It's easier to find the club's location than it is to shake his tail. For any normal spy, this would be a problem. But Bucky isn't normal by any means. He changes planes twice, taking a flight from New York to Amsterdam, then Amsterdam to Ontario, down to Miami, then Cleveland. Forty-eight hours after intercepting the first text from Thea, he touches down in Star City, courtesy of a flight from Arizona. He uses a scrambler to intercept another text just long enough to send a message of his own (Here. -B), then makes his way to their meeting place in much the same manner.

It's a process that takes the better part of two hours, five taxi changes, and at least twenty minutes of walking down dark alleys to avoid city-wide surveillance. Nevermind it's pouring rain. World-class assassins are above that.

Eventually, though, he makes it in one piece. She'd warned him about being creepy, but there's not much Bucky can do about that. He's on the run, a wanted felon in over a hundred countries thanks to the stupid Accords, and trained to move more silently than a shadow. However, about a minute before visual contact, he deliberately makes enough noise so she'll know he's coming. Or someone is coming. He's dressed down; hooded jacket, jeans, work boots. Gloves to hide the fact only one of his hands is normal. Two guns and at least twice that in bladed weapons, none of them visible at a glance. (Or even a close glance.)

When he's just at the periphery of the building, or what was once a building, he calls out quietly.

"Hey, eavesdropper."

[ Scotland has been gorgeous by day but the nights are something entirely different, cold and often wet besides. She has grown accustomed to asking Mrs. Baird for extra firewood, but there are evenings when she returns from either exploring her surroundings or finding a new plant to match to the illustrations in her books and finds the materials for a fire already laid in the hearth, ready for her to strike a match to them. She hadn't quite packed warmly enough for traipsing about in poor weather, so when another storm rolls through the Highlands she postpones her desire to walk along the nearby road - for fear she'll catch cold but also so she doesn't get splashed with water from a passing automobile.

The room is warm and cozy by the time Frank returns, and Claire has already changed into her nightgown, managed to draw a brush through her uncooperative curls and poured herself a glass of something strong - to warm insides as well as outsides, Mrs. Baird had said before leaving her with the tray. She glances up from her seat by the fire, her book open and resting on her lap as he enters. ]

Another productive afternoon with the reverend, I assume?

However, the fact that Dougal guides the rent party to small village to wait out the storm means it's considerable, the thunder calling down torrents of rain. The horses slosh through the muddied roads and as soon as they're tethered the men make for shelter, a few left to see that they're cared for under Dougal's orders.]

[ Natasha was cradling her second cup of coffee against her chest and standing at the window as she watched the rain fall. The cafe owners didn't seem to mind that she was lingering and not taking a seat. As long as her money was good and since there were only a scattering of patrons still inside at this hour, it wasn't as if she was doing any harm.

Not many people knew that this kind of weather was her favourite. Most seemed to assume that perhaps it was the snow given her homeland, but that wasn't the case. She should have known better than to have left her current apartment without an umbrella but there were worst places to wait out a storm than in a cafe.

The old man that owned the place came up behind her and in quiet French he let her know that the place was closing. She gave a nod and offered up a slight smile before her eyes flicked back to the crowd and she timed it so that as she stepped out of the doorway she was already under someone's umbrella.

She could flirt her way out of it, excuse herself by picking a language and pretending to butcher French as if it would be a cultural misunderstanding, but any plans on explaining why she was stealing space under a stranger's umbrella when she glanced at the man holding it and realised he was far from a stranger. ]

Of all the umbrellas in all the towns in all the worlds I walk under yours.

[ "brief overcast" was the weather prediction. in retrospect, synonymous with "extreme bullshit." the heavy rain causes an accident backing up traffic on leipziger that she has to take a fairly creative detour to circumvent, recuperating lost time by artfully speeding and decelerating depending on the neighborhood. east berlin is the rat's maze she was raised in; the traps change names and places, but the smart vermin learn early what to look for.

her phone buzzes and she ignores it. unless they want her personally escorting lawmen to the scene, she's going as fast as she can. swerving down the agreed upon alley, she breaks harshly in front of the bagman. the car continues to slid on the slick cobbles and into a broad, shallow dip in the ground, lifting a curtain of water that obscures wolfgang for a split-second before soaking him. what matters is the passenger side door is nearest him, which she leans over and tersely pops open before returning her hands to the wheel. "get in!" is insistent in her mouth but redundant according to her brain: she clenches her teeth and flattens her lips and hits the gas, slamming the open door shut with sheer velocity. ]

Trouble? [ she checks her rearview mirror, her tone tight. agitated. if there was, it wasn't anything he couldn't handle, but in this kind of work, things change on a dime. ]

[ For a man who was on the run, with multiple warrants after him, Erik took a certain amount of pleasure in being able to walk the streets unrecognized. The rain helped somewhat, but mostly it was the distinct feeling that came from the heavy rain pouring, the eventual petrichor after the rain would cease, but for now, Erik enjoyed the isolation as he canvassed the nearest building.

Getting inside would be easy, cameras pointed in the other direction, quite disabling of others. There would be an associate on the inside, which wasn't too difficult to enable in the first place. For every man that Charles enabled, Erik could match him one on one. Not that they'd ever discuss that, at least not openly, but the realization remained constant with Erik. He waited out on the street, rain pouring down and turning into heavy droplets off his umbrella. Any minute now they'd show up, possibly apologizing for the lateness, or indicating something else had come up. Nonstop excuses, but excuses nevertheless. Frowning, Erik looked up towards the rooftop, waiting for the slightest motion. His associate was late, that much was certain, and Erik's patience was wearing thin. Eventually the excuses wouldn't be good enough.

Instead, off to the side, Erik caught a brief glimpse of movement from someone else. Someone a little too familiar. ]

I thought Charles didn't let you guys go out alone anymore. [ His tone had the slightest bit of a sneer to it, the briefest hint of condescension. Erik knew he'd had to re-plan everything if Alex was here, because that meant there would be some semblance of defense involved, but that could be postponed if needed. ]

[There's no clear reason for Saya to be out in the afternoon. He was feeling some cabin fever being cooped up in his room all day, where negative thoughts can fester. It's still too early for the clubs to open, where he'd go to pretend to be normal and forget said thoughts for a chunk of the night...so a walk in the light rain seems to be the next best thing.

The heavy rainfall from earlier had since reduced itself to soft drizzles. Against his better judgement, he's gone out without an umbrella. At the very least, he'd taken a loose fitting hoodie with him that seems to be good enough.

As little as the light drizzle bothers him, he zones out just long enough to not move away as a car speeds past and splashes a huge puddle at him.]

- ah...! [His first instinct is to wipe his face with his hands, since the sleeves are now soaked along with the rest of the front of his hoodie.] ...geez...

Gem had never seen so much water. When it started, it was fun to stand outside and watch it coming down. Her planet hadn't had rain like this. But then it started pouring. And storming. Gem had fled from the loud sounds into a nearby shop. The shop owner hadn't minded her standing near the window, so long as she only dripped on the welcome mat. But he wanted to close and it was raining harder than ever. And she didn't seem to understand because she was a mute. The owner was trying to get her to understand but talking louder and slower was having no effect, other than scaring her. She didn't want to go out there, it was dangerous! She shrank away from his hand as he tried to reach her, moving closer to the corner booth. Her hands up to protect her face gracefully as if to say please don't hurt me.
