HOW TO PLAY:

• For some reason, your characters have to exchange clothes!
• Leave a comment with your character, a short description of what he/she/it's wearing and whatever preferences/info you want to share. Feel free to set up if you want to.
• Since this meme relies on knowing what your character's wearing PLEASE DON'T POST BLANK TOP COMMENTS. (I'll be deleting them.)
• Please don't post obscenely huge photos, or a string of smaller photos as a description. Links would be cool.
• Tag around!

Also I'm only about halfway through book 5, so if Kida's antagonistic attitude toward Izaya changes in canon, I'm not there yet << ]

[A public bath is such a nice way to relax after a little "business trip", isn't it? Too bad they're not mixed, or Saki could have come along. Still, there's something to be said for having a little alone time, and the place really is pretty quiet. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Oh, not that you're getting bothered while you're bathing. That would be rude! Instead, it's when you return to your little basket of clothing and other belongings that you'll find it contains something else entirely. There may be a moment of confusion as to whether you remembered where you left your things correctly - maybe you'd put them on the other side of the dressing room, after all? - but it shouldn't last long enough for you to actually go searching. Because those clothes are certainly familiar, especially that coat, and doesn't that just tell you all you need to know?

Izaya isn't there, of course. But if you put on those clothes and go outside - and, really, what choice do you have, unless you want to stay naked? - you may spot someone in an all too familiar white hoodie, sitting on the railing along the road like he belongs there. He even has that hoodie pulled up, because pfffft what even is your fashion sense? "Street gang thug" is so last season.]

[There's a confused mumble as Kida finds the basket full of things he didn't put there--and does indeed wonder if he's searching the wrong one. But no, he remembers he distinctly put his clothes in this particular basket. Three down from the top and two over from the right. So why, then, are his clothes not here?]

"Where's my hoodie?"

[Quiet, but not distressed. No, he's absolutely not stressing over the fact that his most favorite article of clothing is nowhere to be found.

He grumbles as he shoves on the pants--what a strange fit on him--and throws the shirt on over his head to hide his nakedness. And pauses when his hands settle on a certain familiar fur-lined jacket.

Izaya.

Why this.]

"Are you kidding me."

[Voice flat. He swims in the jacket. It's far too big. It does nothing to calm him down that he has to push the sleeves up a little so they don't hang over his fingertips. He feels like a child as he storms out of the bathhouse.

He is absolutely blaming this incident on Izaya--even as he (or maybe especially as he) spots the older male wearing Kida's clothing.]

"Is this some sort of joke?!"

[An expected reaction. Not the worst kind, if perhaps a little boring. But then, Izaya didn't do this all just for fun.]

If that's what you think, shouldn't you be laughing? I'm your employer, after all.

[Technically. Kind of. Show him some resp-pffffft okay maybe not. That's not why he hired you, anyway. He looks away, glancing down the street for a moment. Could be a coincidence. Or not...]

But no, rest assured. Entertainment wasn't my goal.

[What was, then? How nice of you to not even ask yet, but Izaya will save you the breath.]

A sigh. A shift in the stupid, tacky clothes. Maybe he was pouting a little. Maybe he was being overly petty.

[He knows it's a mistake as soon as the words leave his mouth, and he curses immediately after. He knows better. Knows better than to even hint to Izaya that he wants him to do anything.
