Look Past the Blood on Your Hands Red's in your ledger or you're making your way towards a crimson page by your very nature. Did you simply do what you had to do in order to survive? No one could understand how you lived. That could be just what you tell yourself, though; really, you might have enjoyed your crimes. You're not proud of some of what you've done, no matter what, and there's a part of you that will probably never heal. If you were someone else looking in, you'd never be able to stand looking at you, much less stomach you. But someone does all of that willingly. They can look past the blood on your hands and the bad decisions weighing on your shoulders. It's you they care about, not your history. Actually, they may even love you, though you can't begin to fathom why. Comment with your character, preferences, and whether your character is the one with guilt or past sins or the one looking past all that. Reply to others. Have fun.

The streets are no place to be alone.

She holds her blanket tight around her shoulders as she looks into the shadows of the alley. The streetlight at the front of it doesn't shed any illiminution past the two huge garbage bins, and she shies back at the darkness at the shapes that may just be other trash bags, or could be the sort of other homeless that she really doesn't want to be with. There's always a line, always someone willing to attack the small mutant for her little bag of food or for a better sleeping space.

There's nobody to watch her back when things turn mean.

She steps into the shadows, and blinks as her eyes adjust. With the metal garbage bins blocking of the street light, it's a sharp contrast between the two spaces in the alley, and it's a nice place to keep from being seen, with all the darkness around her.

She's starting to set her bag and bedroll down on the concrete, up against the ugly brick wall that borders the alley, when she hears a noise behind her, like the scuffling of feet. She spins around, and her bag goes flying off her back, and her hands light with a bright pink light, like fireworks blossoming off her skin.

Then she sees the form on the ground, the man lying in the dirt and darkness. She can't tell if he's breathing or not, but he doesn't look in any shape to hurt her. He looks more like he needs help than he's going to fight her.

"Oh." She bends down, and sees the odd shape of his arm, the way it glints in the light from her powers. It's bent oddly, no wonder he's curled up like that. "You're hurt."

It's a feat for someone who built her life on bounty hunting, but bringing in someone alive with head trauma was always more profitable than bringing in some rotting corpse. And yes, there's plenty of people dead at her hands because of her bombs, but those are easy
Those deaths just amount to a statistic, collateral damage.

But running a man through with a sword, that's personal. That's bloody, and then you have to look at him in the eye while he bleeds out.

To her credit, Nora makes it back to her tent in camp before she has a breakdown. His blood is still on her clothes, dried and starting to flake. Somehow, it sill feels hot and sticky. She can still feel it flowing over her hands, through her fingers, and suddenly vomiting everything she's eaten in the last week doesn't seem like a bad idea.]
