We're going to have a bad time.
 Don't be so cynical: love at first sight definitely exists. What also exists is love at wrong sight. Both of you feel a spark, hearts a-flutter, magnetism in full force, all the tell-tale signs of an instant pull, so what's the problem? Well, there are some big problems. One of you could be taken, you could be on opposites sides of a battle or movement, you have a duty that conflicts with romance, this could be the wrong place at the absolute wrong time, the attraction could be forbidden, or any litany of pitfalls you can imagine could exist. Oh why oh why are you having this sudden swooning now? Here? It's no use denying you're in a pickle. The quandary is...will you avoid this flight of fancy or will affairs of the heart hit you square in the chest? HOW to PLAY

Hope you don't mind a ridic human robot.
The world, the water, the sky, the...oh, what was the use? X didn't even know where to start. Buildings were far older, crafted with a more twentieth century edge, and the people wore clothes that were at least slightly different from what he remembered.
His communicator didn't work, his trans server was absolutely fried, and he had no means to get in touch with anyone.
Nobody.
Not Zero, not Dr. Cain, not...anyone. He'd tried for days, but it just wouldn't take. His armor repaired itself with enough time, sure, but...
So there he was, sticking out like a sore thumb in his blue armor (he took his helmet off a while ago, so his hair was visible, at least), sitting on a park bench in the middle of a downpour.
He'd sat there to think not even twenty minutes ago, but then the rain started falling.
And he had no umbrella.
Just a lonely young man in armor, sitting in the rain like he was the biggest dumbface of the year.]

Luckily, for once she had been prepared, so a moment later, there is a sympathetic smile on the face of a girl with blond pigtails, who is holding an umbrella over herself and now over X as well.
"Are you alright?" she asked him. "It's too bad you got caught in the rain. Where were you going?" She seemed to speak in a slight rush by default, or maybe she was just energetic. She can also walk him, if not to where he was going, at least to somewhere indoors maybe.

X glanced up.
He'd seen this girl before, once or twice, when he was wandering about and trying not to attract too much attention. It was usually a quick glance, though, since she was almost always running, and it was in the morning. Even sitting next to her, she had so much energy.
It was refreshing, really.
He smiled a little, though it was a bit tired.
"Yeah, I'm okay. Just...took me by surprise, that's all. Thank you...for the umbrella, I mean."
Where was he going? Yeah, that was the question, wasn't it. Somewhere far away from here, that was for sure. Somewhere where the houses didn't look quite so old, the air wasn't so clean, and humans were always cautious in case of a Maverick attack.
Come to think of it, X hadn't seen one single Reploid since he was here. The one time he thought he found a connection via SAR (Search for All in Range), an unknown IP address came up, which was unlike any computer he'd ever seen, and seemed hostile that he even knew how to contact them.
Needless to say, X promptly apologized and did not send any messages again.
"And as for where I'm heading...somewhere far away, I think. It sounds strange, but I'm not entirely sure where I am."
Of course it sounded strange. But what was he going to do? This was the first human who didn't run away from him or look at him strangely when he tried to talk to them. The least he could do was be honest.

Well, no, she wasn't looking at him strangely, necessarily, but Usagi was definitely looking a little more concerned. He wasn't a kid, but he was lost? Then again, just last week she'd gotten off the bus at the wrong stop and it had taken awhile to figure out what bus to take from there and- Yeah, she wasn't someone to be pointing fingers.
So that was her main assumption. There was a bus stop right near here, too, anyway. "Did you miss your bus stop?" she suggested. "We can look at the map to find the right one, if you did." After all, she wanted to be helpful. In fact, she was already reaching over to tug on his arm to bring him to the bus stop and map.

Oh, right. Mass Transit. Ever since Mavericks became more widespread, mass transit went underground with extra security. That, and only humans could use and operate it, to keep it safer for those just trying to get to work. When did Mass Transit become accessible for Reploids?
...or, the better question was, how did he get to a place where Reploids didn't even seem to exist? Either that, or they were so advanced that they were indistinguishable from humans?
X had already determined that he was nowhere near where he needed to be, and the technology was far less advanced (when did people start using cell phones again? Or CDs?)...
But the possible solutions to this quandary were too strange to even fathom.
He let her tug him along; he wasn't exactly heavy, despite his appearance (in fact, standing at five foot three and weighing barely over a hundred pounds even with armor made him almost a featherweight), and used one hand to hold onto his helmet.
"No, I didn't...miss a bus, exactly." How was he going to word this? How did you say 'I was fighting an evil robot in Antarctica, the place exploded, and I ended up here'? "I know this is going to be a strange question, but do you know the date and time?"

She knew this mostly because it meant her birthday was coming up in another couple weeks. It's circled in very thick red on her calendar. Hopefully her friends will notice that! She wants a party.
More importantly right now, this guy really seems lost if he's supposed to be in Antarctica. "Um, but this is Japan," Usagi told him.
And that means she really should introduce herself, because it looks like this is going to take awhile to figure out. "I'm Tsukino Usagi, but you can call me Usagi-chan."

...He did.
And the only reaction she could give was a mildly surprised stare and a deadpan response. Maybe this place was a little stranger than he thought. Or maybe she'd seen her fair share of strange things--it was never right to judge on appearances, after all.
Still, it took him back a bit.
"Y-yeah, so it is." He was glad his Japanese speech setting was working okay, or else this would have been a long conversation. It was strange that when he spoke any language other than his default, he had a slight American accent (and for all he knew, he was the only Reploid who acted this way. He'd tried to get it fixed, thinking it was a bug, but there was nothing wrong with his speech systems, no matter how many times he'd checked). "Sorry. This is probably sounding really strange to you."
He paused.
"I'm X. It's nice to meet you, Usagi-chan."
He didn't have a family name, not really, and he really hoped that she wouldn't start delving into that can of worms. He supposed that if he had to give a last name, it could be the name of his creator, or possibly of Dr. Cain, since he treated him like a son...

A mysterious name for a mysterious boy, who thought he belonged in Antarctica. The truth was, Usagi had seen a lot of strange things, including a time she and her companions had gone to the north pole. And another time, to the moon. So vast distances weren't exactly completely out of her experience, either, although they certainly weren't usual.
She was just about to say something else, when nearby screams drowned her out and took her attention as she seemed suddenly alert. Just where she was looking, people were running away from- something, but what?
The daimon came thundering after its potential victims far too quickly. Was there even time to get away to transform?

If Zero heard that, he would have laughed for hours. X, a spy? Or a thief? Surely you jest! Someone so earnest and straightforward that any air of mystery would fly away into the wind?
Still, the look made him blush a little. It was hard not to with this kind of attention. When was the last time he'd even had a conversation with a girl that didn't revolve around work?

The screaming stampede of people broke whatever thoughts he might have had, falling out of his head and into the aether. Just as Usagi turned, X did as well, expression equally serious.
A Maverick?
X put his helmet on with practiced speed, and he was already readying his X-buster (just in case. If he didn't have to use it, that would be ideal, but...).
...No. It wasn't a Maverick. Or at least, it didn't look like any Reploid he'd ever seen. Its body was larger, its features too monstrous, and whatever energy readings were blaring at him through his helmet, they weren't...normal.
In fact, if he looked closer, it seemed to be--
--A human? Was there a human inside of that...thing? What in the world was it, then? Was the human still alive? What could he even do to stop it, if that was the case--
--Non-lethal force. Or at least something enough to take down the hostile so he could extract the human without harming them, if he could even do that.
First things first, though. He couldn't do anything with civilians in the way. He had to make sure Usagi got somewhere safe first.
"Usagi-chan, hide! I'll take care of this!"

So, as if she was going to run away, she dashed to the nearest cover she could find.
"Moon Cosmic Power, Make-Up!" The transformation energy swirled around her, leaving Sailor Moon in her place.
That done, it was Sailor Moon who ran not away like X had told her to, but towards the noise and scuffling instead. The Death Busters again... Fighting daimon wasn't going to help if they couldn't stop their enemy from just trying to create more!
But for now, it was time to fight.
