A PRIDE MEME

Happy Pride! A day for celebration, a day for protest, a day for LGBTQ+ communities to pull out all the stops and fill the streets with glitter, rainbow flags and cheer. Whether you're part of the community or an ally, you're welcome to celebrate the undefeatable forces of love. If you're not an ally? Well, you can try to avoid it as best you can or try and stage your own protest at your own risk. Through rain or shine, the celebration will endure.

HOW TO PLAY

• Comment with your character and preferences.
• RNG if you feel up to it or go at random.
• Reply, reply, reply! Meet new people or keep it regular, but celebrate!

SCENARIOS

1. MARCHING IN THE PARADE: Whether you're in it for fun, in it for a political group, or representing your workplace, you're in the parade! Hand out flyers, wave your flags, cover yourself in paint, glitter, and make sure you can walk a long way in your shoes.

2. WATCHING THE PARADE: Walking in the thing is hard work, but finding a good place to watch it from isn't easy either! Maybe you're stuck in the back or standing on a garbage bin, maybe you're pushed through or squatted your spot near the fence. Either way it's crowded, but the parade is exciting and a good time for all!

3. STAY AT HOME: Maybe you hate crowds, or you're sick. Maybe you had to work, or had some other engagement. For whatever reason, you're missing the festivities. You can keep up on the internet though, or text your friends who are there! Maybe if you're really lucky, it's going past your window.

4. RAINED OUT: It's not always going to be a perfect day for a parade. You're rained out! The parade keeps going through it, but the crowds are less, the bars are packed, and makeup and paint are running down faces all over. Make the best of it.

5. PARTYING: This is what it's all about, once the parade is over. The bars and clubs are packed and going all night. Have a hell of it a time dancing and drinking with drunk, friendly strangers! The streets are just as packed as the bars, the whole city is a party for one night only.

6. HOOKING UP: With all this physical contact and adrenaline, it's not a surprise that you've ended up getting intimate! Maybe you're making out with your partner, or your best friend. Maybe you're going home with a stranger. What happens at Pride stays at Pride, right?

7. IS THAT THE SUN?: Party's over, friends. You're tired and drunk, or maybe still full of adrenaline, but the clubs are closing and it's time to navigate through a street littered with flyers, rainbows, and endless beer cans to get home to your bed. That is, unless you're already in somebody else's.

London Pride was always a nice homecoming for Charles. One day a year he could be himself with the general public and rejoice with others like himself. But not this year. This year he would rather stay at the Kingsman manor, working, pretending it was just another day. Pride was only so enjoyable because of the company he had with him while there, and with the passing of his husband there wasn't very much Charles actually felt joyful about anymore.

[ The problem with a parade on busy streets is that at some point, people need to cross. So occasionally the parade stops. It's not much of a problem, as Sulu takes the opportunity to chat up parade watchers and hand out flyers. Starfleet For An Equal Universe, Infinite Space Infinite Love, Join Today. Hikaru remembers getting one of those flyers from an Academy student when he was a kid and thinking Well duh, of course we're all equal, but he's grown since then. He knows that not every planet thinks they way they do here on Earth, so he joined the Pride parade crew as soon as sign-ups were announced.

Not sure how long they're going to be paused, Sulu makes his rounds to the crowd, handing out flyers, stickers, buttons, getting stuck chatting with a friend while in the corner of his eyes he sees a kid. Or he thinks a kid, you never know with some alien species'. He doesn't approach right away because of that concern, but once he's decided yeah, probably a child, he goes right over with a smile. ]

[ What happens at Pride stays at Pride, right? Well, maybe not when your at at the same party as your boyfriend's sister.

Admittedly, Renly hadn't been thinking straight. He'd had too much to drink, and the last time he saw Loras before losing him in the crowd, their hands had lingered as he slipped away to 'take a piss, don't wait up'. He'd been joking, a cheeky quip with a wink, because Loras is unfaltering loyal. He's been gone for quite a while though (or at least Renly feels like he has), and Renly isn't so good. Not when he's uninhibited, not when he doesn't have Loras' hand in his and a visual reminder of just how much he loves his boyfriend. He's weak, easily distracted, and that's why after he's been dancing with someone else for who knows how long, after their lips connect and their bodies grind together hands up his shirt and his own clutching this stranger's bum, his eyes catch Margaery nearby. When he sees her he pulls away like he's been burnt, and follows after her hurriedly. ]
