There are many supernatural beings that congregate in groups for survival or protection or just for companionship, not unlike humans. Witches have covens. Vampires have nests. But none of those have connections that can compare to the bond of a werewolf pack.

You should know. You're part of one, either born a werewolf or turned. For humans, blood is thicker than water; for wolves, the pack is to the bone. Of course, with humans, romantic relationships can complicate closeness of other sorts. That's not the case with werewolf pairings, as they tend to grow out of natural pack dynamics and are viewed as just another facet of life. The only difference is that werewolves tend to treat relationships, even potential would-be-mates, with extreme seriousness.

After all, you'll fight for your pack, so you'll fight for your mate, won't you?

[So this is it now. This is them, two omegas mated and alone, with no pack to turn to, diving away from their old lives to... Who knows where.

How did they end up like this? That's something Derek isn't sure he'll every be able to answer, nor is he sure he'll ever really want to. It's the fact of their life now, and it's up for them to make do with what they have. Which is mostly each other. But it's something.

After a long while, he stops at the side of a road, needing some time to collect himself. He looks to Ethan before reaching for the wolf with and taking his hand.] How do you feel?

[Ethan had no qualms about acknowledging how they got here. His brother was dead, Derek had found his position in the pack usurped... really it made sense for the two of them to up and leave.

It was almost funny though, the two of them running, ending up in a car hundreds of miles away from Beacon Hills and Derek going as far as to take his hand across the console and ask him how he was, it made him laugh.] I don't know? I mean... I've kinda gone full circle here.

[He nods, running his thumb over the back of Ethan's hand.] I know what you mean... [Beta to Omega, to Alpha to Omega again... Apparently, anything above a lone wolf was not something he'd ever be able to hold on to.

After another moment, he looks back to the road ahead.] Bright side is we can go anywhere from here, I guess.

[He nods at that, part of him wanting to actually distance himself from the affection, as if it was wrong in the face of everything else.] That's your bright side? We're free to roam the world like a couple of gypsies?

[He shrugs.] If that's what you want. I was thinking we could go and settle anywhere else, no baggage behind us. Maybe go to South America. My sister's there.

Are you trying to... I don't know, adopt me? [He frowns at that, wondering why the hell Derek was going through these lengths for him. Sure they'd fucked a couple times but that didn't mean anything, not in the greater scheme of things and this was a boy for whom nice things weren't the norm.]

[He furrows his brows at that, because that's... Not the word he'd use. At all.] Uh... No, I'm not trying to adopt you. But I am trying to get you come with me.

That's what I meant! Not that you're trying to be my fucking dad, dumbass. But uh- you don't have to take me anywhere, we can both go our own ways. [Because wow the idea of Derek being his dad was pretty sick, all things considered.]

[He rolls his eyes at the weird miscommunication before speaking again.] Anyway, I know I don't anything, I just... [He shrugs, as if saying 'probably stupid, but...'] I already lost so much so fast. You too. I thought we'd both prefer if we could hold on to at least someone, for whatever it's worth in the end.

[He just frowns at that because it was actually vaguely surprising that Derek was being so openly emotional about all of this, or at least so openly sincere.] I get it... I mean its probably a better idea, right? Two omegas together have a better chance of survival... and we've both been through a lot of shit over the last couple of years.

[He chuckles ruefully at that.] Yeah... We have. [He then looks up at Ethan again.] So does that mean you're coming with me?

I guess? [He still has that look of internal conflict about him if only because he's having a hard time adjusting.]

[He gives Ethan a look, a bit of a mix of concern and wondering what's going on in his mind.] Something on your mind?

A hell of a lot of somethings, dude... we're kinda fucked. You know that, right? Its.. its gonna take more than five minutes for me to be okay? [He meant to say okay with this but instead let the word hang alone there, after all it was going to take him a while to be actually okay, he still had the sensation of having been gutted, carved out from the inside and discarded.]

[He nods, understanding what Ethan's saying. He, at least had experience losing everything, and knew that it was possible to recover and move on without losing yourself or your life.] I know. But look... We can make it, ok? I've lost everything too, lived as an omega. We can do it, if we play our cards right. Keep that in mind, for what it's worth.

[He just frowns at that because really he didn't want to just make it he wants what he had back, especially when things had just started to look up for him, especially when his life had finally been going in a direction he could be pleased with. A direction which was now completely opposite to where he was heading.] You make it sound like its easy.

[He digests that for a moment, trying to find the right words to say.] It's not. But you can rebuild if you play your cards right. As long as you're alive, it's not over.

[This is cracky as all hell, but how would you feel about something where maybe Natasha is a werewolf and runs into Peter and sort of figuring out the resulting pack dynamics, full moon shenanigans, etc?

I've only seen s1 of Hemlock, so I'm a tiny bit canonblind. ]
