She can be strong for everyone else, and for him when the situation calls for, but otherwise - he likes being able to be there for her. It's something he can do right and it feels good. Her cuddling in has his smile relaxing and going softer and he hums a sound as he moves his head again, tucking his chin over the top of her head so he can keep that one eye on the door again even as he wraps his arm a bit more securely around her.
