Your characters finds themselves in a strange room, filled with people familiar and unfamiliar...

Well, at least the food on the buffet table seems to be good?

How To:

1. Find the thread for the canon from which you play. If you don't see one, make one!

2. Post as your character, and thread away!

3. AU characters are totally OK. Crossover/fusion characters may post at all the fandoms/canons their crossover/fusion is derived from.

4. Fandom OCs may post at their fandom/canon's thread. Original Story Universe OCs will have their own thread.

Note : Please post as your character, and write down the name and canon/fandom of the character in the subject line. If your character is an AU character or an crossover character, please write that down, too.

Further explanations about your character and scenarios, preferences, etc, go in the comment box. (If you have a different idea while trying to tag some other character, that's alright, too.)

The Mun who tags can suggest their own scenarios, etc, too.

I'm thinking the HL comm isn't moving over, but I still want to RP with HL people here. Well, I want to RP with lots of people. I think a lot of Nexus/Dear_multiverse people have come to DW.

Yeeeah, I broke down and paid here to get his icons over. Most of the people I play him with have moved here, so... and the HL comm has been so quiet, so long.

I think the fandom as a whole has been too quiet for too long. There's supposed to be a reboot/remake in the works, but idk if that's still going to happen or not.

Oh god. That thing. I think it's stuck in late scripting and casting, which is a stall point for a lot of movies. Frankly I wouldn't mind if they never make the reboot, but I'm biased... Christopher Lambert will always be Connor to me. I saw the first movie back when it was new, and grew up watching the series when it was filmed just a couple hours' drive away. I guess we're in love with a fandom that's past its prime?

And, rewatching some of the old eps, it's a fandom that hasn't aged well, ironically enough. TBH, I don't want another remake. It'd be great if they could take the same concept and update it.

The idea is fascinating, yeah. They could restart/jumpstart it by doing whole new characters, still in the same universe and continuity (whatever passes for continuity in the HL universe), and introduce new fans to the idea that way.

Probably not going to happen.

Probably not, but if they did, they should definitely include Methos ;) Duncan was a bit too boy scout-ish.

And that's kinda what I've tried to do with Nat (plus a couple other quiet ones): show that Immortals can pretty much blend in w/o a whole lot of people knowing & have pretty much a 'normal' life.

I dunno, the actor looks older. That's probably the real flaw in picking up the old characters. I adore all the actors, but they're not ageless.

Maybe I should sign Cavan up here, too. Him and Nat should meet. He needs immortal friends. ;) I feel sort of like the character never really got off the ground in the comm, and I know we were having geographic trouble for Nat...

I don't think he looks that much older. He's been on Sanctuary a few times playing someone who could've very easily been Methos.

I keep meaning to do more with broadsword_babe & her_champion, but they're both just so quiet that I have a hard time prodding them for things.

I really want to play Cavan, I've just had trouble getting him out there... plus RL has been nasty to me for about six months so that's cut into my RP a lot. I don't know...

It's interesting. Immortals would fit perfectly into that verse/concept because there are other non-Highlander immortals. Plus a lot of other strange & unusual creatures/humanoids called "abnormals". So, yeah.

I've seen your OOC posts & I'm sorry to hear that RL has been so crappy for you. I hope things will start getting better.

Hunh. TV is kind of a non-option for me, but maybe I'll look for eps online.

Yeeeah. My cat is going to be put to sleep this week. I'm... mostly trying not to think about that. I don't want her to suffer, though. Maybe this next year will be better. It'd be nice to have a real job again...
