You're a strong person, perhaps physically, perhaps mentally, perhaps both. You're brave. A steel rod of a backbone means you face your enemies with little hesitation, doing the job no one else wants to do. That kind of intestinal fortitude is commendable. You have a purpose. You have a mission. There is something about you that people want.
And you have a weakness.
Maybe nobody knows it or maybe everyone knows it, but your weakness is the person you're in love with. Yes, in love. Someone like you can be in love, whether you've admitted it to yourself or not...or to them. More than anything, you want to be with them and keep them safe from harm. Sometimes, you just can't. It's more dangerous around you than with you.
Whether you're together or not, you should hope that no one with an axe to grind with you knows that this person is your blind spot...
HOW TO PLAY
- Comment with your character, preferences, whether you're open to smut or no, etc.
- Be sure to mention if you'd prefer to play the one with the weakness or the "weak spot."
- Reply to others.
- Use the RNG or not.
PROMPTS ship
- First Meeting: You've never met a person who's caught your interest quite like this; you may not know how to respond to these unique feelings.
- With Them Before It Happened: They came first. The situation that drove you to your "destiny" occurred later. You can't just throw away that old life.
- Unexpected Savior: You were down and out. They found you and nursed them back to health. You feel indebted to them..and more.
- Normalcy is Abnormal: You would never take things like dinner, picnics, dancing, or the movies for granted. Some people can't have that, after all.
- Missed Date: Of course, you have to bail out on dates occasionally. Duty calls.
- Shown Love: Who could ever care for someone like you? They can. They show you selfless affection
- Bad Apple: You’re rotten through and through - except for your genuine love for them.
- Light of My Life: Everything in this world seems terrible except for them, you’re beautiful, shining light. For them, you can live.
- Something There: Before, you were cruel to them, or they to you, yet now both of you see past that blustery beast (even if one of you was, say, a prisoner);
- Keepings Tabs: You have to know that your most important person is safe, or else you just can’t think straight.
- Stay Away: For their own protection, they have to keep away from a dangerous person like you. So no matter if you love them of they love you, you have to break up with them for their safety.
- Happened Before: The person you loved before got hurt because of you and you swore you would never love again. Still, you’re feeling that way once more, letting those walls down, and the old patterns are repeating themselves over and over.
- Important: You’re a king, a lord, a president, a top assassin. People would love to get close to you - or take you out - if they could find the right path in.
- Bodyguard: Your mission is the one you love (though you didn’t start out loving them), and the one thing keeping you from keeping them perfectly safe is also them.
- Berserk Button: From minor slight to major injury, no one hurts your lover without retribution.
- Left in the Dark: They don’t know what kind of life you truly lead. How long can you keep that double life a secret?
- Became This for Them: What you are now is all out of your adoration for them. You’ll do anything to keep them safe, even if it means becoming a monster.
- Not Accepted: You’ve finally revealed what you are in all actuality to them and the reaction was not positive. They’re repulsed by you or by what you’ve done.
- Dynamic Duo: They’ve accepted everything about you, including your mission. In fact, they want to help you fulfill your purpose.
- Family: You two have started a family together, so there's even more to lose.
- Blackmail: Some sinister somebody is holding the happiness, safety, or wellbeing of your loved one above your head to make you serve them.
- Hate Me: It’s not enough to leave them. You have to ensure their safety by making them despise you and never search you out.
- Destroy: You know that they could be your undoing, so you'll take them out yourself. You refuse to be weak.
- Kidnapped: Your weakness has been spotted and picked at, quite literally. Now, the person you care for is in the clutches of someone who wants nothing more than to see you destroyed.
- Bad End:
Is it in bad taste to want to name this prompt after a certain comic book character? The worst of your fears has come to past. Your beloved is dying in your arms because of their relationship with you and you weren't able to save them in time. - Placed in Your Life: The one you thought you loved and trusted was only a mole all along. They were placed in order to get you to make certain decisions and never really cared for you.
- Happy Ending: You've made it to a safe enough place in your life for you and your love to be stable and settle down.
smut
- Reluctant: You don't want to hurt your partner during intimacy, which is a distinct possibility.
- Solace: There's only one place where you find comfort about what your true nature is, and that's in their arms.
- Manipulation: There's one way to worm into your heart and onto your good side; they know it, and they can make you squirm. That's not always a good thing.

Rey | SW:TFA | OTA

[He should have been dead. Left behind as the First Order pulled out from the battle, Kylo Ren was bleeding from more wounds than he cared to put number to. He waited for his ignoble end. Then she had appeared. Kylo waited for the mercy killing that he knew the Jedi would grant him. It never came. Instead, with a sigh and muttered words that he couldn't quite make out, she (somehow, despite being so much smaller than him) managed to drag him from the battlefield. He lost consciousness then.
It was touch and go for a while there. Every time Kylo rose up from the murky depths of his mind, he saw a pair of brown eyes watching him. When eventually he became more stable, he awoke to find Rey watching him once more. He struggled to speak even a few words, weak as he was.]
You're still here.
[He was oddly touched. Here he had been sure Rey had hated him, and yet, she'd saved him from what he had been sure was his end.]
no subject
[It would have been so easy kill him - at least, a dark and insidious voice in the back of Rey's head told her, it would be the kindest option, wouldn't it, to quickly and humanely end his suffering? And yet, she didn't listen, taking a moment to shake free the tendrils that had started to take root, to take stock of the situation (which was dire), and to decide that she wasn't going to leave Ren here like this, to die like this.
So with a sigh, and a few choice curse words directed his way, and with a strength that she didn't know she possessed, Rey managed to get him most of the way to where the Falcon was, where Finn was already aboard, unconscious, but stable enough.
In all honesty, she'd rather be sitting by Finn's side, holding his hand, reassuring herself that he was going to be just fine, but her attention is more needed elsewhere, in case the injured knight wakes up long enough to attempt to wreak havoc on the ship and those upon it.
But as she watched him, quiet and vulnerable, as she allowed herself to feel guilty for the hurt that she'd inflicted upon him, she hoped, at least somewhat, that there was some good in him somewhere.
Although, none of that was evident in the dryness of her tone when she answered - ]
Where else would I be?
no subject
I don't know. Somewhere else.
[Excuse him if he's lacking in his usual brand of bone-dry sarcasm punctuated with creepy remarks. Kylo's lost his fair share of blood. He had assumed that she didn't particularly care for him, especially considering she had slashed him across the face with a lightsaber. Seeing as how he still had all four limbs attached, he considered himself lucky. Clearly, the Force had other plans for him, or he would have been dead already.
Normally, if someone showed Kylo Ren mercy, he was quick to take advantage of it, cutting them down where they stood. But Rey was different. She had bested him in combat and had every right to leave him to die or kill him on the spot. She had done neither. He was in her debt, a position that Kylo had never felt himself in before. He'd just have to pay her back somehow. Just as soon as he could move again without bleeding out all over the place.]

[Somewhere else. If she could be, Rey would be at Finn's side, but it didn't seem as though he'd be coming around anytime soon, and her attention was needed elsewhere, namely here, if only to ensure the safety of the others aboard the Falcon.
It wasn't exactly the most cutting reply, but there was enough sarcasm evident to cause Rey to roll her eyes in return. Maybe after he recovered more fully, so would the creepy remarks. Not that she was thinking in terms of what would happen when he recovered fully, just that it seemed the better option when the other was death.
One could dislike another tremendously without wishing death upon them, after all.
She sighed softly, even as she eyed him warily. Weak, but still a danger. And so, her she wouldn't let her guard down, not for a moment. If need be - she hoped for the opposite - she would not hesitate to strike him down.
Again.]
Be still. I did what I could with the supplies that were on hand. But you need better medical attention than I can provide. Just ... try not to move too much.

[Kylo struggled to sit back up, the movements agonizingly slow and just as painful. He looked up at Rey with a guarded expression on his face. He was so far removed from his emotions that it was hard just to relate to something as basic as human decency. What Rey had done was beyond that. She had been...kind. Kylo Ren had no experience with kindness. It confused him, leaving him unable to react as he normally would.
There was a storm in his eyes as he looked up at her, something not filled with hatred and anger, as before. Instead, this was softer, a mixture of confusion and something else.]
Thank you. For saving my life. [It was all that he could find the words to say.]
no subject
Rey watched him carefully, well aware that even in this weakened state, he still posed a real threat, should he choose to try mounting an escape. But all he did was sit up, and watch her with an expression that she could not quite read, nothing like the rage she'd experienced firsthand not long ago.
It was when he spoke again that truly caught her off-guard. What exactly was he trying to play at?] I - it was the right thing to do.
no subject
[After sitting up, Ren was silent for a long while. His breathing was a little more rapid as he pushed his weakened body past its limitations.]
Was it? I'm your enemy. I killed someone you cared about. [Someone that, a long time, a boy named Ben Solo had cared about as well.] I tried to kill that Stormtrooper you care so much about. I tried to kill you. If the positions were reversed, I would have left you to die.
[That wasn't entirely true. He would have taken her to the Supreme Leader as he had been ordered. But had it purely been up to Kylo, he would have left the scavenger to fend for herself.]
no subject
She was not going to fall for it, despite the spike of anger and sadness that flares with his statements.] You did. I suppose that's the difference between you and I.
[One of many, she's sure. The most important one, in any case.] Would you have preferred being left to die?
no subject
[Kylo frowns in regards to her statement. They're not so different, the two of them. Both Force users, both dedicated to seeing their goals through. Both pig-headedly stubborn if her beating him was anything to go by.]
No. But now this means I'm in your debt. I owe you one.
[This was going to make things difficult for him, he could already tell. There wasn't anything Rey wanted or needed from him. Nothing that he could give, anyway. But the scales had to be balanced and so he was going to make sure that his debt got paid.]
no subject
Ren owing her a debt was another thing that she did not want. He'd tried to kill her ... and probably wouldn't hesitate to do so again! What could he possibly have to offer that she would want?]
I had no idea that you could be so honorable.
[Luckily, there is only just the slightest bit of sarcasm audible in her tone, rather than the vitriol that she could have spat back.]
What could I possibly want from you?
no subject
Someone once told me a long time ago to always pay your debts.
[Han had told him that, back when Ben had been young and impressionable. Strange that out of all the lessons his father had tried to impart on him that it would be the one to stick. Well, the old smuggler was probably laughing somewhere now that Kylo was finally listening to something he'd said.
He frowns at Rey. She does have a point there. There's not much he can offer to her at current time. She's already turned down his offer to learn the ways of the Force. Still, he was persistent.]
Use your imagination. I'm sure there's something I could offer you.
[Or he could just continue to follow Rey around like the world's creepiest puppy until she finally put a stop to it.]
no subject
She'd laugh, but she isn't interested in antagonizing Ren when he's been so calm thus far. It might be a ruse, but given the fact that he was injured severely, the best course of action was to keep calm, too, keep talking, keep him alert. It doesn't mean she has to seriously consider any of his offers.
She makes a 'tsk' noise, shrugging thin shoulders slightly.]
... Talk to your mother? Don't die? Consider ... doing what's right? Are any of those acceptable payments of your debt?
[Please, don't be a huge, creepy puppy for too long, it would be so hard to explain why she's got Kylo Ren as a shadow.]
no subject
[Kylo lets out a laugh, quickly regretting the movement when it jars the wound in his side. She was perceptive, getting at him with the things he tried hardest of all to avoid thinking of at all times.]
I don't plan on dying anytime soon. As for the rest... [He frowns, looking a bit downhearted, the way he always does when he's forced to think of his family.] ...couldn't you make me do something that I was actually capable of?
[Though it wasn't like he could just save her life at the drop of a hat. Life-threatening situations just didn't pop up out of the blue. Still, considering the world they lived in, another was bound to crop up eventually.]
no subject
Truly? They were the first suggestions she thought of. And clearly, most of them were on par with sharing a cell with a Rathtar. It's his expression, though, that catches her attention more thoroughly than anything else. There's a sadness there, and for a moment, she wants to explore it, but she soon swallows the curiosity.
Doesn't matter. Doesn't matter, after everything that he's done. It doesn't matter.]
Fine. [She mumbles, shrugging thin shoulders slightly, almost cursing herself mentally for even entertaining the notion ... ] We'll discuss it when you're better.
