Before Clarice could inquire further, the coffee shop -- and half the city -- was reduced to rubble by what looked like an invasion of alien robots [ooc: the minions from Gokaiger]. She had seen enough weird crap in her life that this development registered as little more than an inconvenience. Without missing much of a beat, Clarice dusted herself off and started teleporting into the midst of the robots, striking them with acrobatic martial arts moves and well-placed portals.

She didn't expect to prevail against an entire invasion force; she just wanted to protect this city block at the very least. She definitely didn't expect the help she got.
