[Peter winced, lifting his head to look at the long gash. It pretty much stretched the length of his abdomen.]

I'm starting to worry about your definition of a fun Friday night.

[Yeah, Peter was trying to have faith. He'd seen Matt in action, it was like he wasn't blind at all but - he was, and this wasn't a fistfight, this was Peter's stomach split open.]

It uh - here. [Peter gently rests Matt's hand at one end of the wound. If he's admitting it needs stitches, it's safe to say it's bad.]

And I'm worried about yours.

[He knew Peter admitting to the trouble meant it was bad, though he'd been able to tell as much upon finding him in the first place. Anyone with such speedy, enhanced recovery who needed stitches was lucky to have made it at all.

The thought concerned him more than he let on. They all lived risky lifestyles, but he never liked to see one of the others injured. He could only imagine what might have happened if no one had come to Peter's aid, and the thought made his chest tighten briefly.

Matt began stitching slowly and neatly, following the line of the injury and silently apologizing for how painful this must have been. It bothered him that he couldn't cart him off to a hospital, but that was a consequence of this lifestyle.]

[He'd have been killed ten times over if not for his healing ability. Seriously. How do you think he healed from gunshot wounds all on his own, back when he hadn't even had a friend like Matt to turn to?]

There's a blind guy giving me stitches. Stitches. I'm as relaxed as I'm going to get.

[It's a joke, one that Peter's breath catches on because ow fuck, that burns. His fingers twitch against Matt's wrist, just in case he needs to put him back on track of the wound, but he's very neat about it and his aim doesn't stray.]
