You've messed up. Whether it be a small squabble over who got the last beer or a big, big betrayal, you have hurt your lover/spouse/significant other/friend with benefits enough to get them angry with you. For the moment, this relationship is on the rocks. But still, you want to make things right.

After your apology and attempts to make amends, or perhaps as part of that attempt, you need something to reaffirm the bond between you two. There's something to be said for make up sex; it can help you both heal you hurts - and, at the very least, it can show that you can be in the same room together.

1. Serious: There's some broken hearts and real pain here. It may take time to heal anything.

[Love, Edith has learned, is always pain. The emotion is tangible, and real, and--God, so easily wounded. It lingers, too, in the way phantoms do, the joy and the hurt of it both sharp and warning. Those phantom pains fill her heart the way the shadows do the corners of the room.

Of course, she's always known that ghosts are real. It's that love--that lingering, awful, addictive force--lingering in the same way that she'd never expected. It's for this reason that when she sees him, her Thomas, she thinks nothing suspecting of it. She sees him now as she always sees him. That phantom pain.

It's in this way too that Thomas is acknowledged and just as easily dismissed with a long, suffering sigh. She should be over this. Done with it.]

Go away, Thomas.

"Come off it, you're really going to be miffed over a little white lie?" Luci darts in front of Persephone, trying to appeal to the goddess' sense of priority. Surely she couldn't be upset over an offer of power made in a time of true desperation?

"Those cuffs were chaffing, I had to say something to get someone as brilliant as you on my side..." The little delicate compliment probably helped her case-- or at least it couldn't hurt it-- and she reached up to gently stroke Persephone's cheek with her knuckles in a fond, admiring gesture.

It was easy to see why Luci fed the pile of lies about damnation and giving her a taste of the divinity she'd wanted. She was desperate, confined and in need of a way out. One little lie for a chance at freedom. Hell, she might have done the same in her place if she'd been stuck inside a cell long enough.

"Brilliant?" One eyebrow arches up. "Are you sure you weren't thinking desperate and just stupid enough to believe you?" She doesn't lean away from the touch but her eyes flicker to skulls for just a moment. Just to make sure Luci doesn't forget she's on even footing now.

"You're going to have to do better than that,"

"Ooh..." Luci rocks back, hissing through pursed lips. She loves when Persephone flashes her eyes like that, and she loves that she could probably put Luci up a tree with a snap. It'd been like that with Inanna, sort of, but Inanna was too nice to be dangerous.

Not so with Persephone.

"No, no, never desperate and stupid. You tapdanced around that twit lawyer with enough skill to impress the Devil, darling." See, isn't she sweet?

"Your lawyer was an idiot," But the sweet words do their work, making the irritation fade. "You'd think he'd have figured to do a background check on someone with a dip-dye before letting just anyone in." And really, she knows that she's not the only one who would have said anything to see Luci. She was just the one who won.

They never should have locked her up to begin with. Lucifer was never meant for a cage.

"But that doesn't change the fact that you promised something you never could have given me." Persephone carefully straightens Luci's lapels and then looks right into her eyes. "I would have helped you even if you hadn't tempted me," And it was true. She loved all of them so much she'd have walked over hot coals if it would have helped.

"Oh he probably hated me by the time you showed up, I made it hard on him. If I'm destined to run a kingdom full of lawyers, I can rile one up every once in a while, can't I?" She pushes into Persephone's personal space, just a little, testing the waters. The lapels just indicate that the proximity was welcome, and Luci grins.

"Can you blame me? Who's ever just handed me something out of the goodness of their heart? ...aside from you?" She leans in, the tip of her nose brushing against Persephone's. "Don't be angry darling. I knew I'd made a mistake when I saw you reaching for my hand. I knew I wasn't crazy for singling you out at Amaterasu's show. You were always special, I just couldn't let myself hope I was right."

Part of her wants to argue that she was hardly special, she just woke up first. But even if it's just honeyed words to make her less angry Persephone can't help but want to believe them. By the end, though, it was all the desperate need to keep Luci alive. She jumped in front of a train to do it and she'd have done it thousand times more.

"You're too good at this," She says softly. "I'm trying to pissed at you."

"I know, and the majority of me is really trying to make that a difficult task, and I'm sure you know I'm Champion Sweet Talker by default." Luci rests her forehead on Persephone's, moving to slide her hands over the other god's shoulders. "But as candied as the words are, they're the truth when you get right down to it. I promise."
