Florence Nightingale Effect Meme

1. Previously aloof tough character gets injured, lets the love interest treat their injuries, and reveals a newfound trust and intimacy. This might or might not involve the tough person making that hissing sound when the love interest touches their injured face, but not quite pulling away...
2. The love interest gets injured, and the tough character treats them and suddenly reveals a tender side.
It's an old trope, admittedly, but an understandable one. You're hurt - physically or emotionally - and perhaps even on the brink of death. And then, out of the blue, someone saves you and brings you back. They heal you, they feed you, cloth you, wash you. In the human mind, the intimacies can bring up warm feelings, even in the hardest of hearts. Will you fight them or let them grow? And what about when it's time to leave? You may not feel like leaving your angel...
HOW TO PLAY
1. Comment with your character and preferences. Mention if you'd prefer to play the healer or the healed - or both, for greatest versatility!
2. Reply to others.
NOT EXACTLY PROMPTS, BUT IDEAS
- The finding and saving
- The hurt/comfort care process, I.E. cleaning wounds, bathing, wrapping bandages, etc.
- Feeding, finding clothes, etc.
- Mother hen behavior ("you're still hurt, don't do that!")
- Comforting from trauma
- Unwilling patient
- Pulling away, trying to be all aloof
- Realization of growing emotions
- Denial
- Attempts to instigate something more
- Jealousy at seeing your savior with someone else
- Confessions
- Mutual attraction
- First (accidental or no) kiss
- Obligatory sex scene option
- Make your own scene

Let me know if this doesn't work
When he unlocks the door he's wearing a pair of sweatpants and pulling a tee shirt over his head. ]
Karen, what happened?
[Every sense is attuned to her trying to determine if the blood is hers and if it is, how bad it is.]
it's perfect
There's blood, and it's hers. A smear from her noose downward. It's mostly stopped, so she thinks. At least he can't see blossoming bruises around her eye or on her cheek bone. The spatter of blood on the collar of her blouse is hers too, but she wishes it had been her attacker's. Maybe she'd get something to go on with it. )
I think I made someone a little uncomfortable with my last story. (She tries to sound braver than she feels. Lingering awkwardly in his doorway, as if she isn't sure it's alright to be here. There's so much said and unsaid between them. Yet this is where she came when she needed safety. )

No, but he'll be able to feel the bruise once he begins taking care of her.
He sighs at her words and concern is etched across his face. ] Come on. I'll get you cleaned up. You can tell me about it.
[ He still wants to touch her, but he's not sure he's got any right to do that after everything that's happened. ]

This was the moment after the big battle. Elizabeth had come here to observe the fight. It was a turning point in history, one that would shape and change many lives. When she'd first arrived she'd cared about that. Now she cared about the brave souls who'd fought.
One in particular, a boy only a little younger than her, caught her attention. He'd been injured in the fight, and Elizabeth was nothing if not a meddler. She waded out into the carnage, a medical kit in hand. "Don't move, you might hurt yourself worse."

Scott's head snapped in her direction and for a brief moment, his right hand twitched, ready to move up and grab his glasses. The battle was finally over and he had been too distracted looking around for the rest of the team to even heard her approaching. Frankly, he thought that everyone else but them had evacuated, it seemed like the safer option.
"It's fine, it's nothing really..."
Just his ribs, that might be bruised or broken, the large bleeding cut on his forehead and the wound in his shoulder. Because none of his injuries were lethal, Scott was immediately categorizing them as unimportant.
"It might still not be safe to stay here."
