Bucky looked across the room at Steve. It's honestly the first moment where he's had time to actually look at him. He observes the slant of his jaw, the cut of his hair, the way his eyes twitch when he's confused. The way he's still a bit jumpy after their fight with Tony. He can tell it's eating him up inside. After rescuing the other avengers from their floating prison. Steve had returned to Wakanda and Bucky.

King T'Challa was graciously offering them sanctuary and Bucky felt eternally grateful for it. It was odd though...to know you were safe. He'd been so unsafe for so damn long it was like he didn't know how to not be on constant alert. Having his Stevie around helped though. He'd never admitted it out loud but he'd always had a thing for the blond, ever since they were teens. He hid it well he thought, all the romancing with the pretty girls, never noticing that it might have hurt the one he really wanted to romance. Now though...now he wondered if he should keep quiet. If he's learned anything from these past couple weeks it's that life is too damn short to not say what you need to say.

"Hey Steve...can we talk for a bit?" He asks. It's now or never. He knows if he waits he'll chicken out and well...he can't let that happen. Not after all of this. It would be wrong. Steve said he deserved some happiness...well that meant he had to tell him what would make him happy.

Steve had been distracted since getting back to Wakanda. Certainly, he'd gotten Bucky back and his team out of lock up but the weight of his fall out with Tony and the niggling worry about his friend stayed with him.

He wasn't too distracted for Bucky though. Worries could wait until later. "Of course, Bucky," Steve said and an easy smile spread across his face. Honestly, there'd never be a time when he wouldn't drop just about everything for the other.

"Did you send the package to Tony?" He asked because that had been something he knew the other was planning on doing, but whether he'd done it or not Bucky wasn't sure. He was also stalling because now that he had Steve's attention he was panicking a bit.

When Steve's finished talking Bucky takes a deep breath and just jumps in. "Steve I don't really know how to do this and not sound like an asshole so I'm just going to...what I'm trying to say...what I mean is...why the hell is this so hard?! I just want you to know how important you are to me, how thankful I am you saved me. I know it wasn't easy to risk your team, to risk your friendships for me. I still don't think I'm worth it all, but I appreciate your sacrifice none the less. I guess what I'm trying to say is..I...thanks Steve." Oh he was such a damn pussy! How could he not say it?! He was a little bit afraid his friend wouldn't feel the same way, but how would he know if he didn't say anything? He kind of wished the ground would open up and swallow him, save him from doing or saying anything else stupid.

[Peter isn't good at following directions for a number of reasons. In high school, it could easily be traced back to his eternal boredom, making up his own labs to do on the side while the class titrated a by the book solution (where do you think he made his web fluid?). College was a little bit better; he wasn't singled out for not paying attention, and most of it was of a high enough level for him.

But he digresses. Peter has also always been a Grade A shit, so seeing someone in trouble and passing on by has never been an option (except for the one time it was, and he'd been made to regret it forever). Add to that the new spider-sense reflex reactions, and it's not exactly easy for Peter to follow the Captain's orders on the battlefield. How can he swing over there when his senses are pulling him somewhere else?

It all leads to him disobeying a direct order, one that was shouted multiple times at him, but he just couldn't leave Steve on the ground there, fighting off the horde of weird fur-slime creatures. Yeah, it would lose them the street, but Peter hauled him up via web anyway, dragging them into another building, falling back.]

While John Crichton was busy searchig for solar flares and wormholes, Zhaan was visiting a nearby planet to commune with nature. She had invited her other crewmates in passing, but she doubted that anyone would join her. Most of them either disapproved of her habits, or had other interests, and that was perfectly acceptable. She didn't need company to enjoy herself when there were lush plants, cool water, and warm sun all around her.

On the other hand, as she stood, skyclad, bathing in the sunlit lake, she was not the least bit bothered to discover that she had an audience. "Don't be shy," she called, beckoning to the young man. "The water's lovely."

Peter has no idea there's another Earth boy on the planet with him. As far as he's concerned, it's just him and more aliens and he's totally taking a vacation, not hiding out from the bounty hunter he saw at the dock's bar. It's a nice lake, he guesses. Nice view. Nowhere near as nice as the one he catches standing up to her knees in the water, blue with these curves he wouldn't mind getting his hands on.

It's when she turns that he grins, recognition flashing across his face.

"Zhaan." He does the usual check for any new friends of hers - or "friends" with guns (could be for either one of them) - before he shrugs off his jacket, kicks off his boots and shimmy's out of his pants. He's left in his underwear and his shirt as he wades in after Zhaan. "You look the same as you did ten years ago."

When he was in his twenties and he thought getting freaky with a plant lady was the best way to spend his birthday.

"It's good to see you, too, Peter Quill," she murmurs, reaching up to cradle the back of his neck and draw his forehead to hers in greeting. "I've missed that sweet tongue of yours." And getting freaky with an energetic, young human had been an excellent way to celebrate a birthday, if she did say so herself.

Releasing him, she looks up at him, and smiles fondly at the memory. "How have you been?"

She does that thing where their foreheads touch and he feels close to her, inhumanly close, closer than anyone he's ever slept with before. He learned fast that was the equivalent of a handshake with Zhaan. "You got my sweet tongue any day of the week, Blue."

He squeezes the back of her neck for a moment before he grins, the expression lop-sided, more of a smirk than anything else.

"Good. Got my own ship now," Peter glances around at the lake and then back at Zhaan, close enough that her blue tits are almost pressing against him. Yeah, those had been good memories for sure. He'd had a few dreams about those. "You got time or you got a crew you're running with?"

For Zhaan, it feels as if a part of herself has come home, and she smiles all the more, drinking in the sight of that crooked smirk. Their bodies are teasingly close, but that is half of the appeal. His question tells her they will likely be getting intimately reacquainted before long.

"I have a crew, but they are otherwise occupied at the moment," she tells him, "I have time."

Peter's hand glides down to cop a feel on her perfectly nice ass (and he's seen his share of ass in the galaxy). He's about to continue when he thinks better of it. "There's nothing in this lake that could eat us, right?"
