((ooc: sure. sorry for the delay, work picked up unexpectedly, going to assume a more stretched out timeline at the end of the film.))

Poe has heard all about the young woman from Jakku. First from Finn when the other man had made his plea about needing to go after Rey, to rescue her, even in the midst of the mission against Starkiller Base. Even after that, when Finn had returned wounded -- unconscious and still recovering, far too slowly, Poe thinks, but he knows that's concern speaking -- it was BB-8 who had a great deal to say about Rey. All good things.

Really, Poe was beginning to wonder if droids could develop crushes, because his small astromech sure seems to be sweet on the young scavenger.

More than that, whenever the little droid wasn't where Poe expected it to be, the pilot would inevitably find him rolling and whistling and beeping around Rey. At first, that's the reason that keeps bringing him to Rey. As time goes on though, he finds himself seeking her out without the convenient excuse of retrieving his flight support.

He knows that there won't be too much time. General Organa and others have been analyzing the completed star chart. It's only a matter of time before they can finally send someone to find Skywalker. Poe has a feeling it will be the girl.

So now, it's one of those times where he doesn't have BB-8 as an excuse as he makes his way towards the Millennium Falcon where it's docked for whatever repairs the Resistance can manage on it to make it shipshape. He ducks his head inside, calling out quietly, "Rey? You here?"

Rey'd heard about Poe, as well. Both from BB-8 sharing what little non-classified information he could, and from Finn, too, little bits and pieces about his friend, his partner, the bravest man he knew. And although she wishes that their first meeting could have come under better circumstances, she knew from the start that she could trust him implicitly. She likedcomplain. This is just ... a new life, after all, full of new responsibilities, and new expectations of her that she sometimes isn't sure that she can live up to.

While she hasn't yet been tasked with finding the legendary Jedi, Rey knows that it's only a matter of time. Something big is on the horizon, and she's definitely going to be taking a part in it.

Until then, though, she keeps herself as busy as she can with the Falcon, and with Finn, and with Poe, whenever they find the time to spend together. Like now, as she almost immediately pops up from where she's making repairs, offering a bright smile, even though there's a smear of oil across her cheek.

"Poe!"

[ When he found out Lor San Tekka had a map that would help the Resistance find Luke Skywalker - the Luke Skywalker - Rey hadn't been able to believe it. The old man had always been thought of as a bit of mystic despite his kindly demeanor. Rey cared for him because of how kind he had always been to the young scavenger. But it was only after he saw an x-wing descend from the sky that he finally started to believe all those stories Tekka had told him growing up.

He bursts into his hut without asking or ceremony, staff up and ready as he sizes the stranger up.

The Resistance isn't their enemy but he doesn't want anyone trying to come here and intimidate the old man. When Tekka informs him the pilot is a friend, he lowers his staff. Still glowering a little in Poe's general direction, untrusting. It's a force of habit after the years he's lived on Jakku. ]

[Poe can recognize when he's being sized up. Of course, the boy with the staff isn't exactly making a secret of it. The pilot can feel the heat of that glare from here. But he offers a smile anyway because well, he's not here to cause any trouble at all. Lor San Tekka is a trusted friend of General Organa, so far as he is concerned, and that's all that matters.

That's enough in his book, after all. But he can't blame the boy for being suspicious. He's an outsider.

And while the old man has slipped off to retrieve the promised map, the answer to the Resistance's prayers.]

He's lucky to have you looking out for him. What he's holding... could mean the difference in this war.

[ Rey doesn't smile back. He doesn't say anything. He's playing no part in this war. He's waiting for his family to come back for him. The thought the First Order might have harmed said family isn't even entertained.

He waits until Tekka returns before turning and leaving the hut. He stands outside, keeping watch.

Lor San Tekka gives a chuckle as he sits down, he waves a hand to the other seat opposite him. ]

Sit. There's no need to fear, Rey. Although he's not terribly sociable around strangers.
