It's been a very long day. A VERY long day, but he was finally home. His two week mission was over and he'd just left a debrief to return home to Steve. Clint and Natasha were fun and all, but he really really preferred being with hid best guy. Bucky was exhausted and all he wanted to do was to curl up in bed beside Steve and sleep for days. Of course, they didn't always sleep in the same bed, nightmares prevented them from sharing often and actually getting some sleep. Still all he could think about at the moment was slipping in between the cool sheets of Steve's bed and curling in close.

He walked into the apartment and put his keys on the table pulling off his tack gear as he went through the rooms. "Steve?" He asked as he walked towards his bedroom.

[ Today was the day Bucky supposedly came home. There was no guarantees when it came to return dates on missions, but Steve always kept his hopes high that for once they'd have an accurate estimate on his best friend's return. He'd kept that in mind all day, and naturally, was losing sleep because of it. The bed didn't feel right to him without someone there to hold him when needed, and vice-versa. One side of the bed remained cold, as Steve kept to his side. The whole scenario just felt odd and surreal to him, even though he should've gotten used to it by now. The soldier's sat in bed, back pressed against the headboard as he flips through one of the books he'd been reading for a while now, only to be interrupted by the voice he was so familiar with. ]

[ Giddy as ever to see Bucky, Steve couldn't keep the joy out of his voice. He stayed in bed, awaiting his friend's arrival, sitting up straighter, his eyes fixed on the doorframe, a large smile on the soldier's lips. ]

[Bucky stepped into the bedroom, a smile on his face.]

Hey there, doll. Miss me? [He teased but didn't even finish stripping off his gear before he walked over to Steve and gave him a hug. Two weeks was way too long to not be able to talk or see each other. Also he's been sleeping like shit.]

Never again. I'm never going on a comms silent mission this long ever again.

[ The hug was sweet, long, and Steve couldn't keep his hands off of Bucky. He had to remind himself not to squeeze too hard, just in case the other had any wounds from the mission he'd been on. The Captain was quick to tug Bucky down beside him, one arm wrapping around his friend's waist and settling at his lower back. ]

Maybe I did miss you. Did you miss me?

[ A large, warm smile settles on Steve's lips as he looks over his best friend, gone much too long, finally back in his arms. ]

Of course I missed you, the complaint about never going on a comms silent mission didn't clue you in?! I don't think I've had a full nights sleep in two weeks. Not since the night before I left. [He sighs and flops back on the bed for to stare at the ceiling.]

Is there any dinner left?
