Different packs have different histories, different rules, but they also have bonds, treaties, whatever you want to call it, and when the Hales headed West, they never lost touch with certain bloodlines back East. And one of those was the Lockwood line.
Not that they physically crossed paths or mixed all that often, but there were aberrations of course, and Mason had been one of those. Ending up in California was inevitable for him after he'd exhausted himself in Florida and while he preferred the coast, Beacon Hills drew him in too.
So he's settled on the couch in Derek's loft, legs stretched out, gaze locked on the other werewolf. "I thought things were supposed to be less insane here."

[post canon, loner/omega type.]
[ It's been a long time since she's been alone. Too long. It hurts and Natasha, for a few moments after she leaves Tony and Rhodey, doesn't know how to breathe. Doesn't know how she keeps making her legs move. But she recovers. She keeps going, keeps running. Because it's what she knows, underneath everything else. To survive, endure.
She wanted to check on Laura and the kids but she knew any contact with them could only endanger them with Ross and whatever men he sends after her. She wants to go after Steve and the others but, again. She would most likely be bringing trouble with her. She'll let them get ahead. Maybe some day she'll find them again. Maybe. Hopefully. For now, she's on her own. No pack. Just her own skin to fend for.
She hops to a few countries before coming back to the States, hair short and dark now. Went so far as to have brown contacts. It's risky, coming back to New York. But it's a huge city she can bury herself in. And maybe, she's feeling sentimental (which is terrible for someone like her; a weakness she was always warned against). Hell's Kitchen is roughly where they all came together as a team for the first time.
But it's a scent that leads her feet to a specific diner. One she recognizes but doesn't know. Another wolf. A lone one, it seems. She enters the diner but doesn't head towards the scent. She takes a seat in one of the empty booths near the back. This is a stupid idea. One that could easily just lead to more trouble. She's alone and she should stay that way.
Yet... she wants to see if the other wolf will seek her out. If they will come to her willingly. ]
