Shouldn't you be focused on catching all of those Stitches?
[Again, that is definitely not the word he would currently use for it.]

[Is she only teasing? Is he actually considering lending her a hand? No. That would be terrible. He has so many other soldier things to do. If she outright asked him and he said yes, no one else would let him live it down. They can do without drawing additional attention to themselves, he thinks.]
Is that a threat?
Is that a threat?
of all the jobs you could've picked...why there?!
u could get killed...from being bored! ;D

Would it work?
[ You can bet your fine butt she's raising a brow at you, genuinely curious above that little smirk. She will never stop worrying about him and she'll always take care of him, so really, he has nothing to worry about. She wouldn't have it in her heart to be cruel. ]

I know, it's the Greek God Pan... I just said that
yeah it did! well, sorta. i mean my instincts in a fight have always been good, so that helps a lot, but most of the moves you'd use in a real brawl are totally illegal in boxing
so that took some gettin used to
so that took some gettin used to
Sorry! Sorry Cloud! Yes! We'll do our--I'll do my best! Yuffie's..um...a little tired up at the moment. But she's going to do her best to not do anything else today!
[ She still knows. Her laugh is a throaty, soft thing, trying to fight the tiredness washing over her the longer she's in his presence, wrapped up in his coat and warm. Like the tide rushing in, each wave higher than the last. She has to make it to the sunrise. ]
Well, we can't have that. I suppose it's good then that I would never be able to bring myself to be so cruel to you.
[ Her eyes close for a moment and her lids are getting heavier each time, making it harder and harder to open them again. The sky's starting to lighten at the horizon. ]

[This whole encounter has absolutely made her day already, and all they've done is exchanged greetings.
The overcast evening makes sure that it isn't forgotten by the closing of the front door, as the sound of distant thunder precedes the chuckle of her response.]
Naturally. I'm always planning to see you again, you know.
[Which is part friendly teasing, and part good-natured chiding that no matter how many enemies he runs across, someone will always be expecting him, so he has to come out of it alive.
Whether she ever outright says it or not, she's much more tense when he isn't directly in her field of vision. Texting helps, but only so much, as she knows that he would somehow manage to carry on a cavalier conversation even if he was gravely wounded. Being able to physically see that he's alright eases her tremendously. The resulting ease of tension is one of the many reasons that she's always at her happiest when he's around.
The journey from the door to the kitchen is a short one, and arriving at the dining table will find two places set: the head of the table at the far end, and the seat beside it. Set out is a large aluminum pan full of sausage lasagna from a nearby Italian restaurant. She's housed the pan in a ceramic casserole dish, both to keep it warm and for presentation. Beside it is a large plate of sliced pretzel bread -- the last of which is still cooling on a baking sheet, as she'd taken it out just as the doorbell rang -- covered in perfectly melted raclette cheese. There's enough of it to serve as 'bar snacks' for later, or appetizers for now.]
Make yourself at home!
[She says as she moves to get two wine glasses from the cabinet.]
I'm sorry I didn't have time to actually cook.
[Something she clearly wishes she had been able to do, though it's classic Angela that she tried to at least prepare the bread and cheese herself, even under such time constraints. She literally just got home about thirty minutes prior to his arrival.]
On the plus side, ordering from a restaurant means that there is also an apology chocolate cake in the refrigerator, if you have room for dessert.

You're here! What could possibly make the occasion any more special?
[ The bottle's down again for half a second before Hawke is snatching it back up, leaning over the counter island with a grin as he twists the cap off, taking a drink before even Fenris can find the glasses.

...Even if you are dead set on criticizing my impeccable taste. At least the drunks were less discerning.

1. We need to get me chipped asap
2. Im sorry you'll never get the feeling of closeness when you go to pee outside and you realize you're peeing right where someone else just peed
3. Still alive. Just brushed my teeth with fireball.
4. I'm just imagining Oprah like "you're popping a boner, and you're popping a boner...EVERYONE IS POPPING A BONER"
5. [Or text him.]

They also smelled of piss.
[Fenris downed a mouthful in one go, gritting his teeth against the burn of the cheap alcohol]
Speaking of occations, what had you out half-drunk tonight?

[76 can feel her fading, and sort of debates shaking her awake so that she doesn't miss the sun coming up, but he's starting to feel a little sleepy himself. It's not often he lets himself succumb to exhaustion, but her warm body next to his makes it easier.
In the moments before they fall asleep, he worms his arm around her shoulder, leaning into her comfortably and resting his chin on her head.
Next time, maybe.]

I've got a habit of ruining lives, looks like you're just my most recent victim.
