They'd kissed, and that had felt like crossing a line. Sneaking into his bedroom in the middle of the night feels like barreling forward over several. But there's still too much fizzing around in her veins, a kind of panic she doesn't actually have a name for, a need to be closer that she does. She doesn't want to turn around and leave now. She doesn't want to be alone. ]
Sure.
[ Clary ducks in, hoping her face isn't burning pink like she thinks it is. It's an inappropriate reaction to having Jace invite her in. But it's too late now. [ Likely before Jace ever arrived. Though now that he looks over his room quickly and critically, he thinks he might have at least drawn up the blankets on his bed and cleared some of the demonology texts off his dresser. The room might look a little more inviting then. ]
Do you...want to sit?
[ It's followed with a vague gesture. Anywhere she picks is clearly the intention, though Jace has clearly become aware of the fact that they're alone in his room with his bed.
In true Jace Wayland fashion, he's opting to barrel on ahead without attempting to course correct. ]

[ Maybe she should donate one of her copies to him. It might make him relax a little.
She hovers a little and then firmly sits herself on the edge of his bed, crossing her legs in front of her. It's hard to ignore the very different nerves that now flicker underneath her skin. ]
I see Max isn't the only one I have to rescue from seriously boring books.
