It's time to hit the road.


For whatever reason, you are on a road trip. For ANY reason, you are on a road trip. Who knows? Up to you. One thing is certain--there is someone driving and someone is riding with him/her (whether it's legal or not). Sometimes, the destination is not the point--the road there is where all the fun is to be had!

Michael goes quiet for now. Of course, he has no intention to behave. He's already looking for a spot to crash the car and make it undriveable.

If he were Nikita he'd say something or offer help or whatever it is Nikita says to make people change sides. But he's not her and this situation just irritates him.

"A car bomb," he says seemingly out of the blue. "It was meant for me. My wife and daughter were in the car."

[peculate]

She gives him a long look. She knows the tension that comes with a plan. She's not safe.

"So you left them in the crossfire, and you decided to take it out on the world."

"No, I didn't."

He goes back to being quiet. He notes a few loose rocks on the dirt road ahead. Just need a big enough one at a high enough speed.

[peculate]

"Denial, huh? That's a long time to stay in the first stage of grief."

Enough. She can see the way his eyes are moving, and she's done.

She draws the gun and shoots him in the thigh. She probably missed the femoral. If she didn't, big loss. This guy is set to ruin her day.

His steering doesn't suffer much for being shot in the leg. He didn't make much of sound when it happened either. Of course, now he decides to gun it at full speed. Nothing to lose, if he's going to bleed out.

Then he hits the breaks abruptly. Sure, the car will probably go into a spin.

Her door's already open, and she casts herself out, flinging herself off the road and down the shoulder. Tall grass takes most of the impact, and the rest on her shoulder and then again when her thigh slams into a tree stump and brings her rolling to a halt.

She picks herself up, goes for the gun (dropped it, in the rapid movement - no surprise there) and points it at the crashed car.

Probably not the best thing to do after he's been shot but hey, he's having a bad day. It's not like he's going to run. He stays in the car so he can work on some first aid. This mostly involves using his belt and part of his shirt.

C'mon, Nikita, you can show up at any time. Really, not too manly to admit a rescue would be excellent right about now.
