complete bastard so it might be easier then you think. Oliver and I have a plan that hopefully will gain us an in with Ra's while keeping us safe. You have a part to play too in my half of the plan."

She knows he's told her that he's immortal, but since Felicity doesn't have any life experience in that area, she's still going to worry about him dying.
A few second later, Diggle was announcing to everyone on board that they're almost there. They could see the shape and lights from Nanda Parbat in the distance.

"Trust me," Jack said, "I know how all this turns out. Just follow my lead and you'll be fine sunshine." He thinks for a moment. "Sunshine that fits you...I think that's what I'm going to call you in private."

He smiles again and glances back making sure Oliver and John are checking weapons and the like before he is gently picking up Felicity's hand and pressing a kiss to the palm. "Consider that a promise for when this job is over and done," he says getting up to check his own gear. He knows the basics of how this will go and he knows how painful it will be for everyone. He just wasn't expecting Ra's separate all of them once Thea is out of the pit. He knows what Ra's plans to do to Oliver once they leave and it troubles him.
He also knows Ra's thinks he has Felicity and Oliver's relationship pegged. While the idea of them sleeping together doesn't bother Jack, after all he grew up in a future where love and marriage aren't so easily defined and dancing happened with all willing souls. He still wished he was the one with Felicity right now and not Oliver Queen it just wasn't fair.

And then Felicity is in Oliver's room, and she cannot let him do this and the only thing she can use is the one tool in her arsenal: that she knows he loves her too. So she puts his mouth on his and Oliver takes the bait. An hour later, she's drugged his drink and Oliver doesn't notice until it's too late.
And now? Now she needed a lot of help from the rest of them. Especially Jack.

"You want me to what?"
