From Completely Different Worlds
![]() The two of you couldn't have, shouldn't have, crossed paths under any other circumstances. You're from two completely differing spheres: separated by class, by continent, by occupation, by age, by anything. You could both be from different worlds...literally! But distance means nothing now, because you've been tossed quite unceremoniously into each others' lives by some unusual event. Now, you must work together; soon, though, you realize you both have another common interest - each other. Fire-forged attraction is some of the strongest across all worlds, after all, and the sparks are flying. Is it possible that the pair of you will realize your feelings for each other, or is the task at hand much more important? Will the ways in which you differ keep you apart, especially if one of you is a stranger in a strange land or time? Are you even really compatible? Sudden closeness and having to rely on someone can confuse feelings. Most importantly, if you act on mutual desire, will you last as an item? ★ Comment with your character, preferences, and all that good stuff. ☆ Reply to others. Mix it up with unique character combinations or mash together canons on far opposite ends of the spectrum, like hard sci-fi and high fantasy. But really, just have fun. ★ Thread a thread. |

They were simply beaten into silence, or chained up if they wouldn't behave. Visiting was prohibited, to keep the secrets of the hospital contained. After all, it made its money by keeping patients interred, it wasn't in the best interests of the hospital to let them leave again.
Azula endured that treatment for two whole years, turning fifteen, then sixteen within the asylum walls. But by then, her sanity was wearing thin from the abusive treatment, unaware that Zuko was patiently waiting to hear if she got better. Instead, she turned to the Spirits, and prayed to them for assistance. She asked to be taken far, far away, where no one would be able to find her and drag her back to the 'hospital'. She wanted a fresh start, a new life.
And that's exactly what they gave her.
Which is how she came to appear out of thin air right in front of a young man from a completely different world.

For Tetsuo's part, he had been lounging about in the ruins of the stadium in the Old City. The reconstruction work that had revived Neotokyo hadn't reached nearly so far, leaving a landscape of wrecked or at least damaged buildings as a sort of no-mans-land slum, where street gangs ruled. Even they didn't like to hang around the stadium, though--there wasn't much of value left there, so many years later, and it was widely said to be haunted. Tetsuo, though, had always found it fascinating, and he loved recklessly climbing about on the concrete ruins and relaxing in out-of-the-way spots where no one would bother him.
So it startled the hell out of him when a girl about his age just dropped in front of him... which was problematic, given how precarious a spot he was on. He'd worry about where she came from, later--first, he reflexively lunged forward to grab onto her before she could go teetering off the ledge. After all, it was quite a ways down.
"E-..! What the hell..?!"
He glanced upward, searching briefly for where in the wide world of sports she could have fallen from, then to her.
"Oi, you aright?"

"I... I think so? Where am I?" she asked. Even the air smelled different here, and it was chilly given that all she wore was a simple hospital robe. She searched his face for recognition or clues, would he lie to her?
She started to tremble, the full reality of her situation hitting her--she had absolutely no idea where she was, and no skills aside from knowing how to fight. She couldn't even make rice, how could she survive on her own and pass herself off as a peasant? And she'd certainly never be able to pass herself off as nobility, that would garner far too much attention and that was the last thing she needed.

He blinked at that response rather flummoxed, paused just a second in confusing, then guided her away from the edge carefully to where she could sit down safely, at least.
"Uhh, yer in th'Old City. Th'stadium. Don't worry, tho, ain't really no ghosts or nothin', it's just kinna spooky. ...where're ya s'posed ta be?"
