the bodyguard meme

You're a pop star, or a royal, or maybe even the last of your kind who will bring about the Earth's redemption. Whatever the case may be, you're in a position that may be a bit dicey if you attract the wrong kind of attention.
And you're a bodyguard, a soldier, a knight - a protector. Somehow, you've been roped into protecting this person. You'll be rewarded, of course. The work may be cut out for you, but just do your job, keep your head down, and it'll go smooth.
Except for when the two of you break the bounds of professionalism and feelings begin to flourish. Being in such close quarters may get you to see the other in a different light, and saving someone's life just may be the ultimate form of intimacy.
Could this be the real danger? To feel so strongly for the one you've sworn to protect...are you compromised?
How to Play
1. Comment with your character and preferences, being sure to put if you want to play the guard, the guarded, or either. Also, you may want to put if you prefer fluffy, angsty, or smutty interaction - or have no preference. 2. Comment to others. 3. There are no prompts, because there are so many potential options there could be a hundred. Feel free to play anything: the beginnings of the relationship, just meeting, getting used to each other/not getting along at first, the obligatory first time, a threat on the protected's life and how their protector responds, how the feelings between the two has changed the protection, etc. Your only limit is you. |

Mary Crawley | Downton Abbey | M/F

She was off to York for some shopping and Moran was driving. Tom drove her sometimes so that they could make a day of it, but he was busy that day. Mary walked out of Downton's front door and moved across the gravel driveway to where the car was parked.
"Colonel Moran," she said with a nod of her head.

Piercing blue eyes kept to the road. His voice rumbled when he spoke, "Where is our first stop?"

They got as far as onto the main road to York before Mary had to break the silence. "Where is it that you are from originally, Colonel Moran?"

Cassie Cage | Mortal Kombat X | OTA
Re: Cassie Cage | Mortal Kombat X | OTA
At least this one looked like she belonged here. The last one Jessie 86ed before he even started because he stuck out like a sore thumb. She looked like a fighter, someone that could easily be training here herself. So she already had one point for her. Jessie turned her attention back to the bag, staying quiet for the moment. For all Jessie knew, she was just another fighter.
Re: Cassie Cage | Mortal Kombat X | OTA
She doesn't look much happier to be here as Jessie is to have her here.
Re: Cassie Cage | Mortal Kombat X | OTA
It wasn't that Jessie was irritated with needing a bodyguard. She just didn't want to waste anyone's time. To her, an 'invitation' to join some gang called the black dragon, and a subsequent threat because her answer was no didn't warrant protection. It was likely a joke, and Jessie hated to have the woman wasting her time.
Getting a second bottle of water, Jessie walked over to the woman, waiting for her to finish her squats, before offering it to her.
"Nice form. You've done this before." Jessie said, almost relieved.
((ooc: picked black dragon because, if we do play to an actual attempt, Kano's my louder bad guy voice. Hope it's OK.))

But when the Hierophant gave an order and you were a guest in her city, you obeyed.
That, of course, didn't mean Mina had to like it.
The fact of the matter was that she had every intention of making this Steve's life a living hell, if only to scare him off. But as she stepped into the lobby of her hotel, straightening the knot in her tie, she caught her first glimpse of him and thought...perhaps not.

He'd had been leaning against the hotel's tiny newsstand when Mina walked in. This wasn't a government job — at least, not in the traditional meaning of the words — so instead of a uniform, he'd put on a collared shirt, thin navy jacket and blue jeans. For all anyone else needed to know, he was just a man staying at the hotel.
When he saw her, he nodded his head in recognition, and then waited. If she approached, he'd introduce himself now. If she went upstairs, he'd follow and wait to speak then.

Taking off her hat, she made her way over to him.
Her eyes pored over him in the few steps she had before pleasantries. She admired his lovely eyes and the cleft in his chin. His bearing. His well-defined arm muscles. She hadn't really...noticed a man. Not in a long while.
But it seemed impossible not to notice him.
"Mister Rogers?" she asked, listing her head to one side.
no subject
Not your typical lady in distress.
And if she was noticing him, well, Steve was stupidly oblivious to the signs.
"At your service m'am." There's an old-timey, transatlantic accent in his voice — maybe even with a tiny bit of Brooklyn mixed in. "I hope your arrival was uneventful, Miss Barrett."

going to merge canons a little here, let me know if this works for you! (:
And then she sneezed.
It's a little ridiculous, yes, but she sneezed and wham - she was fine. Well, not fine; she was still somewhat injured from the whole dying bit, and the time energy was building up again, but for the moment she was stable. Just needed to expend the extra energy, if you will.
Only problem was, she also wasn't with the Doctor anymore.
Now Sexy isn't at all sure where she is, after some men found her wandering and she kind of collapsed. Then there were doctors (not hers, dammit all) and hushed conversations when they thought she couldn't hear them. Where do we send her? There's no Torchwood, no S.H.I.E.L.D., the Warehouse doesn't take people - is she dangerous - ]
yes excellent, I'm going to go pre-Civil War for Steve to make this easier
