It's summertime! Out with the snow and the dark, here come the sun and sea, watermelons and slushies, long lazy days, and all the things that make summer wonderful.

Along with a few other things.

Honestly, your character loves summer. How can they not? They don't mean to spoil the fun. They could've been having a grand old time right now, if it weren't for...

1. The heat! No kidding, hot in summer? Who would've thought. The AC broke and the fan just can't keep up. What to do? Why, complain, of course.

2. The bugs! EEK! It's cockroach season! Or possibly the invasion of the bloodsucking horde. Pick up a shoe and join the defending army.

3. Allergies! You know what's nice about the bare trees in winter? They're bare. Is it September yet?

4. Those meddling kids! Some of us don't get summer vacation no more, you little bastards. Stop partying at all hours!

5. The crowds! The beach was a lot nicer when you didn't have to share it with approximately twenty two billion other people. Some of them in wildly unflattering swimsuits.

6. That one unbearably cheerful friend who thinks summer is really just the best thing and they will prove it to you if they must shove a gallon of ice cream down your screaming mouth.

7. Or something else equally annoying and horrid, because fuck summer.


You know the drill. Comment with your character hating the season for a chosen (or randomly rolled) reason, others comment to alleviate (or enjoy) your misery, or possibly just complain along. Don't be dicks. Have fun. The OP is going to collapse in her fridge or something.

[ the cold Red can handle, almost scarily well - the heat, not so much. Especially with how humid it is outside, it feels practically like walking through a sauna. He may or may not be regretting coming down from Mt. Silver at this moment, but it's hard to tell, since all he seems to be able to bring himself to do is lie on the floor and stare up at the ceiling fan as if attempting to mentally will it to cool the air faster somehow. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be working too well. ]

[ Sollux doesn't necessarily mind summer. The heat is kind of annoying, sure, but he's used to an environment that's humid and buzzing with heat from electronic equipment, buzzing with insects. It's the people that drive him crazy.

Here he was, thinking a nice quiet day at the beach wouldn't be so terrible. But when they can't even find a place in the sand to sit, not without stepping over tourists -- ]

[ Asgard, because I said so, is a balmy 75 all year round with the occasional snowstorms when everyone suddenly can't remember how to drive throws snowballs at each other and pretends to be frost giants. It's a grand old time, really, mostly because it's Asgard.

New York City, as Sif was coming to find out, was not at all like Asgard. Noisy, dirty, and most importantly, humid. Which, when mixed with her unstable hormones current mood, simply made her even more miserable. Somewhere along the line, through the combined efforts of Loki and herself, they'd managed to break the 'air conditioning' in his apartment - and the extremely sorry landlady who wouldn't be able to come and fix it until the gods knew when. She was vacationing in Maine.

If Loki was going to complain about her sprawling over his snazzy and respectably priced Ikea couch she would simply tell him that he's more than welcome to get pregnant - but until then to shut up and let her wallow in peace. ]
