Age Gap

the AGE GAP meme
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Post with your characters, including what role you'd like your character to play (older/younger) and your preferences (no one under ____, no number 2, roleplay only, etc).
2. Tag around, either choosing options at random or using some kind of RNG.
3. Don't be naughty~. Or do.
OPTIONS
1. All of this is roleplay. You're acting a part.
2. This is real. You're actually living this.
(possible) SCENARIOS
1. PARENT & CHILD: So, have you been bad? You know what happens to bad kids...
2. OLDER SIBLING & YOUNGER SIBLING: If the parents aren't in the picture, someone has to take care of business.
3. OTHER FAMILIAL RELATIONSHIP: Keepin' it in the family.
4. TEACHER & STUDENT: Don't stand, don't stand so, don't stand so close to me...at least not during schools hours.
5. DOCTOR & PATIENT: An apple a day keeps the doctor away, unless you want to play.
6. CUSTOMER & STRIPPER/DANCER/HOOKER: Older people have the money, younger people need the money. Surely something can be worked out.
7. JAILBAIT: One of you better watch out, because this is trouble with a capital T.
8. THE BABYSITTER: ...you've seen the porn. I don't have to describe this.
9. CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURES: If you don't see something you want, make it up.

No problem haha
Taking a deep breath, enjoying the clean scent of rain in the preserve — it always smells like worms and vaguely of trash in town, but in the preserve, it manages to smell like nature. — Derek moves closer and settles beside her. ]
Trouble in paradise?
[ The rain doesn't bother him, either. On the contrary, it feels nice, cool against his sweaty skin.
no subject
Nothing felt as simple as it once was and trying to pretend like everything was just fine was exhausting.]
It's not quite right anymore.
[She tilted her head to look at him, it was nice to be able to admit that out loud.]
Do you know what I mean?
no subject
But when she speaks Derek gives a little nod and smiles, except that it falls short of his eyes. Yeah. He knows. ]
Probably more than I wish I did, yeah. You want to talk about it or should I drop it? I know nobody would know it because no one bothers to try talking to me, but I'm actually a really good listener, Kira.
no subject
It's not that I don't think you'd be a good listener but I think I'm exhausted of the thinking about the whole thing.
[She sighed, shaking her head.] Life's suddenly so complicated.
no subject
With the kitsune stuff or just in general?
[ The rain has completely saturated his hair, flattening it to the top of his head. Derek runs a hand through it, both to try to give it some shape again and to get his bangs out of his face, because they're dripping water into his eyes. ]
no subject
[Her eyes followed the movement of Derek's hand, finding herself laughing at him trying to reshape it. It didn't seem to be going all that well for him.]
You know, if you smiled once in a while people might take a chance to see if you're a good listener.
no subject
[ That's where thinks can get tricky, because when it's both, then that typically means that they're bleeding into one another and muddying the waters on either side, in Derek's experience. ]
And ruin my reputation of being a sour wolf? No way.
[ Although, he does give her a little smirk at that to let her know he's mostly joking.
The thing is...Derek doesn't really get the impression that most of the people in McCall's pack actually care about him at all; whether he's around or not, what he's thinking or feeling. He isn't ever inclined to show them the other side of himself because he doesn't think they'll bother to notice it anyway. But sometimes, on rare occasion like this, when he's one on one with one of them, he lets his real self slip through. Derek isn't always miserable, contrary to popular belief, and he does genuinely care for the people around him, whether the realize it or not. Kira isn't exempt from that. ]
You wanna stick around for a while or get out of the rain to continue the conversation. If you want to continue it at all, I guess.
no subject
Your reputation is that important to you?
[She didn't quite believe him especially with that smirk that followed. There was a lot more to Derek than ever met the eye but not particularly much opportunity to figure him out. But that didn't mean that she didn't want to or wasn't curious.]
We can go to my car, warm up and dry off?
no subject
No, not even a little.
[ At her suggestion, Derek pushed himself up to his feet and held a hand out to help Kira up as well. ]
Works for me. The rain feels good and all, but I think I'm starting to look as much like a drown rat as I feel right about now.
[ He'd never put a whole lot of thought into Kira, actually. Not that he wasn't curious or that he didn't care, but she was one of the newer pieces of the McCall pack puzzle and Derek had long since been edged out to the periphery of that. There was enough friction on a good day between he and Scott as it was, he didn't need to add to it by nosing in to learn more about the Alpha's girlfriend just because he was curious. Now, though, well... The opportunity had presented itself, so he was just kind of rolling with it. ]
no subject
[Kira said it without thinking but it was true. There really wasn't a point in time where he didn't look good, at least as far as her experience had gone thus far and a soaking wet Derek was no exception.
She really shouldn't be having thoughts like that.
Shaking it off, she got up and led the way to where she'd parked her car. Now that she let herself think about it she was feeling a bit cold and was eager to get a bit dry and let some heat blast on her for a few minutes at the least.]
There it is. [She announced though it wasn't likely necessary as the car came into view, flashing Derek another grin as she moved to unlock it. His presence had calmed some of the clamoring thoughts and anxiety she felt, though she couldn't pinpoint why.]
no subject
I guess I just feel it, then.
[ He gives her a small smile.
...and shrugged off the flattery that tugged at him a little, because she almost definitely didn't mean it like that. And, he shouldn't want her to have, anyway. It was just a reflexively, throwaway comment, that was all.
Derek followed Kira back out to the parking lot and smiled back at her grin. ]
You sure you want me getting in there all wet?
[ It feels like he should just double check. It isn't a luxury car or anything, but it looks kinda nice and he doesn't want to ruin the upholstery if it isn't sporting leather seats. ]
no subject
When they got to the car, she unlocked it, opening the driver's door and tilting her head at the question.]
Do you think I'd leave a drowned rat out after I offered to take it in?
[She teased, climbing into the car and making quick work of getting it turned on so the heater could get going soon.]
no subject
That would actually be pretty rude of you.
[ He was smirking, though, when he said it and once she had started to get into the car, Derek followed suit, slipping into the passenger seat. ]
It's a shame that it isn't as warm all over California as the tourists to the southern part of the state would like to think it is...
[ The sentiment was followed with a cold chill that sent a quick shudder through his body before he settled back against the seat and looked over at her. ]
no subject
There's probably some that would laugh at us for thinking this was cold.
[Her eyes drifted over toward Derek, feeling an odd sort of tension now that they were in a closed space.]
no subject
[ Although, most of those people would probably be the types, Derek thought, who were used to a colder climate, anyway, so he supposed that the opinion was entirely subjective.
He looked over at Kira and couldn't help noticing that she was looking at him, too, and suddenly this all felt a little...awkward. Largely, he thought, because he had no right noticing that, while he'd never paid any attention before, Kira was actually quite beautiful. It didn't help that she was soaked to the bone and her clothes were clinging to her like that. Not an okay thought process, Derek. Not okay.
Clearing his throat, he ran a hand through his hair again. ]
So, did sitting in the rain give you any clarity on your situation at all, or...?
no subject
She wasn't staring at least, just the occasional, one could hope, subtle glances. Yeah, it probably wasn't good to look.]
Not at all. [She said, her forehead creasing and she shook her head.] Things aren't really the same anymore but it's kind of easier to pretend some of it is.
no subject
If things aren't the same, then why hold onto what was? Why not just move forward to what could be? There's always the possibility that it'll be better than it was before.
[ The regret came from the fact that he was worried about the potential for reading an implication into that when that hadn't been his intention. Worse, now that he'd said it, he was thinking about it. Scott would never really understand her. He was bitten, not born, and he only ever seemed to embrace the wolf when his life depended on it. Derek, on the other hand, understood all too well the implications of being born supernatural and being a late bloomer. Derek might've had his werewolf abilities his whole life, but he sure as shit hadn't managed to harness and control them until he was...well. Nearly Kira's age. She would probably be happier with someone who understood the struggle and could support her in the process than she would ever be able to be with someone who was only ever going to hold her back, intentionally or not.
Like who? You? She's too young. Or you're too old. Either way, get it out of your head. Now, he told himself, his head turning to look out the window and watch the raindrops sliding down the glass, just so that he could bff looking somewhere other than at Kira for the moment. ]
no subject
She was thinking things that she shouldn't. She was thinking about him and the attraction that she was more and more aware of and after confessing her unhappiness and receiving that sort of solid advice it only made it seem more prevalent.]
I don't know what else could be, Derek. [A smile was still on her lips but it felt bittersweet.] Who's to say I wouldn't just have all the same problems no matter what I do and feel no less... [Her shoulders shrugged, more defeated than careless.]
no subject
He's never going to understand you. He just isn't.
[ The words came out before he realized he was even back to thinking them and he had to barrel on to explain so that it didn't sound so random and out of the blue. ]
Scott hasn't ever and probably will never truly accept the wolf inside. He uses it as a crutch when it benefits him and he's content to ignore it when it doesn't. That's not someone who will ever understand you. You were born the way you were born, you are what you are, and instead of trying to pretend the kitsune isn't there, you're embracing it and learning about it. Because it's a part of you and you know that. For him, the wolf is a perk when he needs a boost of strength or wants to eavesdrop without being caught, but he's never going to accept it as a part of himself, not like you are with the kitsune.
[ Yeah...that still...didn't sound much better or any less random. Derek sighed. ]
I just think hanging on when you know that, deep down, is what's making you feel so shitty. You should be alone while you work through it or at least with someone who understands how you feel and Scott never will. That's not a bad thing, he's not a bad person or whatever, he's just...not for you right now. There's nothing wrong with that.
[ When he felt his eyes start to shift down toward her mouth, Derek averted them quickly before they could get there. ]
Maybe that's why you're so miserable. You care about him, but you know he's no good for you when you're at this point in your life. ...that doesn't make you a bad person, either. Things change, Kira.
[ And he finally looked back up at her with a sincere expression before shrugging. ]
People change.
