Societal: The culture you grew up in forces you to breed in order to keep society going. Understandable, isn't it? There may be freedom to choose who you'd like to be with, as long as you get it done, or your partner

Station: As a royal or equally important person, you have an obligation to produce an heir.

Heat: Going through cycles is normal for your kind, yet this is the first time you've actually had the urge to full-on procreate.

Aphrodisiac: You're so pushed full of juice you can't think straight, but you do know there's one thing you want to do.

Drugged: As in the above, you're out of it - this time, even more so. What you want to do isn't an issue.

Confined: More like the breeding stable concept, where characters are imprisoned and forced to mate through that way.

Feral: You've been driven to the edge, like an animal in rut. You have no other instincts but to fuck, fuck, fuck.

Last of Your Kind: The two of you must reestablish your race, no matter what.

Last of Your Gender: You're valuable because of your ability to give or carry life, and you're the only one.

Has to Be You: You're the one destined to bring about one special offspring, for good or for ill.

Garner Sympathy: Remember that moment in Catching Fire where Peeta tells everyone Katniss is pregnant? Being pregnant or appearing to be so would be quite advantageous to you two right now.

Moving Too Fast: You're attracted to each other, and maybe there's a little something more, but all of that's put on high octane when you're thrown into the fire and have to perform.

Better Me than Anyone Else: Whether your love is platonic or romantic, you figure it's better that it's you they're mating with instead of someone who'd be cruel or cold to them.

Hate You: The person you despise more than anyone else...is the one you have to breed with? Some would call that a cosmic joke.

What Won't Kill Them: If you breed with them, you'll hurt them, but if you don't, both of you will die.

Pressured: Everyone around you is telling you that you need a baby, that your relationship isn't complete without one.

One-Sided: They'll love you if you give them something that's a part of you.

Humiliation: In your eyes, seeing them parenting/carrying your child is an ultimate blow to their ego.

Modification (aka the MPREG option): You can't carry a child, at least not without some "fixing."

Sudden: Quick! Something's burst through your door and is making you mate under fear of death. You'd better hope there's someone suitable nearby...

Marriage: In order for others to consider the marriage consummated, you need proof.

Mechanical: Robotics and machines will help in the process, making breeding much more efficient.

Scientific: Men and women in white coats are the order of the day, and they have a vested interest in seeing you breed...or how you respond to the threat of breeding.

Create an Army: You're particularly strong or talented, and important people want your offspring to mold to their desires.

Never See: Any child the two of you birth will be taken away as soon as it comes into this world. What's the point?

Cross-Bred: You two are not of the same species, but there are people or forces who would love to see what would come from your union.

Unusual Pregnancy: Did you expect it would be a normal human pregnancy? If one of you isn't human, that would be impossible! Nine months may be far too long of a gestation period, and you can't exactly feel something like, say, eggs kicking.

Love 'Em and Leave 'Em: In this world, breeding is like an assembly line. You just do your duty and move on.

Mates for Life: ...in contrast to the above, when you breed in this world, you're bound together for the rest of your days.

The Deed is Done: They're already good and pregnant, but you are required to continually mark your claim.

Tragic Ends: Did you really believe that you'd survive if you went through with breeding? Your performance and hesitation was noted, as was your rebellious spirit. You're less of an asset and more of a liability, so your life is forfeit.

Happy End: Actually, it all worked out for you! You were lonely before or constantly in danger, and now, you're safe and have a companion - and maybe even a family!

[She desperately wants to have the king/prince/duke's heir in order to secure her position. She's certainly not above getting him drunk and taking advantage of the situation. AUs welcome, PM to plot]

Dragons rarely settled down, preferring to travel the world and hunt where and when they could. Being constantly on the wing was also far safer as humans had no means to fly themselves. So once the sheep was stolen, that was that, all you could do was keep an eye out and hope the dragon wasn't looking fro a nesting area.

But any clever dragon wouldn't nest near humans anyway, no matter how temping a flock or herd right there for the taking was.

Ergo had been on the wing for some time when instinct told him he needed to find a suitable place to make a nest and take a mate.

Eventually, he found the perfect spot, behind a waterfall deep in a forest. So, for the better part of a month, he worked behind the shield of water, a tight mossy tunnel leading up into a dry cave. He hunted for skins to make a bed with, and meat to salt and dry. Treasure was an old dragon luxury, the great hordes long gone. He had only one treasure, a black leather necklace with a teardrop red diamond hanging from it. He would give this to his mate should they choose to mate and breed with him.

Once his new lair was set, he set out again, climbing to the top of a great tree and calling. He'd call for weeks if need be. Eventually someone would hear him and either come challenge him for the nest or come take a look and decide if this big black male was suitable to bear their offspring.

As far as dragons went Crona strange and special. The product of a dragon and a witch, not that the dragonic father knew that a web of spellwork had left the witch pregnant by him. Raised by the witch, tinkered with, the light, pearlescent pink dragon was on the smaller side for their kind. Seemingly male for all intents and purposes, and yet through the spell Medusa had used to become pregnant by a dragon had the side effect of leaving the dragonet with the reproductive parts of both male and female, even as his chest was flat.

Also, unlike other dragons, Crona had much more to do with humans, typically cloaked in spells to hide behind, his slighter humanoid stature allowing him to pass among them as his mother's tool. He and another, an orphan snatched up by Medusa, put through countless tests together. However Medusa couldn't account for one fact, that while seemingly male Crona still felt intrinsic needs to mate and produce offspring. A need that won out and broke the hold the witch had on him, sending him out on his own away from all he knew. Learning by trial and error what other dragons knew long before his age. Getting help from other dragons along the way leaving him self sufficient as he left the awkward adolescent dragon age behind and began the awkward stage between until he became a full adult.

It was during this time that he heard it. Sunning himself on a rock in a clearing, a brook bubbling away nearby. The call tickling his ears, perking his interest. It wasn't the first call he'd heard before. It was, however, the first one that the mere sound of that voice sent a shiver through him. He'd answered a few, been turned away by most of the oddity he was, walked away from the rest the moment his curiosity over who they were had been sated.

He took to the sky and headed in the direction of the call. Perhaps it was he was the closest, or the only one within a distance to hear, but he arrived without sensing anyone else nearby. he hovered in the sky, his scales pale and shimmering with that pinkish hue, his hair a pinkish lavender hanging in his silver eyes. How long had this one been sending out a call? Crona hadn't settled in any place and had just bee passing through at a leisurely pace.

He sent out a little trill in response as he began to glide down next to the pool the waterfall fed into. He was dressed in a thin pale purple cotton dress cut to fit a dragon's body without hindering his wings. There was nothing on his feet, but there was an anklet of black string woven through with obsidian beads, a gift from a particularly odd group of humans he'd taken a liking to in his travels that had no issue with him being a dragon, or even an odd one as it were.

"You were calling..." he said to the dragon who occupied this place. Wary knowing he would seem male, even with the peculiar scent of being fertile about him. Hoping he wouldn't be attacked for seeming to be a challenger.
