The wolf and the lamb, hand in hand.

| Because is there anything better than a dangerous, potentially deadly stoic whose one weakness is their sweet, harmless object of affection? Especially if the latter has the former wrapped around their finger, knowingly or otherwise. To avoid tl;dr - suddenly, a wild bae approaches! Their attempt to turn you into a puddle of goo at the knees, whether purposeful or not, is very effective.

Belle | Once Upon A Time
Sup.
Ironic that Belle was being taken to be the hostage of one beast, but ends up in the custody of another.
The action is swift, when it occurs. Soldiers seem to melt out of the forest shadows, laying upon the carriage as it makes its way alone through the forest paths and swiftly dispatching of those sent with her as guards. She's to be taken to a neutral territory and held until negotiations reach a favorable conclusion.
Understandably, the king is taking his time, trapped between a bargain with a hostile kingdom and forces far more dire. But none know where the princess is being kept. And Locus will ensure it remains that way.
She's given a brief of her captor once during the attack, in stark black armor with a helm that seems more reminiscent of a skull than anything else, and then the curtains are drawn. The horses are urged onward. For the length of a day and a night they travel, until they reach the holdout she's meant to be kept in.
Then, the door to the carriage opens. The dark knight stares into the confines of the carriage at the young woman before jerking his head briefly. No time for niceties. ]
Get out.

She doesn't know if it's possible because her captor kept her from arriving at the dark palace as scheduled. There will be consequences for that, and Belle can't help but wonder who will end up paying them. It's hard to believe there's something worth the risk of all of this, and while the attack frightens her, there's enough time spent in that carriage for her to collect herself.
All day and all night, with enough time to think through the situation until her emotions change. She practically stomps out of the carriage, glaring up at the knight as if there's no mask to conceal him. There's no reason for her to fear a man in armor, she's grown up around those.
And for this one to taken her alive, he must need her that way.]
If you're going to kidnap me, you could at least be polite about it.

Move.
[ She's remarkably fearless, for a woman in her position. Alone, in the company of men who obviously don't mean her well, she might have done well to hold her tongue. Clearly she believes herself untouchable, too valuable a pawn to come to harm in their keeping.
She's not wrong, not entirely. But he has no time for a princess's tantrums. When he walks, she had best keep up.
The rest of the men stand watch around the carriage, eyes on the two of them. It isn't often that anyone dares speak back to him like that, and likely more than a few of them will snigger once he's out of earshot. It hardly matters. He has a job to see to, and she will cooperate. ]

It's not fearlessness that guides her, at first she was certainly afraid. She fears for the safety of her kingdom, and the consequences they might face. There's no way to know the danger her father will be in now, and the worst of it is unthinkable. She's only human, she does feel fear, but not for her life. It's hard to worry about herself when she's seen so much bravery in the people around her. If she's her mother's daughter, she has to try to be brave on her own.
He can slow down or let her fall behind, Belle won't be bothered with either outcome.]

He can almost respect her determination, were it not so irritating.
But tending to the needs of captive princesses is not why he joined this war effort. This is not something he's well-equipped to handle, and it's with a quiet sense of relief that he finally finds the door to her cell and yanks it open. It's not miserable inside, not filthy or decrepit, just empty. There's a little sack bed and room to pace and not a lot else.
He looks towards her, that mask stone-faced ]
If your father is wise, this will not take long.

[ She doesn't enter. This time, Belle stops. It could be worse, they could certainly make it worse, yet the idea of being kept in this cage unsettles her. She doesn't deserve this treatment, she's done nothing but try to save her kingdom. He's the one who pulled her off course and brought her here.]
If you're so fond of this prison, why don't you sleep in it? Your men already outnumber me, there's no reason to lock me in there.
[They know there's no escape. He's being cruel.]

( tora's referring to the car beauty's toying with, of course--a gorgeous, expensive porsche. the corner of his lip twitches in the smallest annoyance before he curls his mouth over his cigarette; this isn't the first time he's caught her behind a raised hood with the smell of oil in the air. )
Boss'd cut my damn pinky off if anything got damaged.

[ beauty's never met a car -- or truck or motorcyle -- that she didn't like, but some cars are just leagues beyond. not even necessarily to drive, but just to get inside and let their engines idle. slide down into a seat with a good book. take them apart and put them back together even better than they were before.
she's not doing any of those things to this one, however. all she's doing is looking and listening. ]
Does she sound right to you?

( so tora does come around, hands in his pockets and legs taking long strides. a confession: he's not nearly as good at tinkering with cars as he is with tinkering with people's bone structures. it'd just never occurred to him that maybe he'd have to learn maintenance, but now he stands by beauty's side and peers at the inner workings of this very expensive car. )
... this is bad? ( there's no reason for him to bullshit what he absolutely can't compute. tora frowns, head cocking to the side. ) I don't get it.

I don't think it's bad just now, but it could become bad if something isn't done about it.
[ she gives tora a sideways look and moves around the car to reach inside the window and cut the engine. ]
Maybe you can pass that along to someone.
