The Premise • Ideas • OOC The Premise Ah, the joy of pregnancy. Many people consider it a true blessing to be able to bring. For others, admittedly, it's not exactly planned. Still, once it's done, that's one etch-a-sketch that usually can't be shaken to erase. Might as well get used to that pregnant glow. But hey, look at this way: those who are with child can find themselves with a much fuller figure, larger breasts, a higher libido...that's surely worth the surprise lactation, the sore feet, and the eventual baby- Right? Today, the Hotel is dabbling in the family way, and that means it will be using its typical wiles. You may remain in the Hotel proper, or you may believe yourself to be in a completely different world, such as a modern couple starting a family or a medieval lord and lady producing an heir. The timey-wimey magic of the place also comes in handy, as the stages of pregnancy can be jumped to at random, so no two people may be the same degree of "along." Don't think that the gender roles are so rigid here as they are in the real world, though; it wouldn't be amusing that way. Biological men can get pregnant, biological women can impregnate others...just go with it. So have fun and enjoy the new kinks in your sex life! You know, some people have a pregnancy fetish... The two of you are making a child born from the union of two different species. - Lovesick. This pregnancy is an expression of your love. - Expected. Everyone expects you to have a baby, so you decide to do so. - As a Favor. Your friend wants a baby, so you'll act as a surrogate - Roleplay. You're just using the idea of pregnancy up as an exciting aide. There's no actual risk here, but you have all the trimmings. - WILDCARD. This was possibly one of the worst ideas Gaius had ever had, but since Lissa had gotten him the day she ordered him to marry her... So here he was, in her tent, right after Frederick had finished his midnight rounds, and giving his fiancee a cheeky kiss to wake her up, while still covering her eyes. She still had to guess... even if the fact that that he called her princess in his voice might make it more obvious.

Sure, now that they were getting married, this was totally cool with her, but a girl needs her beauty sleep so she was hoping he had a good reason for this. It didn't have to be much of a reason to be a good one, granted.

Muriella hadn't always been the most lucky in love. She had, once, foolishly fallen for a sorcerer who'd tried to use her power to aid him in usurping the throne. But that was in the past now, and she'd worked hard to redeem herself. It wasn't easy, but she'd found a place where her skills were truly appreciated. A place where she could serve her kingdom as her father before her.

So a political alliance alongside someone with whom she had developed a mutual respect and trust--especially if that alliance would not only provide the king with an heir, but also potentially foster a better opinion of mages in general--didn't seem like such a bad idea. At least, not in theory. Actually cementing that alliance was a work in progress.

[I can start. Did you wanna do that breeding lottery thing again or something different? I was thinking Nickov was part of the first Valcovlians to visit Earth (maybe a few dozen or more), maybe crash landing somewhere outside Wakanda which would lead to some investigations on T'Challa's part. He finds the tall, blue visitors and after a friendly meeting and exchange, he gives the Valcovlian's sanctuary in Wakanda and from the rest of the world?]

It was the subtle thumping against his hand that had woken him up, really, it was more like tiny pops or kicks. The young king groaned as sleep began to wane quicker than he would have liked, consciousness taking its place. A yawn followed closely behind and then he realized, after another soft pop occurred against his hand, that it was the slightly swollen tummy underneath.

T'Challa got up to lean on his elbow, smiling as he gently caressed the blue skin stretching due to the growing life inside his slumbering mate. He kissed a blue shoulder, a lingering soft kiss before pressing another to back of his mate's head covered in a messy curtain of white hair.

Nickov, his mate, had been one of a handful of Earth's newest extraterrestrial visitors, mostly harmless and many of them kind, unlike the Chitauri that had invaded years prior. His and his company's ship crash landed miles outside the kingdom and would have gotten newsworthy coverage had they landed anywhere else outside the borders of Wakanda.

Many discussions were had before the blue beings were allowed into the kingdom of Wakanda, and many more followed that. The Valcovlians were granted sanctuary from the outside world that would only fear and project bigoted ideas onto them. Agreements were made, scientists began to research the Valcovlians' damaged communication systems, and the blue beings were paired with compatible, and willing, Wakandans to bypass the aliens' complications with reproducing.

T'Challa did not exempt himself as he quickly grew fond of Nickov and agreed to mate with the courteous blue alien. Now, five or so months along with T'Challa's child, they were closer than ever.

Nickov had not been all that special, just among the relatively few Valcovlians that had made the journey. Course he had no idea that every single one of them needed to pull their weight. And by that of course, reproduce. He'd always liked the idea of having cubs, but the idea of him being the one carrying had never crossed his mind.

Took nearly a year to settle in and have the operation done, and then finding someone to pair him with. Eventually the king himself came forward! Nickov was so honored and he and T'Challa got along splendidly.

Another year later and he was round with their first cub. It had already been an exhausting five months with another potential five to eight to go. Mixing human and Valcovlian DNA was an uncertainty. And they were the first mixed couple to get this far. Many had miscarried, and their own start had been fraught with several hospital visits. Now it seemed things had finally settled and only the regular check-ups had been necessary.

Unfortunately what was a nice reminder for T'Challa was not welcome this early in the morning for the Valcovlian. Nickov stirred, frowning as the cub within him decided to wake him earlier than he would have liked. "No...sleep..." he muttered. But it was no use as the fetus decided that sitting on his bladder was the best way to start the day. A groan of annoyance and Nickov hauled himself out of blankets and warmth-and T'Challa's wonderful arms-to get to the bathroom half asleep.
