The Island Resort Meme

You and (one other person) are stranded on an island, but it's this isn't another Robinson Crusoe or Castaway thing. There is a furnished resort on it, with just about any amenity you can think of. A spacious villa awaits you among the lush flora, as luxurious (or as spartan) as you'd like. Maybe there's a hot tub. Or a swimming pool. Or both. It could be equipped with jet skis, surfboards, scuba gear, and everything else you need for an unforgettable tropical vacation. The wildlife might be so untouched, you wake up to some of the fauna sharing your bed.

How did you get here? Booked a vacation and surprise surprise, someone had the same idea? Perhaps you woke up one day on the beach with no memory of how you arrived (sound familiar?). Maybe this is all part of some diabolical plan to isolate you from the rest of the world so you can't fulfill whatever mission you set to do. Whatever it is, you're stuck here for now. For how long? You decide.

So, what are you going to do now?

• Comment with your character and preferences. Writing your own top level is highly encouraged! Describe the kind of tropical paradise you want your character to be stuck in and any and all circumstances leading up to it.

"Well, I do have Bruce to live up to. Or down to, as it may be seen." The downside of Bruce's public persona; at least he's seen as harmless and well-meaning to anyone not trying to make him look bad. "I think some people consider us on a countdown to the first of his kids to crack in some way."

Anyway. "So sightseeing, hold the reconnaissance, corruption under consideration. Am I missing anything?"

"Well, I was told to make sure you eat and sleep, too," Bart joked. "I think the list of instructions were shorter when I got Dox."

He shrugged, finishing up his second plate and moving towards a third. "Is this really how you travel? I've lived in apartments smaller than the bathroom. I think we could fit the entire team in the hot tub, and Beast Boy could be a hippo or an elephant."

Wry: "Oh, good. Always nice to know no one thinks I'm capable of basic self-care."

And she glances at the room. "It's how Timothea Drake-Wayne travels." Tim isn't all that picky, but it doesn't make her especially uncomfortable, either.

"To be fair, I'm not sure Alfred thinks Bruce is capable of managing on his own," Bart pointed out. But he still couldn't really feel comfortable living at a level where one didn't bother with trifles like bills. It almost seemed frivolous, in a scary kind of way.

"I don't really get it. Why anyone would really feel that all this is necessary. The bed's nice, and the shower is insanely awesome, and we should really spend some time in there, but...it's just weird. I think I scandalized room-service by not caring enough about the frou-frous they wanted to put on everything."

She shrugs. "It's not necessary. But it'll exist as long as there's people who can pay for it."

Like the Waynes. And the Drakes, for that matter. "Do you want to stay somewhere else?"

"I guess I'll have to learn how to be a snob or something," Bart said. "Complain if they only have seven-grain bread instead of 9, or whatever."
